We hope you enjoy both as much as we did. More from both of these fantastic A Cappella groups to come! Go and support VoicePlay directly by subscribing to their Official TH-cam Channel here - th-cam.com/users/Thevoiceplay Thank you all so much for watching, have an amazing day friends!
I really enjoy your redactions guys and I love Voice Play for sure they are a great group and just a F.Y.I. Home Free and Voice Play are very close friends and love and support each other.
I highly recommend their cover of "Just Sing". It's a HUGE collaboration with MANY other a capella artists. If/when you do that one, be sure to turn on the captions. They included information about who everyone is, as well as a few snarky remarks. Also, with Halloween coming up, be sure to check out their covers of "Grim, Grinning Ghosts", "Oogie Boogie's Song" and "This Is Halloween".
Welcome to VoicePlay. There are many outstanding videos. Their latest is a cover of Bonnie Raitt's I Can't Make You Love Me. Queen in 5 minutes is an older video you should watch. As you discover more of VoicePlay, you will notice that their members have changed, but it's all great.
I anticipated what treasure chest you would open today. Wow, not one but two acappela megas. I had not heard this before. You already made my day. And you did not dissapoint on your first choice. Boy oh boy this is straight to the playlist. You are going to make alot of folks happy today. People this is the place to be! Thank you
Well, not only did 'that guy' hum and SING really low...but he did the arrangement also. Almost all of VoicePlay's arrangements are done by Layne Stein (the beatboxer) or Geoff Castellucci (bass). The bald tenor is Eli (pronuounced Ellie-rhymes with jelly not Eee-lie )Jacobson, who now also does the lighting for their videos. These are kind of the 'core' members you will see regardless of the age of the video, as others have noted they've lost and gained members throughout the years and are still trying to find a permanent fifth member. So, you will see lots of 'featured performers' like John Pinto Jr. (started off the song) was here. The baritone/tenor J None, to the left of Eli, left the group about a year ago to join the US Navy, but has returned occasionally to feature as well.
Great seeing your reaction to VP! They're my favorite of the 'big three' a cappella groups. They do beautiful ballads, as you saw here - but they see their primary focus as doing the more theatrical performances, and they EXCELL at that - you get all the beauty of their arrangements and voices, plus a big dose of theater. Check Hoist the Colors, Enemy, We Don't Talk About Bruno, Queen in 5 Minutes - or whatever catches your attention on their channel. On Geoff's channel, Ain't No Sunshine is my newest favorite. But really? It's all great! Have fun, will be watching for you to come back...
My favorite thing is to watch reactors see and hear Voiceplay for the first time. They are astounding. If I may, a few suggestions from them: Can't Help Falling in Love = sweet Hoist the Colours (Pirates of the Caribbean 3) - mind blowing I Can't Make You Love Me - heartbreaking We Don't Talk About Bruno - fun The bass, Geoff Castellucci started a solo channel during the pandemic, I hope you will check him out as well. 16 Tons - his most popular Shenandoah - pretty, pretty, pretty Ain't No Sunshine - heartbreaking House of the Rising Sun - he's just showing off Subscribed in anticipation of more Voiceplay and Geoff.
Oh dear, the VoicePlay rabbit hole! 😂 There’s lots to see and hear, another amazing one is ‘The dragon born comes’ from the game Skyrim; it’s a sensory treat! 💖💕💖
@@RNTV it is pretty amazing, and I do not do video games. But I am a big Tolkien fan and I like the fantasy world. I just don’t have any eye hand coordination.🤷🏼♀️ If you check out Geoff’s channel be sure to check out Misty Mountains. It is still my favorite because it is so soothing.
Welcome to the VoicePlay rabbit hole. You can't possibly imagine what these guys can do. The bass Geoff Castellucci is especially remarkable, also has his own solo channel. I hope you'll check more of their songs out. They have much better!
Welcome to Voiceplay/Geoff Castellucci's, and a cappella in general, rabbit hole. 🙂 Do you want to try more Voiceplay stuff? Well, to stay in the "melodic" area, there's a number of videos you could check: "I can't help loving you", "True colours", their latest "I can't make you love me", and many more. If you want something more in the "epic" area (and many of them come from video games soundtracks), you can check "Halo Theme" (please, PLEASE watch it til the end, including the part in which the former co-founder and beatboxer Scott Porter explains the reasons behind that particular video), "My mother told me"" from Assassin Creed - Valhalla, "Warriors" (originally by Imagine Dragons), "The Dragonborn comes" from Skyrim... And "Hoist the colours" from Pirates of the Caribbean III. You like something more "rock"? They covered Aerosmith's "Dream on", and it's a beauty; or "Queen in 5 minutes", which is incredible. Like something "easier"? LOTS of Disney stuff, mostly medleys, all worth listening/watching, including a beautiful cover of "We don't talk about Bruno" from Disney's "Encanto". Broadway? Again, "Wicked" medley, "The greatest show" medley, "Phantom of the Opera" (older but beautiful)... And then there's the Halloween stuff: "Kidnap Sandy Claws", "This is Halloween" and "Oogie Boogie Song" from "Nightmare before Christmas". And we're talking just about Voiceplay's stuff! Geoff Castellucci, the bass singer, has a TH-cam channel of his own, and pretty much EVERYTHING you find there in amazing. I personally would start with "Shenandoah", or "Ain't no sunshine", or "16 tons"... But my favourite is "Far over the Misty Mountains cold". In his videos, every character you see is Geoff, multiplied by editing, sometimes with different makeup and costumes, and he sings ALL the parts, showing a 5-octaves range. 🙂 Ah, last suggestion... Always put the captions on, often there's a lot of nice stuff there including humour. And ALWAYS let the video roll until the Patreons list: some times there are nice Easter eggs, or some surprises, just when you thought it was all said and done. 😉 I'll be checking for more reaction to them... Or to the other a cappella groups I love. 🙂
