I feel like the lyric here "handsome, you're a mansion with a view" gets overlooked so many times cause the pace of the song is quite fast. I love how she phrased it like that instead of the same "you're beautiful inside and out"
The MV I believe is all about her being 'invisible' for a year. After 1989 she was on Top, but then the kimye drama happened and she was 'Cancelled'' so that was her rock bottom no one likes her that time, her Reputation is really bad, she went away for a whole year , no one saw her. While she was away from the 'spotlight' she was dancing 'goofy' I think it means she was being herself, not caring what other people thinks, she was free. The 'note you see in the beginning of the video is a note to meet to that bar at the end, where we think she and Joe meets in secret at the beginning of their relationship. She and Joe started a relationship when she was in hiding , when she was at rock bottom so she said in the song 'this ain't for the best , my reputation's never been worse so you must like me for me' they're in a delicate situation she's starting to fall for him but she's not sure if it's the right time .
Possibly one of my fave songs/videos from her career. Super underrated but with the context and her just finally being happy and carefree is so awesome to see. Not to mention reputation is fucking AMAZING. The bridge here is def one of my faves from the album too.

Love delicate. Love the video, underrated. Notice how she is followed by her body guards and no one sees her for who she is, just her persona. She meets a guy named Joe and at the very beginning, which is the entire album Reputation, but its the worst time of her life. She is insecure. Does he like her for her, who she is, or does he only see her and her reputation. He must really like her then. But, she can’t make any promises to him and she is scared to let him know. This video is really just finally allowed to be herself, something she is rarely allowed to be. I love the end, in the rain, dancing. She could never do that in real life, its very singing in the rain vibes. Then, she walks into the dive bar to meet Joe and everyone turns to look who walked in the door from the rain, they see her. But notice, they see her but they don’t care who she is. They don’t get out their phones to take a pic, they don’t care that Taylor Swift just walked in the door. they go back to doing whatever they are doing. And, she looks and sees Joe in the back, and is relieved because he (and the people in the bar) finally see her, not her persona and her fame. Just a normal person who walked into the bar and she is relieved and happy for once.
