I was born in 1980 so the Series D was the one in use for my first ten years or so. I only really saw the fiver and tenner and the one pound until it was discontinued in favour of the one pound coin. Twenty pounds was a lot more money in the 80s than it is now so children didn’t really come into contact with twenty pound notes that much. It’s now one of my favourite of the notes though, it’s such a nice colour. I would guess Series E would be the ones used when you were a kid?
You can buy cheap folders the same as what you have with pages for 2 notes rather than the 3. Being a Numismatist for 20ish years I have thought about getting into Notes but never taken the step over. I went into War Medals and death pennys instead. Nice little start up grouping you have there. Have you ever thought about asking your bank about getting them to save old notes for you. My bank knows I collect coins and have offered me Early shilling notes and old £5 notes as the price they have had to exchange them for cash.
Yeah I will definitely try to find the 2 note holders, they seem to be a better fit for all types of banknotes. War medals are an interesting to collect, definitely want to get into that at some point :)
Great start to a collection. "Knowledge is power. Buy the best you can afford" good luck!
That's the plan!

Hey adz. Coin dealer here. Be careful collecting a lot of notes. They are harder to sell than coins when you go to sell.
Noted. I will be careful about how many I am buying :)
