I just love these two!! I'm a big advocate in adopt, don't shop, which includes good breeders as well, but....everyone needs a loving home, so....and they are just sooo stinking cute!!!!!!! I love that Tucker was so adamant that his son be called Todd and that you went along with it!!! You're one of the bestest dog mom's out there!!! And I love Tucker, Todd, Journey, etc, etc!!!!! I'm hoping you have many great family adventures!!! 💜💜

Thankyou for showing what puppy life can and should be to really succeed with no negative feedback or inconsistent human behavior. Especially as your videos aren’t strictly teaching or training videos.
People need to see and understand the methods and the invesment of time and tenderness that makes all the difference in the world in who your dog will be for the next 15 odd years.

Crate training is very good. Our pup, though he doesn't need it anymore, used to go there for comfort and we only shut him in when there was... A cable guy or something of that ilk.
Mind you, it was also made for a time out area, when he ... e.g. Ate Trash -_- "Go to your room." And he'd run to his crate (mind you, we never locked him in, but we he didn't come out until we told him to.)
Also, if we threw him ... a big treat or a new toy, he'd take it there and play with it and wouldn't want us invading his personal space. Our boy is a Golden Doodle from Michigan, I wonder if he's a distant cousin to Tucker.
EDIT: Also, LINDA! That's a great reward voice, I'm sure they respond to it very well. Your boys are so cute, I'm happy to have found this channel. I watch your videos and then wonder why I'm not cuddling with my Apollo, then I pause (not before liking the video) and go play with my 110lb Golden Doodle
Nothing can substitute the enjoyment of wrestling with your dad when you are young. I'm sure this rings even truer for dogs.

Keeping a dog in a closed crate would be a reason.

@@kenna_c I know very well what it is, and also that there is very little actual credible evidence of any benefit of doing it. And secondly here it seems like they're keeping him in the crate over night like that (which isn't crate training).
Crate training is so important. For training but also for the dogs own piece of mind. The crate is the dogs cozy place like their den so if there is a moment when they’re tired and want privacy or just wanna place to hide., They’ve got their Crate/den

I am a huge believer in crate training. Gives them a place of their own (never use as punishment). We can not catch them at everything as much as want to think we can. My adult dogs would still go in an open crate to nap of their choosing long after crate training. keeps them safe from eating something they shouldn’t. Keeps you from costly repairs. And an awesome way to potty train. All my dogs (pups) have been house trained within a week. All crate trained. Two weeks tops.

Crate training was ESSENTIAL for my border collie/aussie mix. Especially as a puppy because she couldn't unwind on her own she needed time in a safe, comfortable place to take a break from all the stimulation of the new environment. Totally with you on that.
