The only thing I don't like about this version is that Vortex isn't in the band anymore and an entire choir is not as powerful and majestic has his voice. I was lucky enough run into him and Shagrath, the lead singer in Oslo 3 weeks after seeing them live here in Colorado. I was on vacation and they had just returned home from their North American tour. And it was the Norwegian independence day. And I lost my virginity that night. Best vacation ever. You guys should react to some Fleshgod Apocalypse if you haven't already. The Violation is a good song to go with.
That sounds like an epic series of events. That's awesome! I've gotten to see them twice with Vortex so I second this notion. I wish youtube was more of a thing when Vortex was in the band. I also second the notion of doing Fleshgod Apocalypse.
Also without the genius Mustis, i think the sound of the Keyboard in this song like the old concerts is more powerful and suitable to black metal vibe !!
So the part when the choir came in is the part ICX Vortex sang on the album. I love that guys voice! Some newer stuff he’s part of is Borknagar. Try the song Winter Thrice by them!
Hahaha the face when she noticed the whole freakin orchestra sitting on stage! Nice reaction. May I suggest to also show her "The Serpentine Offering" (or now known as Shadow Of Intent's "Embracing Nocturnal Damnation")? Keep it up guys, good work! \m/
The orchestra playing with Dimmu is called "Kork" (Kringastings Orkesteret) they are sponsored by the state. Norwegian Black Metal is considered as national culture in Norway by the state, therefore the state orchestra plays with our fantastic metal bands. They have also played with bands like Satyricon etc.. perks of living in a social democracy ;)
This consert was shown on norwegian national TV. the orchestra is The Norwegian Radio Orchestra (KORK). on that show they had a few clips from the practice they did together and the "leader" of KORK said it was amazing and that it was like Edward Grieg on steroids (jk). a few of the people in the orchestra had the dimmu Borgir shirts on them when playing :D
Hey! I'm glad yall reviewed this. It's the first Dimmu song I heard while still in my teens. I think my fav would be The Insight and the Catharsis or Kings of Carnival Creation.
I can just imagine this song in an epic movie battle, something like Lord of the Rings. The full concert @Razz mentions in his comments is available online and a must see.
If you do not understand the last vocals you can go check them from: Red hot chili peppers - Dark Necessities - song. and hopefully then you will comprehend the true nature of human kind, it's not very nice, even if you like to think it is.
I really appreciate Dimmu Borgir 🥁🎸🎸🎶🎵🎧🔈🔉🔊.. but I have to go with Septicflesh on the live front . They are on another level...🔥🔥🔥🔥..great reaction guys...keep safe and healthy.. ♥️🖤♥️🖤
There is a newer metalcore band I discovered today called a night with wolves the have a pretty sick instrumental out you should check em out and give em some love!
Being head banger lol i like bunch of different genres, this song is dark and the ending is off the hook, first take for sure, its Complete - Taxi, worth checking out
So much good stuff by these guys. One of my all-time faves. You almost have to whip out the death cult Armageddon and puritanical euphoric misanthropia albums. My favorite song of theirs is Hybrid Stigmata: the apostasy. Would love to see you introduce Chels to Cradle of Filth by easing her in with Nymphetamine. She would probably have to become accustomed to dani's voice before hearing their old greats, like Bathory Aria or Dusk and her Embrace. One thing for sure though, is that there is probably not a better Lyricist than Dani.
Puritanical Euphoric Misanthropia is by favorite by them. So many great songs on that album! And i agree, I think it may be time to introduce Chels to some Cradle! - Mat
Not bad but Studio versions so much clearer, and No ICS Vortex just ruins it especially if your used to ICS Vortex singing the choir part. I know bands move on and band members come n go but if your new to a band you gotta hear the original for the effect it made when it 1st came out
Some would say bands like Dimmu Borgir and Cradle of Filth killed Black metal but IMO they brought it to the forefront of mainstream and helped make it very popular
The female might like to react to such as Buck's fizz, ABBA or..... (fill in the blanks) . over the dotted line...This is definately not her cup of tea.
🤦 I'll never understand why people react to love versions for the first time. It's just not the same. Especially since there's no vortex. The choir isn't nearly as good. Try to listen to the actual song next time.
Symphonic black metal at its finest. When Norway runs out of crude oil & salmon, I bet they'll still have black metal in its various forms.

