They probably had never dealt with anything like that and didn't even know what to do. I live in a very rural place and I guarantee these cops would not know what to do if something like that happened.

I wouldn’t mind living in a house people died in, if it were cleaned and it was especially cheap. I would, however, leave a dedication of some kind in the house to honor their memory. I wouldn’t want to live in a murderer’s house, though; not even demolishing it and building on the land.

Laiya Ramsay. Human beings are predators. No amount of civilization completely removes those behaviors and it takes very little to turn some people into savage killers. I always remember that--and I remind myself that effective treatment for the mentally ill is almost nonexistent, that dangerous criminals are paroled every day and that relying on the police to keep us safe is not the best way to stay alive. I would like to believe that most people are good but I definitely don't count on that.

So I had to look this up because it threw me. So it doesn't confuse anyone else: in the US (where I am from) a "Mickey" is slang for spiking someone's drink. In Canada (where Criminally Listed is from) a Mickey is a Pint of Liquor.

    • @natalierozean5989
      @natalierozean5989 6 ปีที่แล้ว +20

Kevin Forbes lol! I was wondering the same thing. In KS... Mickeys are cheap malt liquor in a fat green glass bottle. I’ve never heard of it being a reference to spiking a drink. You just buy a 6 pack of them.

I don't know the exact details but it seems like it was a very isolated area and other police may have been a long time away. Remember, they weren't just going to 'investigate' his house - there was reason to believe the people living there were in danger (he had assaulted his wife in the past). With a choice between guarding a crime scene and potentially protecting peoples lives, I guess they chose the latter.

Noticed that there was no advertising on this video.
The criticisms in the last video weren't about anything other than the timing of the advert - it certainly wasn't a desire to see advertising scrapped.
Coincidentally, last night's Scary Mysteries video had an advert positioned mid-story too, which also attracted complaints.
This makes me wonder if it's actually TH-cam which is doing this, rather than the content providers.
If that's the case then apologies to Criminally Listed, and shame on you TH-cam.
(Has Criminally Listed decided to forego advertising revenue because the advertising positioning is outwith his control?)
Everyone is fully aware of the mess the TH-cam finds itself in - all of which is down to their own poor decision making.
It's causing irreparable damage to a lot of channels, but doesn't seem to care.
If I wrongly maligned the producer of Criminally Listed then please accept my apologies - I did not want to see any loss of revenue for the channel.

Think I'd definately prefer one upload a week compared to two. That way he can put more research and work into it and the episodes be longer and more fulfilling.
And as I said before I think he could do his little advertisements in between cases as they are only about 30secs to a min.
These aren't critical points as I love the epsidoes and channels, I just throwing my little pence piece in. Great work as always and without doubt the best TH-cam channel that does this kind of thing.

I'm not meaning to be disrespectful but imagine the SMELL that must've been coming from that house. To be able to smell something all the way from the next house which was probably several hundred feet away at least that's so bad you felt the need to go investigate and not only that but could easily locate the source of the bad smell from hundreds of feet away OUTSIDE. But the smell of human flesh is pretty identifiable I guess. Those poor people must've been in a pretty horrific state...

Your channel is underrated man. Good video. It's amazing to me how the police didn't act at all on all of the disappearances reported to them in Northern California until those two guys got caught stealing. You would have thought the police department would have been able to make the connections with these disappearances. Of course without an obvious murder, leads, tip-offs, the police had nothing to go by at all to investigate any of these disappearances.
