- Ness and Lucas are some of the most interesting inclusions in the Super Smash Bros. series, that being because their home series of MOTHER/EarthBound is so interesting. But what if another character from the series was to be added to the roster? Who should it be? This video is a countdown ranking on who I think would be best. Enjoy!

To add to your point about the unidealness of Giygas's inclusion, bringing him down the level of a Smash fighter would be antithetical to his portrayal in the MOTHER games. The point is made that you cannot defeat him with brute force -- Maria even spells this out during the final battle. Whereas Smash is centered on victory through combat.
yeah, putting giygas in as a boss could be interesting if you were creative though (like the MUGEN adaptations of him, that has one that's pretty faithful to the original game where you pray and one that's completely apeshit in every way imaginable, really doubling down on the incomprehensible nature of giygas and his attacks) (seriously one of his attacks is a fake game crash)
It would be cool instead if you fought both forms of him as a boss of sorts. The way to defeat him would be to reflect his attacks via the Franklin Badge.
Then his second form could be similar to master core from Sm4sh.

Smash Bros need not apply power scaling.
Sephiroth is obviously not going to get taken down by an army of 3 canonically ant-sized Pikmin any time soon.
We know Peach and Zelda do not go toe to toe with Bowser and Ganondorf in canon.
A gunshot does not deal less damage than a child casually wiggling a stick.
As a Mewtwo echo, I honestly don't feel Giegue would stand out that much. Mewtwo itself is the ultimate Pokémon yet all the Pokémon in-game are balanced. I don't think it's that weird.
I personally think Porky got unfairly excluded from Ultimate, as every other Smash Brawl boss makes a return in some way. However, I do understand that the joke could be he's still stuck in the capsule spirit. He's such a unique character. I remember when Sora was being revealed, seeing that Ness and Lucas were near up front with Mario, thinking that it could have actually been it, but then Mario stepped off the platform with the Disney dust, lol.
My bias aside, I think Ninten would be nice to fulfill the Mother 1 representation.
I think the Masked Man would fit best as a story mode boss honestly.

I think Teddy genuinely has good potential. He reps mother 1, is a non psi user and has a unique silhouette. As a non psi user and larger character he would t be another floaty zoner. He also offers a glimpse into mothers darker themes without potential spoilers. While yes he'd potentially be another sword fighter his personality would prevent him from coming off as derivative.
I think people are sleeping on him.

I think Paula should join. Need more Little Girl fighters in Smash. As well as Jeff the nerd character who uses guns as weapons as well as the kid who represents non psychic. paula could possibly be a 2nd clone to Ness, but i do believe she'll be the Wolf of Ness.

I would love if instead of psi magnet, Paula used the teddy bear. Kinda like toad in Peach's moveset
I just love the Porky boss from Brawl. Especially after playing Mother 3, it’s just cool seeing a Mother boss fight visualized. My main complaint is that Master Porky’s theme should’ve played during the battle. If Porky were to get in, that theme has to be included! If there was another Mother 3 rep in general, I wonder how much Nintendo would risk the music, considering the music is theorized to be the main thing holding back a localization. Though, there are some tracks beyond Ultimate that don’t cross copyright laws, so I don’t think it’s a huge problem.
Yeah! But Unfortunately The Porky Boss From Smash Bros Brawl Never Comes Back In Smash Ultimate! So Then, We Need To Wait Until If It Comes Back In The Next Smash Game Or Not! :(
I cant believe nobody wanted jeff, he would have been an amazing choice, due to his machines, he could play kind of like snake, accept more goofy, and his final smash would have to be the sky runner, im sorry there is no other option
Ninten's addition would just be so perfect to complete the trilogy of protagonists, he's one of my 3 dream characters for smash (and the most realistic one... lol)
I love the way PMEX Remix handled him, with him basically being a semiclone of ness but with almost no PSI moves
i also have a huge soft spot for EBB...
except for hypnosis and 4D slip!!!

Still feel the horribly fumbled the Porky Ultimate “joke” like if the whole joke is he’s in the capsule then why not add a pig spirit to the crafting recipe?? It just gives the vibe that they legit didn’t care about Porky and didn’t even bother to throw the most basic reference to him. Plus we should’ve had a Porky spirit and then have it be apart of the crafting process
I actually have a few good ideas for Kumatora if she was playable, she would be a heavily altered version of Lucas.
her grab would be different.
the charged attack, instead of being a stick, would use her power gloves, she would also lean forward for it.
her normal down smash, when in air, would be PK thunder, she would set down lightning right below herself.
her down smash would be PK Ground instead of PK Magnet, PK ground would stun enemies in an area and make them unable to move, it'd also deal gradual damage.
PK Fire is unaltered, same for PK Freeze.
Her up smash would be the unused PK Teleport, having the unused animations and sending her upward.
Also the normal attacks would be completely melee instead of being based on PK Love, since she doesn't learn it.
edit: ALMOST FORGOT, the Final Smash would be PK Starstorm Omega, looking different from Ness' and Lucas' and dealing a bit more damage

I've been wanting Porky in Smash for years as well as other mech characters like Tron Bonne and Dr. Eggman. So much moveset potential in all 3 of these characters that I can't even begin to start where to write down. Their potential is almost limitless and I wish more people in the Smash community would want mech fighters in because we don't really have them and Porky, Tron Bonne and Eggman are the best choices in my opinion.
Ive always thought eggman would be great in smash! Honestly the sonic franchise is so underrepresented. If they were to add another character I feel like shadow is the most likely, but there are so many great options.
@@kumatorahaltmanndreemurr When you're playing as R.O.B pretend that you're playing as an Eggman robot. It's very difficult for Eggman to work without making him a Bowser jr clone.

