I can say that video at start was way wrong about hitting cricket is easy than baseball.no the very player test and cricket player itself was not proper.Bat circumference is not all a tough thing because you expect a full toss bowl only. That too your eyes are fixed on that ball till the contact of bat.while in cricket there are speed variations, pitch variations, air variation, moisture variation, pitcher variation he can bowl from left ,right spin or fast from either side of wickets and it is not that simple in that test of that baseball guy would simply hit that ball he would be easily out at the boundary line as the ball can be bowled from head to toe to any angle and speed and length and line.plius when ball pitches your eyes has to shift the focus from release point to pitch point then from there judge all those factors mentioned above keeping in mind fielders, runs required, wickets in hand.then you select a bloody shot.

In baseball you get big celebrations for runs because they don't happen often, and outs are just something you expect; in cricket it's the other way round.
The wicket keeper wears gloves (and leg protection) for the same reason as the catcher - he's receiving a *lot* of high-speed balls that would do a lot of damage to his hands.
What often gets missed when comparing the speed of a baseball pitch and a cricket ball being bowled and talking about how long the batter has to react is that a cricket batter has to react to the ball moving off the pitch so doesn't have as long to make the final shot selection as a baseball hitter has to decide whether or not to swing. You also sometimes get people talking about the baseball moving through the air (and let's face it some guy's sliders and sinkers are *nasty*), but a cricket ball will also do that and curve before it hits the pitch and goes off in a different direction. See videos of Jimmy Anderson and Shane Warne for details :)

@UKJesterVids Fouls tips in baseball are a result of the smaller cylindrical bat, they wouldn't exist in the same form if batters used Cricket bats.
Additionally, while the Cricket batsman may seemingly have less time to react because of the bounce, the reality is that they would still have to track the ball from the hand of the bowler, just like a baseball batter would. The bounce also slows the bowl down and narrows its range of (practical/useful) motion by starting the movement of the bowl closer to the batsman.

Different goals, different rules, different moves, different tools......you cannot judge them the same. People who think and talk like this are really just being petty and close minded. Lastly, it is ok to like one sport more than another, nothing wrong with that! As a baseball fan who has spent the majority of my life knowing very little about Cricket I recently decided to learn about the sport that so many people compare to baseball. Growing up I always heard how Baseball and Cricket are “basically the same sport” and I always assumed that was true.
But as the video states, when I learned the rules of Cricket and understood the difference between T20 and Test and what an Over was, I was shocked at how these sports had almost nothing in common. The similarities are, you hit a ball with a bat and you can get out. That’s it. Other than that they’re completely different.
I have grown to like Cricket ok. I don’t see myself ever watching a full game. But I’ll personally never like it more than Baseball, as you guys said, there’s more dynamic game flow in Baseball in terms of scores going back and forth over the 9 innings.
No hate towards Cricket though. It’s a great sport and honestly I wish Baseball and Cricket fans would stop fighting and come together to spread both games across the world more.

If baseball and cricket fans are 'fighting' it is a tiny percentage in my opinion. Videos go out of their way to magnify it to create drama, whereas in reality where does it occur? You might get a bit of banter, but that is normal between different sports fans in my experience. I much prefer cricket, but I followed baseball when it was possible to do so, live on terrestrial Channel 5 television, in Britain and counted myself as a New York Mets fan. I understand cricket much more fully having been involved in just about every aspect of local cricket for decades, but if I visited the States I would certainly wish to take in a game.
There is also a lot of chat online about Rugby (which I love) and American football which is very interesting, but I find far too 'stop - start' for my taste, but, I don't see why people feel they have to promote their own sport by denigrating another. That is just stupid to me!

Add in the possibility of a draw or tie in the longer forms, and Baseball's the only one that's (almost) clockless [we're not mentioning the pitch clock though :)]

As an American baseball/softball guy, it seems like cricket players have to be more versatile and adapt to unpredictable plays.
Whereas in baseball, it's more about specializing in your position and playing your role on the team. Different things are expected from different types of players. You're supposed to find which skillset suits you, and maximize on that.
For example, two opposites: a shortstop is often a fast, agile guy who can run and hit for contact. A first baseman, on the other hand, is often a slow-moving power hitter.

