    Hi dear. 69yo ARMY here. They performed this at their last concert in Busan which was a free concert for 100,000 ARMYs. ARMYs from all over the world came. Tickets were given out by lottery...one of those BTS membership perks. Jimin and Suga said in an interview that they used to watch their practice videos one frame at a time until they were perfectly synchronized. They said that they even practiced for everything that could possibly go wrong in a performance.

    In the last bit of Run BTS, the choreography paid tribute to RM’s leadership, with RM positioned at the centre, the hyung line on one side, and the maknae line on the other.

      Yeah, they usually joked among themselves that RM and Jin are usually in the wing position because they take the longest to learn the choreography and struggle the most. Suga only joined with the promise he wouldn't have to dance. But he said eventually he came to love dance about as much as singing. With that said... even the weakest of them are better than almost anyone out there with their choreography because they keep working until it's perfect.

    • @psychokitty71
      @psychokitty71 13 วันที่ผ่านมา +17

      @@TheBioExplorer Jin used to say that he couldn't dance but I think that, during Covid, he realized exactly what you said. Even if he might be the weakest dancer of the seven of them, he's still better than most other people out there. He hasn't commented about how he "can't dance" since they were doing promotions for the MotS:7 album. Jin may not dance with the ease and fluidity of Jimin, J-Hope, or Jungkook, but he can keep up with them in group performances and that's more than most people can say. Even professional dancers are impressed when they see BTS dance.

    • @TheBioExplorer
      @TheBioExplorer 13 วันที่ผ่านมา +6

      @psychokitty71 Exactly right. Plus, they have all grown so much since those early days. Remember when the vocal line didn't write music or rap well? Or when the rap line didn't sing or dance (except JHope) that well.
      They've all grown a lot since then, but they've always done this kind of leap frogging thing off each other.
      When the vocal line first arrived as trainees and really didn't know much at all... RM & Suga taught them about rap & hip-hop... giving them playlists to listen to and had what the guys later referred to later as the School of Hip-Hop. Seeing this, then JHope started it for dance as well.
      This was all outside of their required practices. Even Taeyang of Big Bang remembered an early conversation with the BTS members where they were asked what they did on their days off... and instead of talking about parties or games... the members said they worked on their music. That made him take notice. Taemin of Shinee said something similar. He said that it impressed them to see BTS because unlike a lot of groups, BTS took everything seriously.
      As the vocal line grew... the rap line started working on improving their vocals. They all amaze me with how hard they work and the evolutions they've gone through as a group and as individuals.They've each grown tremendously through this solo period.
      I know they are all worried about what they feel they may lose while serving. I know Jin felt rusty and he said that Jimin even said he has forgotten how to sing. That hurts my heart a little even though I know they will get it back.
      But just imagine something you lived and breathed every day for over 12 years and you suddenly can't do it at all for 18 months?
      Even though a break now and then is a good thing. It has to be hard going that long. 🥺 it will be okay, though. ARMY will make sure theyvl know we believe in them.

    As a former dancer and choreographer, I noticed over the years that BTS strategically chooses their setlist during their concerts - choosing which songs will be coming one after the other, putting in some slower songs in between for a breather, at some points doing solo performances here and there, so that they don't overexert themselves as a group too much. During the BTS Yet to Come in Busan concert, this was even more obvious because after a few fast and high energy starter songs, they obviously slowed things down while the rap line changed costumes and prepared for their rap set. Jin was vocal in a previous interview about doing less choreo after a while. I think a lot of them are thinking the same but they'd definitely do amazing choreographies as long as their bodies would allow it - but most likely less complex and tiring than previous years. Either way, we know they'd deliver their utmost best, and we'd love the group even if they simply sit around and focus on their vocals during their performances. :)

    This was the best IN YOUR FACE to everyone trying to hate, use and abuse profit off BTS. Period after hiatus announcement but not yet all going military so it was "their old, boy bands break up, finally time for others, not patriotic trying to get out of service, Busan using them to qualify for world trying to have them pay for the concert, government dangling carrots about service. And then the concert finally happened and bonus on Jimins birthday. They had some solos and new looks slamming and EVERYONE brought it. Every single one could be named a main dancer and best of all they just had stank face fun. V and Suga talking to you. Did the same w/ ON but this was their blood and sweat in your face! And best of all...oh we are all going to service CU 2025 Peace! Idiots still had more to say when they just didn't fade away and produced during service so 2025s concert and inthe SOOP OT7 will be EPIclC!! If I reach 2025 it's for that.

