Porto with Deco, Giuly etc. Not a bad team exactly. With same logic, many of ManCity players werent superstars either

I've been saying all along that Pep can only buy titles. Now that the club is facing all those charges he has no idea how to coach the team instead of just signing world-class players

He took on Barcelona B, a team that finished second last and got relegated and was seen as worst in clubs history and won the title with them. Then took on Barcelona A, who were booed and didnt win anything the season before he came. He won everything with them in his first season, first time any spanish team did it. Made them play a football that was and will never be seen anymore. Dude won 13 out of 16 possible league titles without counting all the other trophies. First CL with City with bums like Grealish as starters lol. We are talking about the most successfull manager of all time here...

As a grass roots coach for nearly ten years I can say that if I gave Pep some of the teams I've had to deal with, I doubt he could do much better. All coaches are overrated. Oggy is totally spot on, Peps career has always just been about getting the best players and making them play. Let's see him problem solve

  • @HarryHasler-s8r

Apart from Haaland and maybe Silva, none of these City players were actual superstars before Pep. Pep doesn't buy superstars, Pep builds superstars.

The problem with Gundo back at City is that lots of the Man City team is also too old. Barca had a young squad around him. It was nothing to do with the league(which is actually quite intense). The young squad covered for his lack of pace/energy. City have an old squad. The Citeh team is too old now. Pep/City made big mistakes with squad building. They got too comfortable winning and didnt revitalise the squad. And its caught up with them this season.

@@milaninter2442 I find the lack of respect for Pep and his achievements shocking. Like he isn't the man that revolutionized football. ManCity will get top 4 this season and next season they'll compete again cause Pep teams always do. They already played much better last game, they'll be back or do you think Haaland will never score a goal again?

Pep has sold so many tale.ted young players.

Has Pep achieved what Jose has with Porto? No stars in that team.

I don't think so, no. There's a point upto which you can go where the players are physically and mentally exhausted after playing through low confidence and high effort. They can do everything right and still lose. After a while, the majority of players will start thinking "I won a lot, maybe it's time for a change". It's a complete revamp, maybe the board starts thinking "We need someone else to lead the new era".

Mark Ogden really does talk a lot of nonsense. City have been incredible under Pep. Playing amazing attacking football. Breaking all the goalscoring/points records etc. His "theyre boring coz theyre so good" attitude is ridiculous. Its "Youre not good looking coz youre too handsome" logic!!
Pep is one of only 3 managers(Keegan and Klopp) to score 4 or more goals v Utd more than once. Mancini isnt in that list.
Ogden also says Fergie is the best coz of longevity but Pep has broken all the PL records in a much shorter time. Fergie never hit near the points total that Pep did. And Pep has longevity at the top level of the game. At several clubs.
Ogden also says Klopps in the convo for best ever and that "if they switched clubs"🤦‍♂. If they switched clubs then Liverpool would have won all those nail biting title battles that Pep won by a point or 2. Thats why City hired him. Coz he is the best.
The fact that Pep has dominated the PL while up against Klopp("arguably one of the best ever") shows how good he is.
This season has been terrible so far for Pep/City. If it is the end he goes as arguably the best ever.