I feel like it boils down between Porky and Ninten which I feel both deserve to be in.
Ninten for representing the start of the series since without the first game you wouldn’t have the two sequels, completing the Trio of Protagonists, also the Charlie Brown side of the series. In a perfect world where Sakurai did more with Echoes, Ninten would obviously be a Ness Echo but with Buffing (like Shulk) and Debuffing PSI, he can even utilize his Boomerang and Slingshot in his attacks, and more Bat attacks than Ness, he’d have a Mewtwo-esque recovery in 4th-D Slip but I’ll stop there for Ninten.
For Porky there’s a lot of possibilities as the Brawl Boss Battle has shown us and I very much agree, Porky could be a different functional mech archetype aside from Bowser Jr., and of course Smash could use more Villains, heck Kamek should be in Smash too as a Yoshi Villain, he was an important character in the Mario Movie, and Black Shadow as an F-Zero Villain that could inherit Ganondorf’s non-sword attacks assuming Ganondorf gets a True Zelda inspired move set but I’m getting off topic lol.

I dont see Ninten enter the roster... I think he's better as a assist trophy, but I really think that Masked Man or Porky could enter, specially Porky, because he was a boss in Brawl and he is the antagonist of EarthBound and the villain of Mother 3
Honestly duster would be cool to see, especially with things like wall staples or siren beetle.
I think you should look at the rivals of aether workshop because there are a lot of high quilty earthbound characters on there!
I think the next Mother character that should be in the next Smash game should only be Ninten.
It'll finally close off the trilogy of Mother protagonist as fighters.
Duster. Idc about Rope Snake going to him and Lucas at the same time, if Ness and Lucas get elemental PSI and Starstorm we can have 2 rope snakes. Duster could grab with the wall staple, use Scary Mask or Hypno Pendulum to stun the enemy, and use his shoes in general kicking attacks for jabs/tilts/smashes

I'm still really dissapointed that they didn't add Porky or Giygas as spirits. And I know the Absolutely Safe Capsule is sorta Porky's spirit, but it's just not the same
Im surprised jeff isnt on this list, hes a very good protagonist for a bit and his machines give endless moveset. Maybe his final smash can have bubble monkey call tessie or smth

Well since Giygas in unlikely to join, I guess he is gonna be to similar to Mewtwo. I guess Mewtwo is considered the Giygas to Ness.
I know you tried picking a more creative choice in this video, but Ninten should be added to give each of the triology a representative. He could use many different PSI attacks that Ness/Lucas don't use (like PK ground, brainshock, hypnosis, teleport, and telepathy), singing, and a slingshot. Also he could use Eve as a final smash.
I actually think Flint's Mother 3 skill set would be overwhelmingly conducive to Smash. Power Smash could be his neutral special and function similarly to either Donkey Kong's wind-up punch/Samus's charged shot or the homerun bat. His side special could be Swing, where he unleashes a quick barrage left and right and is invulnerable while doing so. Strengthen Up and Toughen Up could be down special; one is chosen randomly and the effects are applied until Flint is KO'd. The former would increase the power of Flint's attacks and knockback range, while the latter would decrease the damage he takes and make him harder to knock out. Up special could be him springing into the air upwards with the Drago Fang like a dragoon. It'd be hard to come up with a Final Smash, though; maybe Hinawa could appear behind a sunflower field and cause all opponents to fall asleep, which would allow Flint to finish them off with Power Smash.
They made movesets for Captain Falcoln and the Duck Hunt dog---Flint would be relatively easy in comparison. Besides the adapatability of his skills, I feel that Flint's design would resonate far more with a western audience, possibly expanding the overall appeal for the Mother representation in Smash. If, say, Kumatora or Paula got in, it'd be playing it very safe by catering to the Japanese crowd, which is already well accounted for. However, it isn't just Flint's aesthetics that I like: he'd be far more interesting to have in Smash than most of his peers. Lucas and Ness use most of Paula/Kumatora's PSI and stole Starstorm from Poo. Pippi may as well be inconsequential. Teddy is completely barren of any transferrable abilities or skills and adds little to the story anyway. Loid and Jeff (espeically Jeff) would be better choices, but we already have children fighters. Duster would be another interesting pick, but I don't think his skills are quite as relevant in a game like Smash compared to Flint. If Flint wasn't cut from the main cast at the last second, he'd be the most obvious choice for the third Mother rep besides maybe the Masked Man, in my opinion.
16 Hit Combo could be a good Final Smash
Hmm. I'm struggling to think of any worthy mother characters that AREN'T already in Smash in some way. Like Rosalina, Samus, a bunch of the Fire Emblem characters (only in certain routes), Yoshi? (I mean he DOES lay eggs...) Oh, and Zelda.
The character we all want is bubble monky, hands down (also electro specter)

Well the Fire Emblem was to promote their games. They had to keep pumping out FE to make it relevant in the West because it failed in the GC era. Mother was basically already done and was never gonna continue as much as FE did

I'm really sad Ultimate never went crazy with the Echo fighters. Like you've said, a lot of the characters would be too similar in moveset, but getting those characters in at all would be amazing, even if as an Echo Fighter. Way better than Mii fighter costumes.

I think they would have the most unique movesets, and while Jeff is an assist, how cool would it be to see his other tricks. For the masked man, I don’t think the spoiler thing would be an issue as long as the game doesn’t say anything (even tho they kinda did in smash 4 smh)
