Also yea, the way people speed to political violence in this game is wild. Played as Germany or srg and got killed for my radical policies like cutting a bit of unemployment benefits, increasing worker rights, decriminalizing weed and cutting some foreign aid.... Truely horrific crimes
My biggest gripe with Democracy 3 Africa is that any "good" policy you pass increases your democracy and liberal meter. I just want to be a benevolent dictator/warlord goddamn it.
You can dissolve a democratic government, but my biggest annoyance is how incompetent all your security services are, like no matter how much you invest in police and state security you get assassinated by roving gangs of Feminists regardless.
I remember when that game came out. I made it my goal to play as an insane Keir Starmer type leftist and it went smoothly as butter. Turns out your economy and social cohesion is directly proportional to climate change spending budget. If you want dark souls difficulty, try plating as a conservative libertarian type. That was my take away after it released. Maybe its changed but I doubt it. Democracy is gay.
I did exactly this and got brutally punished for it every time. Unironically it’s easier to play a full on communist than a more Libertarian or even moderate conservative
Child labour is bad in countries where children dont need to work to eat, in countries where reality doesnt cover that scenario its reality and there is nothing bad about eating and staying alive or supporting your mother and 5 siblings.
The problem are the long term consequences. There will be people and corporations who try to make this a forever situation. Same corporations will slowly try to do the same in rich countries too making the whole planet a miserable place. If there would be a patriotic nation state the bad times would be only temporary but a state what is controlled by the richest will never thrive. The best way to solve this situation is to do that cleaning thing with the russian guy's invention and making enough money during the process, enough money for the family so the young can be sent to europe for education.
Agreed, Democracy 3 and 4 especially are pretty easy even on the hardest difficulty (Environmentalismmaxxing). So a while ago, hoping to find a challenge, I downloaded this game and played the worst most difficult African nation, Senegal. I didn't last longer than a single term (7 years), so I tried again, and again, and again. Your ass gets deposed immediately. You end up having to formulate a turn-by-turn plan with the best policies that give the biggest bang for their buck. Agro-dealer Networks is very cheap and has zero downsides. Import Tariffs reduces unemployment and destroys the Uncompetitive economy crisis, boosting your GDP. Rural Development Grants policy is great, boosting all sorts of important stats. Adult Education subsidies aren't too expensive and boost productivity, GDP, and reduces the Skill Shortage crisis which destroys GDP. Health food subsidies are cheap and help with your absolute rock-bottom health. Tax Shelters makes some unhappy but boosts GDP and reduces your Technological Backwater, and also secretly gives a huge boost to Technological Advantage, which can give a big boost to productivity, which can give you the High Productivity bonus, which further boosts GDP even more. Once you figure out the best policies the hard part becomes figuring out which order to implement them. Do you try fixing the economy first? Or will the militant women's rights group assassinate you before you finish?🙎♀🙎♀🙎♀🔪
I wish it was balanced a bit better however, the opposition party should be the bigger threat rather than terrorism, especially while your policies are still quite mild. Even with fairly liberal female focused policies for example, gender inequality still grows and causes them to radicalize simply because Religious and Conservative pops exist at all in the society. I do prefer the higher difficulty of this to the base game greatly however.
@@CairnEnjoyer Yeah seeing how badly Conservative and Religious pops nuke gender equality which in turn nukes Women's happiness with their mere existence feels a little wacky. What did the devs mean by this??🤔🤔Only in this Africa DLC does the size of certain voting demographics almost directly influence the happiness of another. It could be an interesting concept if implemented better.
I'm Yakub's top guy. What am I going to do? Yakub chose me to lead the revolution. Yakub needs me? Okay, I'll do it. I'm going to bat for you Yakub, I got your back, Yakub!
I looked a bit into the game. Aperantly theres been issues with the fact that the devs are biased towards certain left politics. Ah well not many games like it i guess.
@@CairnEnjoyer I was truly wondering if the game doesn't have a bug with the amount of assassinations being committed - for the sake of realism, I don't remember seeing presidents in democracies getting the axe this much.
Had to cut the music for the first 30 seconds or so due to Copyright.
this game taught me that state policy of every country is largely determined by appeasement of a multitude of terrorist organizations
and women, the WORST!!!
It just makes you laugh, then cry.
"Black female assassins" didn't know this was a Ubisoft game.
Assassin's Creed Liberation released a new DLC, it seems
Accidently firing the wrong advisor, who has done nothing wrong, is a pretty accurate african political RP

I also dislike this, Democracy games in general really punish you for not playing as a Neoliberal Soc-Dem
its really simple chuddie, dictators are the blumpf sith and hecking democracy are the wholesome chungus Jedi who are cool

We Were Kings.
the feminist assassins are out of control dude
Fr we need state mandated homosexuality and a total ban on women.
May be cheaper to ban all these ninja academies 😂
Matriarchs of Justice is a group name that goes so hard
A game to appeal to one of the most basic desires. A balanced budget.
No, balancing the budget and making a competitive economy gets you killed, you need foreign aid and massive debt to pay for dem programmes
@@CairnEnjoyer I can dream Cairn. At least before the Feminist African Assassins get me.
For a hopeful moment I assumed someone finally made an actual Yakub simulator.
Our father deserve the recognition in history.
Yakub simulator would be like that old game Geneforge where you breed monsters to fight for you.
Democracy so good it skipped 1 and 2

According to my lore they arent too big on that
I know nothing about Democracy 3 but the huge number of terrorist organizations could be linked to your sudden lowering of military spending
In the south Africa game I maxed out military spending and it still did nothing.
