Thanks Victor for another informative video. I like where this is heading. I would love to see Victor talk his way through setting up and eq-ing in an uncooperative acoustic environment (like an apartment or garage). The vast majority of us are dealing with that, and his insight and knowledge would be greatly appreciated.
hey ive just started to record my drums, i have a samson 7 pce drum mic pack ( Q kick, Q snare, Q tom X 3, CO2 X 2 mics) and i run them through a presonus firestudio project interface, and i record in cubace le4. and im quite happy with the sound. all that costs around $1000, and keep in mind that the presonus use firewire instead of USB, although i think you can get firewire to USB adapters.
Almost anything by itself sounds great, especially since that is how we are used to hearing it. But the reason why we EQ it is to great room in the frequency for other sounds, like cutting the low-mids out to have space for the bass guitar. It might have sounded great by itself, but it would've been less than ideal with the rest of the kit.
Hey, would somebody like to tell me a little bit about recording drums? Like recommended started mics, software, mixer, and any other stuff you may need to record drums? Im completely in the dark on recording. Thanks
victor, how can tune in the big hall or open and live open? thnak you for the help! what mixer i can use or what unit i can buy?what mic i can buy,the cheap please but good quality? God bless
If you have money to close mic all the drums then buy a kit from guitar center or musicians choice. Program wise any DAW should work. And mixer, anything you can afford.

obviously not for the bass drum, but I didnt find using low cut filters in the other videos for snare, overhead and so on...
dont you use them at all?

could you explain the three monitor setup? is this used when stereo recording or just surround?
It sounded better near the beginning than it did by the end IMO.
