Saw them many times in Portsmouth…the Chronicle of the black sword tour in 1985 was the loudest gig I have been to. So loud it was effecting my balance.
Love Arthur love this line up and performance, saw em at Liverpool empire maybe. 79-80 frickin unbelievable concert, went with some top mates from Runcorn, proper stoned, squidgy black, first ten minutes just the amp lights visible , then two banks of multi coloured rectangular lights started playing games with the head, i have to start laughing every time I replay it in my mind, thanks hawks , fantastic futuristic original quality underated band. Big up respek hoghead 04-20
@@europainvicta3907Simon King was their drummer from Doremi up to PXR5 and his last recording with Hawkwind was Live ‘79. I saw that tour and he was still really good at what he did.
Correct they went down the tube when there only good one left Lemmy went on to be a superstar in the rock world with motorhead while there universe imploded
Good stuff. PS Dave. It was me throwing stones off yer Merc camper van window at Rollright c.1987. Only cos I saw you doing the washing up and thought I'd have a laugh like. I was in the camouflaged Bedford CF next to you. Ha ha. Good times....
I can remember seeing them on the Levitation tour in 80 or 81 when their drummer was, quite bizarrely, Ginger Baker. He walked on wearing white top hat & tails. As you’d expect, he was an incredible drummer. The entire gig for me was only slightly impaired by the guy standing behind me. Obviously a Simon King fan, he spent much of the gig roaring, ‘Fuck Off Ginger’, his efforts rather ruined by the fact that his one voice was completely drowned out by the avalanche of sound coming from the stage. I seem to remember that not too long after, when Baker had got bored/been fired/walked away (take your pick) he toured Italy with a band calling himself ‘Hawkwind’ which caused some confusion and Brock probably reaching for his lawyer. Happy daze…..
Love Arthur doing Arthur ...not a fan when he did the 'wind though, and I endured it more than a few times. He aces his own stuff but just aint there for the 'wind IMO.
Not the same band as the Seventies! went to see them at Margate Dreamland (unrecognisable) No Nick Turner etc Bit of a joke! Never the same after Bob Calvert left/died and Lemmy left!!!
@spunkfish There's so many to choose from but I loved choose your masques and solitary mind games. First time I heard it November 84 and it's never aged that haunting repeating harmonic and the solo...gives me goosebumps even now.
@spunkfish I am the master of the universe solo on Chronicles of the black sword. But I have to say if push came to shove it would be his stuff on the xenon codex. Langton on slide. The production and Davey's bass just blew my mind in 88 when I heard it.
The greatest band ever to grace this poor world of ours x❤
No I'm afraid never got anywhere seen them in Aberdeen they were useless fact and I'm a hard rock fan I should know totally rubbish in Aberdeen gig
I was there my home city Newcastle
A nice album about your hometown recorded 1969 by The Nice with Keith Emerson called Five Bridges, one of the first productions Rock with Classic
I was there also, home town Wallsend.
The drummer is phenomenal.
Hawkwind drummer's usually are.
Yes.. cool and ✌️ from Finland
Saw them@Wolverhampton 015 and thought he was the star of the show that night...
Par excellence...
I was proud to be his Drum Tech on this tour. A truly magnificent Drummer and dude🎶🎶
1985 Bristol bike show. Hawkwind did Master of the Universe in a distant thunderstorm, well worth finding the video of it on TH-cam 😎😎😎😎
Im sick of putting likes lmao 🤣 hawkwind FOREVER ..this is your captain speaking you're captain is dead

Lucky enough to see them on the space ritual tour in the seventys
another perfect performance from Davy. . . . . .. .
The classic Brock Davey LLangton Chadwick combo! I saw them with Nik as well once.....the best!

