Prophet Russell M. Nelson Visits the Holy Land

“The reason why prophets are needed is because Heavenly Father wants His children to have the opportunity to come home to Him,” said President Russell M. Nelson of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, as he continued his global ministry tour in Jerusalem, Saturday, April 14, 2018. “God has always dealt with His children on the earth through prophets, but He wants them to choose to come home. So those people who choose to obey the commandments [given through prophets] will have that opportunity to return home with their families in eternal life together,” said President Nelson. The remarks were made before a gathering of members and friends of the Church, along with students at the Brigham Young University Jerusalem Center at a district devotional. “As the new president to the Church, I felt that there were two messages that I would like to convey to our people,” President Nelson said. “One is that Jesus is the Christ and He has a message for all of God's children. And the second is that His is a global invitation. We invite all of God's children to come unto their Savior.”

I love and sustain our wonderful prophet president Russell M. Nelson as God's living prophet on the earth today! He is a man like Abraham or Moses, who speaks mouth to mouth with our loving Father in Heaven. I also know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is Christ's true New Testament Church restored to the earth today.

I loved the part where Elder Holland talked about putting the Gospel Principles at work in order for differences to be put aside and people can come together. He has been consistently communicating this message and I share his view what a great union and harmony it could be. Suspend "reality" for just a moment and imagine a world where we all were able to overlook our differences and focus on the similarities. Anyway, I could go on and on - I just think Elder Holland has been "walking the talk" and setting a great example.

Praise the Lord! We as "disciples of Christ" discern the difference of good from bad but without upsurping the place of God; who alone condemns others to hell. Bible speaks of the sad state of those who judge others beliefs even condemning people of other beliefs or religions. Latter-day Saints demonstrate how judging others is not Christlike.
