Some mattress DO NOT put the fiberglass on label, I had to call the company and ask, the mattress had 8% fiberglass yet not on the label.
Hi, you mentioned in your 8 Best Mattresses Without Fiberglass article that Nectar has fiberglass that is "layered - not woven", is that better or worse than woven fiberglass in terms of safety? Also, for a mattress cover to potentially keep a mattress with fiberglass from leaking, is there anything you would recommend as being of particular importance, like one that is organic cotton, or waterproof, or zips all the way around? Should any "breathable" ones be considered less useful in this regard? Any recommendations of qualities or specific brands would be appreciated. Thanks for any advice you can give, we bought a Nectar mattress a while ago and have only found out about the fiberglass recently, and are trying to make the best of it.
It was customer support that told me that the fiberglass was layered into the mattress - but I haven't seen it first hand so I don't know if it's loose or woven in.
In terms of protection, one strategy that might work is to completely encase the mattress in a bed bug protector; this would potentially stop the cover from being torn.

But is there good mattresses without fiberglass that are not hybrids? I just came across all this about fiberglass late last night. We were having our Zinus 12" green tea memory foam gel mattress delivered today. Hubby called and canceled. We are wanting a mattress without fiberglass that is like this mattress. I can't see any evidence of it when checking the mattress I have. I'd go with the Nolah Natural if you really want to be sure