Have a baseball player play 10 balls directed on his body at his toes and at his nose and then see if he can even hit a single ball. Hitting pitches away from your body removes all the fear of the ball making a serious injury on your body which may destroy ur career if u aren't in luck. And also have them play on 4th 5th day of a test match where the ball will turn 1 to 2 feet right after pitching 1.5 to 2 meters in front of the striker and it may also bounce twice what u expect after pitching on a crack. Baseball is really simple as ur job is to swing the bat only and even if by mistake 2 or 3 times the bat gets good contact with the ball it will ensure ur team a win. But in cricket it doesn't matter if a batsman hits 5 or 6 sixes he may get out the very next ball and can loose the match u cannot decide the match only bcz of a few shots or pitches. It has more times which means it gives more chances to both sides to make a comeback no matter how ahead or behind they r in the game

Baseball clears in every way except for catching fly balls.
It has more dynamic play due to infield decisions, teammate passing, and strategy. It also rewards clean contact and not just ANY contact due to foul play. While there is skill in placing the ball for batsman, fluke shots are just as good, as in skimmed misses that go behind you.

Yeah I can say that video at start was way wrong about hitting cricket is easy than baseball.no the very player test and cricket player itself was not proper.Bat circumference is not all a tough thing because you expect a full toss bowl only.

Naaah, it can be way harder to hit cricket ball and it can be easier too.
The balls delivered in baseball are just straight up considered bad in cricket. If it hasn't bounce, it must go out of the stadium.
Basball players get angry when ball is thrown towards their head. In cricket you target the head and toe regardless that it can injure them.
Speed is not the only issue in cricket.
    - The ball could turn either way after bouncing for slower baller. And it can turn miles.
-The ball could swing in air differently when it is new to the way when it is old.
    - The ball could swing differently in depending on weather, lights, day and night, lacquer on ball.
    - And now the surface on which the ball bounces could be different. The bounce could be till your head and also could be below the knees. It can have cracks, grass, dusty, all kinds of shit.
Or we could just make it easier for batter and see some big hits, that is t20. 😂😂

    • @nac5901
      @nac5901 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

It's much easier to hit a baseball -- try giving a cricket player a baseball bat and see how much he hits. Or get a baseball player to try playing cricket with a baseball bat. Obviously it's easier if you have a cricket bat, but if you played baseball with a cricket bat you'd be hitting everything (at least once you got used to hitting with the flat of the blade; baseballers often tend to hit with the edge because of the way they hold it). The small bat and faster throwing is to compensate for the increased ease.

The video you are watching was pretty silly. i recall watching it a year or so ago.
The ridiculous "study" they referenced to show how much easier a cricket ball is to hit involved, as I recall, an ex-professional batter for baseball and what could best be described as an American club cricketer who then proceeded to throw full tosses at the baseball player (who wasn't wearing pads which tells you all you need to know about what he was facing).
They then say a baseball pitcher pitches from closer by comparing the distance from the pitcher to batter in baseball to the distance between stumps in cricket. Not quite sure what form of cricket involves a bowler bowling level with the stumps and a batsman batting likewise! The reality is the distance from popping crease to popping crease (where the bowler bowls from and batsman stands) is almost exactly the same as the baseball distance.

    Why DNReacts choose baseball?
    1. Player gets to play multiple times.
    2. Cricket outcomes are predictable.
Let me explain you with an example
If you consume something that you like very much, but in every day.
It would lose its value, and you would less likely to have it.
But if One player gets only chance to shine, they will give their all. Which is more satisfying and worth looking for.
Secondly, the cricket outcomes are nowadays not easy to predict at all. ( if you are saying you watch IPL and other leagues, you should know)
In cricket, the fun lies not only in the outcome but watching sixes, boundaries & wicket, keeping composed & patient allowing ourselves to get anxious to the point until it happens, etc.

Cricket in America is basically just a sport played and followed by immigrants, generally from the Indian subcontinent and the Caribbean. This is a big, diverse country so thats probably still millions, but its not a big sport here at all. Theres one channel, Willow, that shows games, usually IPL. I wonder how much demand there is, since we already have baseball. Same with rugby and American football. There is already a similar sport here.

A cricket ball loses 10% of it's speed out of the bowler's hand due to air resistance and then loses an additional 30%-40% of it's remaining speed after it bounces and before it reaches the batsman. A baseball loses just that 10% of speed due to air resistance. But as the video mentioned, the baseball is traveling a shorter distance from pitcher to batter than from bowler to batsman.

That isn't true though. Bowlers don't bowl level with the stumps and the batter doesn't stand at the stumps. The distances from point of delivery to impact on the bat are almost identical.

They(baseball fans) thought it is about speed but the variation of ball speeds with cricket pitch is much harder to hit than not having to bounce and hit . Baseball hit is more simpler than a cricket hit , the bouncing of ball makes it much harder to hit because it is easier to focus in one morion or straight line than in 3d motion of bouncing and variation of pitch in cricket . ❤️👍