This was a fucking roller coaster
that's an awesome story, bro!
So what was better, meeting Shagrath and Vortex or the secks?
Also without the genius Mustis, i think the sound of the Keyboard in this song like the old concerts is more powerful and suitable to black metal vibe !!
Metal and classical music is and will always be a brilliant combination
I agree so hard.
Septicflesh is a testament to that.
Plz react to Gateways from this same concert!!!! You guys will be amazed for sure!
Second that! \../.
3rd 🤘🏻
Gateway is my all time favorite 🖤🖤🖤
So the part when the choir came in is the part ICX Vortex sang on the album. I love that guys voice! Some newer stuff he’s part of is Borknagar. Try the song Winter Thrice by them!
Arcturus, and he released a solo album blackmobile
Yass! Hahah, I really enjoy for your reaction this video! We want more reacts of this band by Dimmu Borgir!

My absolute favorite band. I specially love The Mourning palace live @ wacken. The trombone guy is just freaking awesome in that video.
Trombone guy is the real MVP
I was at that concert, and yes, it was fucking amazing!

Thank you for reacting to this video! I've loved this song for so long, but I had never seen this performance...OMG the fucking chills! :D
DIMMU F*CKING BORGIR! Hell yes!!! Pls for now one more of them!!!!!!
I was om this concert in may 2011. Oslo Spectrum. One of the best.
The intro strongly reminds me of the Batman: The Animated Series opening theme and I fucking loved it.
I was mesmerized by Chels falling asleep throughout the second half of this song.
Hey! I'm glad yall reviewed this. It's the first Dimmu song I heard while still in my teens. I think my fav would be The Insight and the Catharsis or Kings of Carnival Creation.
you should check out the original POTGA with vortex on the bass, vortex is singing the choir part and hoooly hell that man can sing
In kc I was at that dimmu and Danzig show I believe so skeleton witch was there as well.
I was lucky to see them twice in kc back in 2007 with devil driver and 2008 with Danzig
I’ve been waiting for this.
The very first song that made me realize i can do extreme vocals, no 1 band for me..
Best symphonic death
SEPTICFLESH - Enemy of truth
(Lyric video has the artwork of Seth Siro Anton, bass and vocals of the band)
combining classical music and metal is amtch made in "heaven". Very emotional
King of black metal
This Song is based on the MAIN THEME of the HELLRAISER Movies !
take a look at mourning palace its my favorite song of them
This should be a superhero theme the beginning of this song
I can just imagine this song in an epic movie battle, something like Lord of the Rings. The full concert @Razz mentions in his comments is available online and a must see.
How about Mourning Palace(Wacken 2012), outstanding performance and a show to remember..

Are you ready to destroy my friends?!!
There is a newer metalcore band I discovered today called a night with wolves the have a pretty sick instrumental out you should check em out and give em some love!
the crowd must've gotten possessed.
I Was there
It's like Howard shore meets metal
Being head banger lol i like bunch of different genres, this song is dark and the ending is off the hook, first take for sure, its Complete - Taxi, worth checking out
Should listen to Satyricon mother earth from the album live from the opera.
I just got around to seeing this. She looks unimpressed by this. In fact she really looks bored.
Tetriconia - alone in time
The cleans were meant to be done by the bassist, but as he left the band, the choir did it instead.......
Mat high af :D
You guys should check out Hell Chose Me by Carnifex or Malediction by Shadow of Intent, love the channel guys.
They where acquired....

BRING BACK VORTEX
I suggest the new song from female thrash metal band called Nervosa. Song called Guided by evil. m.th-cam.com/video/9xs2YGGrbZA/w-d-xo.html
Gutalax Shitbuster. Video Please

please react to cradle of filth queen of winter throned
You can tell the girl would much prefer listening to Beyoncé or something.
2008
Some would say bands like Dimmu Borgir and Cradle of Filth killed Black metal but IMO they brought it to the forefront of mainstream and helped make it very popular
Lol it was slightly atrocious but love you guys
It was but I had to try! - Mat
The female might like to react to such as Buck's fizz, ABBA or..... (fill in the blanks) . over the dotted line...This is definately not her cup of tea.
The 2004 virgin live from Ozzfest le far better !
It was an amazing live performance yet she looks bored/not interested .
Not even a facial or emotional reaction .
🤦 I'll never understand why people react to love versions for the first time. It's just not the same. Especially since there's no vortex. The choir isn't nearly as good. Try to listen to the actual song next time.
