  • Having recently been, I can say from experience that Japan is a magical place. Clean streets, friendly people, and the most delicious food. Not to mention the public transportation! So if we can't go to Japan, how wonderful that a little piece of Japan can come to us. On this ride we go across the city to Little Tokyo. It's one of three official Japan Towns in the country - one in San Francisco, one is San Jose, and the biggest one right here in Los Angeles. And what makes me even happier is that, like in Japan, there is matcha EVERYWHERE! So stop #1 is to get a matcha smoothie (!), after which we check out the Japan Village with its traditional Japanese architecture and hanging lanterns, then a Japanese plaza to get some amazing onigiri, and then down the street to the Arts District to get some coffee amidst a block party. We might not have needed to get on a plane, but we were transported miles away to the wondrous land of the rising sun.
