      Take psychology as a minor not major unless you're studying purely for passion. Psychology undergraduates are unfortunately useless.

    Studying psychology this year! Loving your lectures so far, you explain the material so casually, yet so precise and engaging 👌

    Yeah, 43:00, one could say that the problem of psychology is the many different levels of explanation that are only part of the whole, but are very often used as a paradigmatic, all encompassing explanation.
    Eg. Behaviourism; everything (important) is behaviour
    Cognitice psychology; everything (important) is about thoughts
    Social psychology; everything (important) is about the social
    But there is no unifying framework to put all these aprroach into coherence.
    Cognitive psych; everything

    21:46 seriously girl? Cats can also carry babies and that doesn't make them high order mammals. I was going to say humans are aware of their own conscious processes and can reflect on their experiences.

    • @ThatGuy-ub9tm
      @ThatGuy-ub9tm 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Cats are domesticated animals - the domestic forms only exist because we selectively bred them to exhibit behaviors and physical characteristics that make us comfortable, this separates them from their wild native counterparts. We have specifically designed domestic cats (and dogs) to mimic and exhibit higher-order mammal traits.

    Fast forwards 26 minutes, evolution has zero affect/relevance on how my brain is sectioned and how it functions. 🤨

    • @019carter
      @019carter 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It's not speaking about Evolution remember it's a psychology class he's comparing the different mental parts of those three regions of the brain to those animals and how they operate just something to allow you to remember it a little easier
