This Episode 02 includes placing room tags and dealing with a "phase of construction" issue, placing various types of receptacles into the model for convenience and appliances, assigning load classifications and actual loads, setting up both 120V and 240V connections, and dealing with multiple 1st floor level heights.
This is a brand new multi-episode series covering the creation of a full residential electrical project from start to finish utilizing a publicly available Autodesk architectural house project, as well as out-of-the-box Revit electrical families (as much as possible) to help beginners learn how to model land document electrical designs within Revit.

    Great work. Thanks.
    I have a question.
Why Revit does not let me wire more than 6 receptacles in a circuit. If I do, then the wire size jumps to #10.
Electricians say they can (by Code) install 10 per room. I must be doing something wrong, in other videos I can see they wire 10 without any issue.
    Thanks in advance.

Hey there Kevin! I had this same kind of question recently - has to do with the way Revit calculates voltage drop. I will be doing a video about this soon, as it is often asked about. The basic idea is that Revit is miscalculating the voltage drop on your multi-receptacle circuit and upsizing the wiring for that - not actually for the load. More to come!

hi Rob in this vd in18.00 ,, while using object styles to change the line weight i did what have mention in vid ,,,but it not change the line weight as showing in video

Hey there - without actually reviewing your model, my best guess is that you may have "thin lines" turned on, which will turn all line weights to very thin.

    Hi Rob
First thank you for this helpful tutorial,
my question is regarding associating receptacles to living room level plan,
after doing so and adjusting the height of the receptacles , they became invisible in the view,
so i tried to solve the issue by creating a plan region for the living room and adjusted the view range cut plane value and set the bottom and view depth to the level below,
    now they are visible.
did i do it right or there is a better way to solve this issue.
    thanks again

Hey there Rani - thanks for the comments! And yes, the way you did it with creating a plan region for the sunken living room is perfect! I cover that method in my separate view range / plan region video. In this episode, I cheated and just lowered the bottom of my view range to the level of that living room, because it did not adversely affect the rest of the view, but the plan region is the "right" way to go. Nice Job!

As an electrician who has spent decades on the tools, the more I get into the electrical side of this software the less I like it.

@ it looks like quite a lot of work is needed just to create a floor plan for other trades to use.
