"LAANG KAWAL" by 2LT Ricky A. Bunao, RSW

"LAANG KAWAL" is an original song composed by Mr. Ricky A. Bunao, a Social Worker by profession working at the Department of Social Welfare and Development. Mr. Bunao is currently holding a position of Social Welfare Officer V with various experiences in the field of social welfare and development and presently managing the sectoral concerns and partnership.
Mr. Bunao joined the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) as one of the Commissioned Officers in 2016 with an initial rank of Second Leutenant. He undergone the Reserved Officers Military Orientation Training (ROMOT) at the AFP Headquarters and attended the Professional Development Course (PDC) under US Guam- Philippines state partnership agreement. He attended also other military tactical skills and operation seminars like Incident Command System, Civil Military Operations, Military Intelligence and Security Operations Management among others.
LT Bunao actively reports the AFP headquarters every saturday and also a trainor, lecturer on Gender and Development, Gender Sensitivity/Equality, Military Leadership and Courtesy, Basic Human Rights, Combating Criminalities, Insurgences and Gender Based Violence, Men Opposed to Violence Everywhere (MOVE) and other advocacies i.e. VAWC, Drug Abuse Education and Prevention, and advocated the Male Involvement in promoting family preservation and strengthening to different offices of the Armed Forces of the Philippines, DSWD and various goverment agencies, Academe and Faith Based Organizations, among others.
LT Bunao recognized and appreciated the learnings and experiences provided to him by the AFP hence, he also initiated his contribution to the military force in other ways by composing the song entitled "LAANG KAWAL" . He dedicate this song to all uniformed personnel (organic, commissioned officers, enlisted and civilian) and he acknowledged the support of his ROMOT CL-01-2016 batch now Buklod Tala Professionals where he is the current President of the organization.