      The concert was 2 (?) days after Jimin's birthday on the 15th (?). I remember that 2 days before a lot of Army visited his father's caffee to celebrate and give gifts to him for Jimin.
      While I appriciate everyone in the group choreography there are still some members in the group that stick out while dancing - but less so in the group choreo and this time they had only the Vocal/Rap units and group.
      The politicians that wanted the Expo could not plan their way out of a paperbag. That was a desaster waiting to happen. After what happened actually with the Itaewon crush I'm happy that no one left them in control of any of that.

      I don't think it is a joke "between BTS and Army".
      Sometimes it just happens that a member is wildly dressed differently than the rest.
      It can be seen amusing but I don't see the joke. Army find that funny but I highly doubt any of the members do that on purpose.
      I'm not sure I have seen them joking about it.
      And critic?

    At one time, kpop groups were scientifically analyzed for their ability to be in sync. BTS won by a long shot. The study was started because the kpop industry was surprised by how in-sync the guys were and wanted comparisons. Over the years they started relaxing and although very much in-syn, not nearly as rigid as they were to begin with - as others have noted - it was eye movement, practice for something falling apart, finger movement etc.

  • @ideagirl
    @ideagirl 13 วันที่ผ่านมา +13

    Your question about their future choreography is a good one. Here is my opinion as a dancer. The way they dance "so hard" their knees will start hurting. I speak from experience. Jin has already complained. Suga, too. They want easier choreography. If i was their choreographer, this is what I would add to their training. Ballet and Yoga. Ballet dancers are among the most fit dancers. Because their cores are solid. And they learn how to jump and jump and jump some more without hurting their knees. With the yoga they could achieve complete flexibility. All muscles stretched and warmed and healthy. No muscle spasms. My main wish for them is to lighten their schedule. NOT work 360 days a year. More days off to keep their bodies and muscles rested.Their poor bodies never got to relax. It's so important not to get muscle and body fatigue. It lessens the injuries. We'll see. It may not be as complicated, but it will be unique and impressive. They won't give that up!

    • @ruthfischer7615
      @ruthfischer7615 12 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I wouldn't use either Jin or Suga as the expert on dancing.
      Jin complained pretty early because he had to work so much harder than most of the others but has not that much fun with dancing or at least hard dancing.
      Suga does not get enough sleep and his shoulder was injured before debut which took his interest in dance way down. But after his shoulder surgery in fall of 2020 (and the following rehab) he has taken dance lessons and seems to have fun with it.
      The only one I know that would be a valid measure would probably be Jimin and he did not talk much about it as far as I'm aware. We know that once his back cramped so badly that he could not move. Which was the reason why he was not on the Graham Norton show with the other members.
      As Psy said to Suga he will laugh when Suga is the age Psy is "now" and still dances and Suga seemed pretty content with that analysis.

    This is how I was introduced to BTS. I was IMMEDIATELY obsessed and watched “ON Kinetic Manifesto” right after watching this. My bias was established… same guy in both songs, but I didn’t realize it at the time (JK). I love them all though. This is one of my favorites. You should watch them do this live. They sang “Mic Drop” and immediately went into this song. JK only had like 5 seconds to catch his breath and V probably only had 10 seconds. Two high-energy, great performances back to back.
    I’ve wondered the same thing. I “think” there will be less full choreography in songs and more just performing and maybe doing the iconic part of some songs. They already do that a lot in concerts and it works great.

    7:17 Yes this is totally true. I didn't grow up with Nsync or Backstreet boys but I would casually listen to them when I got older out of curiosity and I thought they were cool. I did kinda grow up with One Direction though they were a huge part of my teenage years and at the time I thought they were so good. That is of course until I discovered BTS a little over a year ago and that's when I realized that all of those boybands were so basic. Like I still like them and all but they are your average western boybands where 1 or 2 members are carrying the group and they don't really do choreography.
    BTS are a music group who literally do it all, make their own music, and where each member is essential, has their own unique skills and brings so much to the table. I saw how American audience and superstars reacted to BTS debuting on their award shows for the first time ever and it was so entertaining. It was all new to them and they kept saying it's very different from anything they've seen before. I remember Trevor Noah being blown away after seeing them dance then saying " Nsync really got away with a lot of shit back in the day" 😂

When I was young I loved groups like the Temptations, The Four Tops, Gladys Knight & The Pips etc, who incorporated movement with their beautiful music. BTS just take that to another level!!! They have given me an appreciation for so many styles of music that I would never listen to previously, everything from our amazing rapline through to Taehyung's jazz, I love it all. The minute details that our boys put into their choreography, even pushing their chins when they have to move their faces in another direction sets them apart. You have to watch their dance so carefully. Thank you for your daily posts, I so look forward to your reactions, it really does make my day 🫰💜

    It's show his leader ship that he always support his team from back he is not the one who came in front to take all the credits.

