My GenX vacation Dealing with the past in order to move forward

This year, instead of going with friends to the Jersey shore - I decided to go to an event that I have been avoiding for many years. I also decided to travel to my childhood home and various parts in NYC and just deal with the past.
I wanted to reminisce, see what's changed, what's remained the same and most of all - reconnect with myself. I'm so glad I did it, and I wish I could have stayed longer.