Köszönöm
Great ole Composition ! ♦️
I keep coming back to see Arthur fuk up hilarious . . .
Great performance - love Arthur Brown
Whenever I see a Rickenbacker bass I get excited.
Ooooo feels so nice to listen to HAWKWIND
Complete with Rickenbacker bass and Arthur Brown! What could be greater? Just loving it!!!
I remember them days
Absolute class
Hardcore rocking out & living for the music & moment never hurt these guys or others like ‘em.F9&k Yh !🤟🏻🎼
A phenomenal video featuring a legend > *Arthur Brown* 🎤 < The best *Live version* of this song
Hawkwind My best sound of psychedelic !
yeahhh!
Excellent. 🎸💥🦅
Awesome !
I remember them as a TYA tribute band until they had their cerebral cortex lifted one night in Turnham Green during the mid 60s.
Unbelievably more than a good legend > *Arthur Brovn* < Very fiercely played *BRAVO*
Its Hawkwindtime!
A very good recording
Brock, Davey, Lloyd and Brown. Their best line-up since the 70's
pity Brown not remember the words
Alan Davey should be honoured with a headwear upgrade from medieval serf/executioner to Knight of The Celestial Temple for that performance.
KINGGGG AAARTHURRRRRR. Yep! He's at it again, none better than a medieval melody maker. Yeach!
Especially with Arthur on flight yeah 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍 love u lots n for fivers u k
Same drummer from Space Ritual I believe. My favourite drummer of ever.
No its not. This drummer is Richard Chadwick. He joined much later. Simon King played on Space Ritual.
Thankyou for correction.
@@europainvicta3907Simon King was their drummer from Doremi up to PXR5 and his last recording with Hawkwind was Live ‘79. I saw that tour and he was still really good at what he did.
Not seen many drummers then have you ????
Arthur Brown, off his face. Now there' a rarity.
I love this band, never were the same after DikMik and Lemmy left
Lemmy wasn't in it for long
Correct they went down the tube when there only good one left Lemmy went on to be a superstar in the rock world with motorhead while there universe imploded
The bezinning
The beginning of everything : Lemmy and Arthur Browne (fire)

This is crap who is that piss taking prick?
I'm a huge fan and have dozens of cd's/ dvd's, the only recording of this song that is worth a damn is on their Studio c/d. Peace.
Sorry, first minute of "Space Ritual" is definitive. The spaceship launches...
two brock guitar tracks
I can almost smell the dry ice fog and psilocybin. No other band like this.

Play at 0.75 x speed to closer match the album - Who knew that the band that kicked out Lemmy would be preforming a song too fast for me?
I saw an interview with Lemmy where he said, "Hawkwind were a heavy band, we just didn't have the amps in those days".
Hawkwind on a Blueshawk!
2:02 gave me goosebumps
Proper
Love Arthur doing Arthur ...not a fan when he did the 'wind though, and I endured it more than a few times. He aces his own stuff but just aint there for the 'wind IMO.
can't keep me way entertainment does get much better than this in the musical board treading. . . . . . go Huw et al. . .
HLL's playing a Gibson Nighthawk, cool.
Ty Segall brought me here.
Fuck me they are still the best.
Don't think so rubbish got nowhere with there music they ended up with no cash fact
OMG! That's Arthur Brown singing..! I can catch the voice and his dance. He's a little out of time, but......... an epic lineup!
He did alot of shit with em! Listen to Captain" Lockheed and the Starfighters"
Arthur Brown out of time??? Never ever!!!
@dilettantole listening again, it's been awhile... he's got it, always did!
Jep! :D Tinja&Markku :D
others may disagree . .I couldn't comment . .
Radonjic Dragan comment > The *BEST* version of this great live song !!!
The best is on Chronicles of the black sword live...this is the worst I've seen of them and I'm a big fan.
and fancy footwork by the Fireman . . ..
How many of these guys are gone now?
So thats where MC Hammer got his pants!
Lemmy's the Master of the Universe 🖕
Tänk att de önnu spelar, finns kvar.
Dont get me wrong i do like this version, it really works well as a rock song. But you can't beat the original version with Nik on vocals.
ahahaha can't keep me away . . . . take them all away!.. . .
is it hawthur brown
yeah
yeap. . .
a very tight hawkwind at this time . .i was just saying . . . .
yea check out the well known lemmy number
Arthur Brown
They are much better in the studio
Not the same band as the Seventies! went to see them at Margate Dreamland (unrecognisable) No Nick Turner etc Bit of a joke!
Never the same after Bob Calvert left/died and Lemmy left!!!
So true ...
Rich from Stoat hall on drums - lol
Listening to hawkwind without lemmy is like listening to black sabbath without Ozzy it’s good but not whole
😢😂😅
Why dont engishmen have beer guts?
Their life style, Unlike America where there’s a fast joint every two steps, they make positive choices.
A lot do...just not the ones doing a shitload of drugs to keep the gut off!
only alan could could back up lemmy
yea but this version is souped up
Sorry, Arthur Brown doesn't not belong here; thumb me down but it's true.
Absolutely. Hew Lloyd Langton played like he was washed out. Very poor performance from a legendary band.
@@allanmiller6897 Huw was very ill at the time... unfortunately... but AB cocked the gig for sure...
@@allanmiller6897 Yes poor old boy he was getting ill about this time I thought he was dying
Great line-up. Shame Arthur Brown was shit! He's a legend, but he really fucked this up!
I love hew Lloyd Langton but this is the worst I've seen of him and hawkwind. Worst version of masters ever. They must of been high on petrol fumes.

I love outside the law too...simple genious.