    I agree with you 100% about the comparison of choreography of the US groups and K-Pop boy groups! There is no comparison! I am a 71 year old Army and have been for 7 years now. I think BTS are amazingly talented young men and feel fortunate to have found them a few years back. I thoroughly enjoy them. I am new to your channel and enjoying your coverage of BTS! TY. In 2019 I traveled to Chicago to see a BTS concert with other family members and felt rather funny at my age going to see them but was surprised at how many Army older than myself was there so then I didn't feel so out of place and I have found that other Army's are very kind and welcoming! I do appreciate that! V is my bias and Suga is my favorite rapper.

    Don't worry, Trevor Noah said the same thing on his talk show about how American Boy Bands had it so easy compared to BTS. He got to see them at the Grammies and even talked with them because I think he was the host that year. I like listening to you talk about BTS. I live in an area that likes more country than anything else so finding Army here is hard. From one of the other commenters, yes I think you should watch the Busan concert. It was really great! The concert was special because it was free for Army. They even tried live streaming it except Weverse crashed for most people. They did end up playing it again for all the people like me who missed half the show. Sometimes its crazy to think about how much BTS loves Army and how much Army loves BTS. In most fandoms(not Kpop) the fans love the bands but the bands are meh about the fans. Also True Army loves True Army as well and it feels so wonderful to fit in somewhere. I say true Army because there are toxic people calling themselves Army but they are really only following one of the boys and usually say bad things about the rest.

    I think they are all thinking about how the choreography will work when they are older, too, but my thoughts are that their sunbae/senior Rain is still doing amazing choreography performances on stage at 42, so it is possible although they would need to take really good care of themselves physically. ( And they clearly already train like Olympic athletes, IMO.) And I feel that ARMY 9:56 will support them even as the choreo gets rarer, IMO. Yoongi's concert series had him doing virtually no choreography (although the backup dancers did), just performing his music, and it totally worked. I think what we will see as they get older is fewer big choreography centered songs but more solo and subunit work that doesn't need choreo to be good. But they are already thinking ahead because they have mentioned wishing they could perform even if they're 60, so they must have a vision for it.

    Oh YES, you will Love the Live Performance. Watching the dance practice first works with this song. Because you can see the details of every formation and step. There are no strobing lights, no all black outfits, no weird camera angles, and nothing to distract you. The Live seems to not always show full and wide shots. You saw the actual choreography in this practice. There is a Behind the Scenes version which shows something very interesting. The choreographer sent a video tape of the choreography to BTS. And they taught it to themselves. Of course, JHope takes the lead. But each member could come to the dance studio on their own time and practice. However, someone came to teach and organize the backup dancers. Here was the secret about this choreography. They would only be doing it once. And it had never been seen before. Because this Busan concert would be their last concert together before they all started solo work. But Army didn't know that. It had not been announced yet. Later, we found out something else. Jin was going to start the military in the spring of that year. But the guys talked him out of it. To enter in the fall after the concert. Because they did NOT want to do the last concert without Jin. So he waited just for them. Did they really catch that bandana? Look again.

    I still like a few songs from the BSB. I never listened to Ncync or any other, let alone One Direction... And I am also around 40, so i have known other boy bands out there, obviously you get to listen to some of their songs... and yes, i agree with you. Better not to compare. I still like, as I said, a few bunch of BSB songs; they had good voices. Never knew about their lives... But i cannot put them next to BTS. I feel like it would not be fair to them. It is like comparing a bean with a pumpkin.

They just seem to ravel in being on stage performing. Oh you just have to see this done this and Mic Drop the opening 2 number's of their Busan Yet To Come Concert before Jin went (now Back) to the military.

    This is the first time they are performing it!! Army's most anticipated dance performance.
    Please do watch "Louder than Bombs" too which has a different vibe and it is the most requested song by army to perform live.but RM admitted they can't perform it live because of the pitch of the song and other technical problems.So there is no live performance for that song.Once JK tried to sing it in his live but he couldn't sing and he just laughed and admitted that he can't. 😀