Geoff , Layne, and Eli (who the backbone of the group) all have insane ranges. Geoff and Layne each can cover five octaves (although not every day and not the full range in live performances ). Eli is really really close and has the most versatile voice: from sweet to hard rock along with character voices. Geoff stayed in his low range here, but he can sing up into the tenor range as well. He also has a private channel he began when the pandemic hit. My two favorites are Misty Mountains and 16 Tons, but I always look forward to his Halloween offerings. We don’t get to hear Layne sing a lot anymore. He used to be the baritone of the group when they started out, but when Scott Porter, their beatboxer left to pursue an acting career in 2010, Layne decided to switch to beatboxing. Eli,with the glasses, is the tenor who has stepped up to also cover high tenor as well. But in life performances he covers the bass line when Geoff is singing the lead. J is now singing with the US Naval choir and has a beautiful R&B influenced voice. John Pinto went on to perform in Broadway and has done at least one other collaboration with them. They do have a piece called Just Sing that was issued a few months into the pandemic. They reached out to a lot of people they’ve worked with in the past and asked them each to record the song at home and send it to them. They put it together and offered it as a fundraiser for musicians who were put out of work due to the pandemic. When you watch it be sure to put the closed captioning on as it describes each of the people, what they’ve gone on to do and when they’ve collaborated with them. It is two years old so there’s a lot of new people but it gives you a good overview and a little bit of history. Welcome to VoicePlay. You picked two stellar groups to cover in the same day. I don’t normally like country, but I do always listen to Home Free just to see if it’s one I can add to a playlist because they are also insanely talented. Subscribing in hopes that you’re going to cover more of these guys.
I see you guys met Geoff, the bass. He has a crazy 5.5 octave range. Layne is the beatboxer. You have a lot of vp videos to catch up on. Geoff even does solo stuff.
The Righteous Brothers did not originate this song, but it was written as the theme to a 1955 prison movie entitled "Unchained" thus the name of the song. The Righteous Brothers' cover is the most popular and well known. Since you also did a reaction to Home Free, "Man of Constant Sorrows" ( I actually saw that reaction first) you should check out their cover of this song. Enjoy your reactions.
You're starting two rabbit holes in one day! Voiceplay and Home Free both competed on season 4 of the a cappella competition show (Pentatonix won season 3 of that show). They had different lineups then, but there's a video where they collaborated called "Zombies vs. Hillbillies - Survivor". The week before Halloween should be dedicated entirely to A Capella - especially Voiceplay (with maybe Pentatonix "Aha!" and Home Free/Voiceplay "Zombie vs. Hillbilies"). If you want to hold off on Voiceplay's Halloween songs like "Oogie Boogie's Song", maybe try "If I Were a Rich Man/Girl".
Others have already given you lots of information. Just want to say welcome to the VoicePlay sphere. Fans tend to come whenever there's VP on the menue.
Welcome to the Voiceplay rabbit hole. This will keep you busy for quite some time... They are.. in my humble opinion, the best a capella group out there... They have no fancy record labels, No big promoters... Just Voiceplay... I don't think there is a genre that they haven't done.... They can croon as well as any other crooner. They can rock it, Disney it and laugh with and about it..... And if course there is Geoff.... He can break your heart in one video (ain't no sunshine) then. waggle his backside in another.... Buckle up, you're in for a "road trip". (check that one out too for giggles). Subscribed in anticipation. 😊🏴
React to everything! You won't be disappointed. VoicePlay is the best Acapella group and the bass Geoff Castellucci is the best singer. I can't wait to see more reactions from y'all.
I see you've already done one of each, but yea, you can't go wrong with VoicePlay, Home Free, or Pentatonix.... I always describe them as: Voice Play = Theater Kids, Home Free = Small town (country) influenced, Pentatonix = Hip Hop/ Pop but they're all 3 amazing

You two obviously appreciate what they can do which makes it fun to watch you! Try "Carry On My Wayward Son", their new Bonnie Raitt song "I Can't Make You Love Me". GOOD JOB! You have discovered Home Free and Voiceplay. Now I hope you will find PENTATONIX and DIMASH. PENTATONIX is another 5 person acapella genius group and Dimash is the best singer in the world! With all of these, you will be listening to great new performances for a long time. :)
Thank you friend! We have Pentatonix on our list, but we have some Dimash up now friend! We even have a Dimash playlist th-cam.com/video/w4SYaOm9xio/w-d-xo.html
Voiceplay is fantastic! I enjoyed this but I Think Bobby Hatfield ( Righteous Brothers) still owns this song. I was born in the early 50's so I may be a little biased. Geoff Castiluchi is the bass singer. He has some "solo" songs too. I put solo in parentheses because there are usually more than one Geoff in the video because he layers different ranges. Try his rendition of " Sixteen Tons" for a starter.
I agree with the Righteous Brothers. The most played song of the 20th century was You Lost That Loving Feeling. It fell all the way to number 2 in this century. I bet Bobby's cover of Unchained is real close to the top. A lot of reviewers have been doing both live versions for a while. Give the fans what they want. The most radio requested and sung is Happy Birthday. The most copies sold of one song is I think still Bing Crosby's White Christmas. I'm a 53 model myself. Good day
The bass singer is Geoff Castellucci, he has also his own TH-cam channel, check his version of Ain't no sunshine th-cam.com/video/4EsAEOarKW4/w-d-xo.html

Good day
@@jeffkerr4861 I'm a 52 model. Yeah, it's hard to neat Bing Crosby's White Christmas!
