Um.... Most of these pitchers are sidearm... Notice how the Japanese "submarine" pitchers utilize the "riseball" Turn off your TV's and come play some fastpitch!
Ookiku Furikabutte and Mix Miesei Story got me hooked. Strangely enough tho, American MLB doesn’t cut it for me-a bit too dry and lackluster for me. The Japanese NPB and even real life high school Koshien tournament is where it’s at
How do these people not break their arms? And not all of these are submarine because some are sidearm but low. But I can see why u called em submarine tho
I used to throw sidearm for AAA dodgers and mix in a sub when I was feeling confident. I find it hard to throw over arm it’s just not my mechanics I was born with. Good fastball too. Back in the 90’s this was.
Shame you add the Quiz and not Mark Eichhorn with all your other clips being modern. Mark was a dangerous consistent sub pitcher during the same time as Dan.
You play the game for 15-20 years before you make the majors. Every pitcher throws you play against throws over the shoulder. then you see these guys. It's too much. Not only have they got the speed, the control and the break-but it comes from nowhere. You can't change 20 years of thinking in the middle of a game.
Correct me if I’m wrong, but wasn’t the submarine style kind of invented for people who’ve had UCL reconstructive (Tommy John) surgery? I know Warhop did it because it was easier for him to control his pitches.
Nah a true submarine pitch is like the one that Korean pitcher is dishing out. Your entire torso is to dip so low that you’re basically pitching the ball upside down, almost from the dirt. Most of these are just sidearm pitches-not real subs. Submarine pitchers are apparently pretty damn rare.
B0GGIEMAN101 I throw low side-arm to maybe extreme upper slot submarine. There are a complete different family of muscles with that slot. There's a lot more shoulder and rotator cuff being used. First time I pitched like that I thought my arm was going to fall off after 8 pitches. Even now I can only do it about 40-60 times. I dont think I could start with that slot. Would be cool to see submarine slots as starters
burningphoneix 01:31, 1 korean ‘Park Jong Hoon”l’ is one current uprising submarine starter in KBO league. This season he won 14 games as a starter.. 잠수함 선발투수 아직 있어요우~
I actually love that. I’m a rare mound hating pitcher haha. If it was up to me, I’d pitch off flat ground every time. I get a bit more Moh’s that way, the mound tends to slow me down just a tad.
Tekulve, Walter Johnson, Pedro Martinez ( who shut the Yankees out in a playoff game throwing nothing but submarine changeups...98% of the time) Ted Abernathy, Mark Eichorn, Terry Leach, etc
0:52 , 1:30 only japanese and korean pitchers are doing submarine pitch. rest of those American pitchers are side arm pitchers. they are not even an under arm pitchers smh
Believe it or not, I can hit a tennis ball pretty hard with a racquet just like a baseball pitcher does with that posture. Due to the presence of the net, it's a very delicate process to make it to the opposite baseline. Maybe I'm a sport genius or a plain fool since nobody has ever attempted to do it on the tennis court.

Only the Japanese players and maaaybe Quisenberry were true submarine. Neshek is practically in the 3/4 arm slot when he delivers.
@@camsvideos6145 Nah, he was right. Quiz is the standard.
이태린 No he’s talking about Makita 0:52
The only submariner here is the japanese and korean pitcher, mostly sidearm pitchers

You can't have a submarine/sidearm video without including Kent Tekulve. He was a classic!
I know
This is suppose to be a video on submariners but most are side arms, like Tekulve

This slowmo at 1:41 is soooo cool! 🤩🤩
Some of those Asian pitchers damn near drag their hands on the dirt when they release, that's insane
Shunsuke Watanabe’s submarine delivery went so low that he would sometimes scratch his knuckles on the dirt.
1:30 What's amazing is that this guy is a starter. Park Jong-Hoon.

Um.... Most of these pitchers are sidearm... Notice how the Japanese "submarine" pitchers utilize the "riseball" Turn off your TV's and come play some fastpitch!
Most of these guys are not submariners, they’re sidearms. A true submarine pitcher releases the ball at ankle height.
Below the knee is considered submarine.
Nah, true submarines release the ball below the pitchers mound
@@danadrian2752 Nah, REAL submariners release the pitch below water....while doing a handstand...naked.

B. Kim on the DBacks back in ‘01
BK Kim was a legend. Dude was throwing 95-98 mph as a submarine and a nasty frisbee slider got batters swinging while getting plunked.
My shoulder hurt from watching this
When I played little league we were never allowed to throw side arm like this. Coaches always said it was bad for your arm.
Sidearm or Submarine?
