I think you're right! I'm looking for a good drum machine and the tr8 is my next buy, I looked a lot of drum machines reviews and this one seems to sounds like I want. Anything that I need to be aware of before buying this tr? We can find some cheap units out there. It seems that people don't like this TR because of its limitations but do they read the specs of what they buy? 😅
@@drop7vogue Well, because the TRS (I think that's what it's called) came out and it's an updated version. People have forgotten about the TR-8. But the regular-old TR-8 is more simplistic (still has the complicated button combos but there's cheat sheets and videos online to help with that.) The TR-8 is most like an OG 808, and I like being limited. If you want a drum machine with a screen, and options to load in your own sounds then you might as well have a DAW, cause it defeats the purpose. Give me my TR-8 linked to a TB-3 and I'm gone for hours - without the eye strain from looking at a computer monitor.
@@drop7vogue I just picked up a used one and it's very promising. Definitely try to find out if the one you get has the 7x7 expansion already on it (mine does not, so I'm faced with the decision of spending $110 more). I'm really happy with the features so far, and honestly the only "wtf" is why there is no function to copy pattern A into pattern B. But they'll probably never update that at this point.
Ottimo!
@@OoraMusic non me l'aspettavo! Decisions decisions. Magari mi prendo prima un'octatrak e poi valuto. Grassie del parere Fede
I'm amazed that you can't route internal sounds through the beat fx as standard (I call it beat fx because that's what the effect is called on the mx-1)..
Off topic question. In a previous video you talked about using the Op-1 into morphogene. How to you raise the audio level to eurorack levels so you can interface Op-1, iPhone etc with the Morphogene?
Just a question. I've tryed and it works, but i can't no more use the internal reverb and delay with all the drums going in the assignable A. Is there a way to set the tr8 with internal effect working with the external in?
*That's really a creative hack! Thank you OORA!*
Glad you like it!
Great tip!
Glad it was helpful!
Awsome Trick!!!
Make’s it Alive 💫
Still have all my green gear. Tr8 is going to be a classic
still have it too!

very cool trick as long you don't utilize additional outs (like I do for a kick and hats on 2 assignable outs, for tracking purposes)
true!
Ottimo trick!! È possibile farlo anche sulla TR8s?
non l ho mai avuta , non sono sicuro!
Is there a way to turn on and off the sidechain without turning the amount knob?
I don't think so sadly

yep that should have been a feature, agreed

i have a strymon aa1 for that!
@@OoraMusic thank you!
I support your Patreon Channel, but I do not see the Roland video there. Am I missing something? Thanks!
Thanks for the support!!! I released that video quite a while ago. here www.patreon.com/posts/love-letter-to-51488256
Will this also work the same way on TR8S? That is the drum machine I am hoping to get soon.
yes you can do that as well

I think the fx are only ssignable on the master outs sadly
How does this work on the tr8s?
Will do a test soon!
Nice tip! But you're loosing the possibility of panning the instruments.
true! but i mostly use the tr8 live, so Im fine with that.
