Thank you so much for your interpretative reading of this text. I am sure that I would enjoy being a student in your class. Thank you for sharing with us all.
It really helped when you changed the way you read when it came to a part when some one was talking. And your summaries between every few paragraphs really helped me understand what the books about.
I am going into 10th grade this year and this book was assigned for us to read over the summer. I was having a lot of trouble reading it until i found your videos. Thank you so much for the help!
Thank you for this, it has helped me out a lot in my schooling when I'm just packed with work and need somthing a bit easier, and the summary every few paragraphs is great! Thank you!!
I know you haven’t read a book and posted each chapter like this in like three years, but in hopes of you seeing this, I’d like to ask if you start again, and read requests by people. I not too long ago read along with you to this book and it helped so much. So now I’m reading The Bell Jar, hoping you can read and I read along understanding more because of your great explaining, thank you for your time. -Alisha Skinner
Omg I can’t believe I’m just reading this now, but I need you more than ever. This book tale of two cities is so confusing to me. I don’t know if your reading the bell jar now, but if you are then that’s ok. Thank you for you time again! -Alisha Skinner
I can't remember how long it took, but it felt like it took forever. I filmed, edited, and uploaded the videos by myself, so it was a lot of work. I made these videos for a class of 8 students, and now thousands have seen them. It was totally worth it!
For actions find examples of characters trying to do something about their situation. For inaction, find examples when they don't do anything about a situation.
His tragic flaw is his pride. He is also arrogant. Too many years as a big shot left him without any humility, or at least without the ability to show humility.
There are more than one downfall in the book. His exile from Umuofia could be interpreted as the gods exacting their revenge for him killing Ikemefuna. He allowed his pursuit of manliness to lead him into disaster. It all goes back to his pride. He was too proud to allow other men to deal with Ikemefuna, and I think it's Obierika who mentions that killing the boy is something that the gods will punish.
Hello, Thanks a lot for the videos and explanations! Very helpful. Could you make a Google Doc or something with summaries/character sketch/questionanswers/notes for TFA, if possible? Thanks again! :)
I love how he pauses to clarify whats happening in the story every so often. Reminds me of how my mom used to read to me :)

what topic should I use for my essay culturalism or imperialism
Tough question. You could probably talk about the cultural barriers the imperialists ran into in their attempt to understand the natives.
thanks for the help
If you could, for your next book, read The Scarlet Letter
We like listening to you on our class. How long did it take you to read the whole book? And create all the videos?

I have this project and our topic is on tragedy. I have to to identify actions vs inaction and i find it hard to do. Can you help?
For actions find examples of characters trying to do something about their situation. For inaction, find examples when they don't do anything about a situation.

would you consider Okonkwo to be a Tragic Hero?
+John Rodgers He is absolutely a tragic hero.
+Zachary Ramsey awesome! thanks for your input. Also, would you agree his tragic flaw was his exile from Umofia?
His tragic flaw is his pride. He is also arrogant. Too many years as a big shot left him without any humility, or at least without the ability to show humility.
+Zachary Ramsey I'm sorry i meant downfall not tragic flaw that was a typo
