I see why DBZA was such a hit now. The chemistry in that room is amazing. But some chemical reactions don't work under too much pressure, so I can understand why they felt it was finished.

31 mins in I got a hilarious visual of goku sitting in the chair eating popcorn, "they made me sit in the chair". I thought that was funnier than like the whole thing, + u can't see the piccolo remember when goku joke, which is past Manga good.

Yeah, this is kinda the end of “badass movie hero” Piccolo. He doesn’t get to tangle with anyone in movie 7, gets JUMPED by Broly in movie 8, and…I guess he does get to take out one of the ghost warriors in the second Christmas special. Kinda weak.

Krillin's laugh after Cooler says "Big Getti Star" is probably one of my favorite laughs of all time. If there was a visual I'd use a gif of it all the time. Also "Monkey Versus Robot" has a special place in my heart. In art school my professor would host these "animation potlucks" where we all brought a dish & would watch assorted animation based on a theme, & our first one's theme was "Robots."

One thing I never understood about the dbz movies was the near constant use of vague space shit to achieve villainous objectives. What does the Makyo star have to do with Garlic Jr.'s plan? How did the Big Gete Star rebuild Cooler? Why did Paragus wait for Comet Komouri to destroy new Vegeta when he had Broly all along? Even Bojack was somehow locked in a planet he should have easily been able to blow up.
robots as enemies reminds me of the section in yugioh abridged, "oh good robots? you know what that means? Hyper violence!" in any movie it's an excuse for heroes to not hold back, although, in dragon ball they usually don't hold back against foes outside of goku

Also - since we do find out later Bulma tends to gather the Dragonballs and all, could have always used one of the two wishes they get once the Dragon is back to undo the damage of over 1000 kicks and then make herself look a little younger if the senzu beans weren't enough. Though - if you were to ever actually do something where we see a kid/teen version of his daughter and cause of the zenkai boost you mentioned she's able to just go straight to like Super Saiyan god or something that'd be hilarious.

I don't know if it's the editing or what, but I never really bought that Piccolo took down those other Cooler-bots when he was saving everyone. Didn't help that we saw them exploding not even 10 seconds ago. I figured that's what was going on there, too. Might've needed a beam effect or a small explosion effect to sell it better imo? IK it's source material issues, I accept that.

I think there are a handful of characters from Dragon Ball that TFS have taken and made basically the definitive versions of them. Cooler is absolutely at the top of that list.

I don't know if it's the editing or what, but I never really bought that Piccolo took down those other Cooler-bots when he was saving everyone.
Didn't help that we saw them exploding not even 10 seconds ago. I figured that's what was going on there, too. Might've needed a beam effect or a small explosion effect to sell it better imo?

god bless it, I love seeing Lani, Taka, and Kaiser in this, like having Lani and Kaiser was great, but Taka being in these gives off so much good buddy vibes with how much they mess around and play off of each other
I think there are a handful of characters from Dragon Ball that TFS have taken and made basically the definitive versions of them. Cooler is absolutely at the top of that list.
