repetition is the key. talk to them all the time and they'll pick it up. it's always a good idea to make a fuss of them and give them a treat when they do good. it then reinforces positive behaviour and will let them know they did good :D

So sweet! My sun learned how to say ''hi'' when she was in a pet store for 6 months, but the employees were EXTRIMLY nice to her and all the other parrots. But they told me that she was their favorite bird!! Also if people tell you not to get a pet store bird, DON'T LISON!! Give them a chance to! Mine was a pet store bird and she is one of the sweetest things in my life!
The problem with pet stores is not the risk that you will get a troubled animal, although it is more likely when buying from a pet store, but rather that it enables the breeding and selling of animals for pets in bulk.

If my sun conure could talk, I’m sure she’d be screaming constantly “GET ME OUT OF THIS CAGE” Even though she is out to play for literally 10 hours a day
I had a parrot for 32 years that died from old age 3 months ago. I refused to lock him in his cage, because he made it clear the first night in my home with me that he HATED being locked inside, even though he’s supposed to be sleeping and it’s just for the night. It broke my heart. And he was a hand-fed 4 month old baby when I got him, however when he was kept inside enclosures when he was still with his breeder, he was always with the rest of his clutch (5 brothers/sisters), so he wasn’t alone. So I never locked him in his cage again, understanding his fright and normal instinct for the feeling of freedom, even if he was sadly never going to be fully free like a normal parrot in the wild. My bird would voluntarily go inside his cage to sleep at night - he just didn’t want the door to be closed and be locked inside of it. Very understandable! It’s not hard to keep their cage unlocked and give them free roam of their cage, youknow.

What a good mommy you are...!!! However, as i often tell folks if you don't mind loud and i mean LOUD. Then by all means explore the Aratinga conures. Suns, Jendays, Nandays, Blue Crown's etc...However, i prefer the Pyrrhura family of conures; Maroon Bellied, Green Cheek, Black Capped, etc...Too me they are every bit as pretty and A LOT quieter. Especially, the Crimson Bellied which is what i have along with a Black Capped & Green Cheek.

My dusky does a perfect mimic of laughter but he only does it after he’s covered up for the night sometimes unnervingly he’ll do it randomly in the middle of the night
Wow it’s so peaceful when they aren’t screaming! My conure screamed even when given food, literally just for fun. Also they like to do it when perched right next to your ear, because they hate ears. Beware new conure pet owners...
Sun conures are not very good “talkers”. They are NOT known for imitating sounds or words, unfortunately :( (although it’s possible, just really hard and even “rare”, I’d say). I have a sun conure myself too haha
my bird just died she was only a few months old we got her from pet co and we had her for a week we danced to songs fed her tried to teach her how to talk but she died too young we loved her so much i miss her

I don't have a sun conure but I do have a green cheek conure named Koa, he likes to repeat the kissing sounds I make at him when hes trying to get my attention when im petting the dog. Then the dog gets jealous so she tries to sit on my shoulder like Koa does (luckily shes a puppy so shes still small) Im surprised the fish isn't getting jealous either lol
Not all parrots will talk. Most have the capability, but it really is all up to the individual bird. Certain species are more 'likely' to be talkers, but it's not a given. Same goes with cuddling and tricks. Some may really be into one but not the other. But, nonetheless, the best thing to do is use the same word you want them to repeat over and over throughout the day. Make sure you have their full attention when you speak to them. Say it with 'emphasis', parrots LOVE drama. While it is customary and recommended to always reward your parrot for performing a trick or speaking - I think it is also beneficial in the training process. For example, my conure associates certain actions I do that result in him getting a treat. He anticipates the action and follows through without instruction. If your parrot associates a 'word' with a certain treat, he/she may very well repeat that phrase in order to get the treat. It takes a LOT of time and patience and even then, the parrot may or may not speak. Parrots are extremely intelligent. My sun will actually sit on the faucet and sneeze to let me know he wants a bath. If I don't respond, he starts to screech and doesn't stop til I give him one.
there about 600 dollors I got on for free my mom boss gave her as a gift and I was soo happy when she came home she was a bit mean so yea xD and now shes loud and very nice
My sun conure loves to say hello when we are on the phone. When he sees a cat, or a perzon he dislikes he loves to grumble "Run for it", he also mimics a coughing noise when we cough or clear our throats, bobs his head when we laugh, and to dance to "Lights" by journey. We love our little Pablo~
We have a sun concure that like doesn’t rlly talk but I wanna at least try to teach it how the old owners we got it from told us she laughs herself to bed and can bark like a dog once she used to us but we have had her for around a year and she’s used to us but hasn’t done any of the stuff the old owner said she could

Awwwwh. :( I feel like they handle enotins like some other animal species; if their partner dies, they will die as well. One of my GC conures got bitten by my amazon parrot and then my amazon died just a few months later. There was no illness, no misscoloured poop, no vomiting, etc, she was a pretty bird but then she bit my conure and she suddenly became super underweight and passed afterwards. There was no blood involved and the only thing that came from it all was my GC conure now has a lickle dent which will forever be on his beak as my amazon bit him right onthe top of his beak and just a little bit above so it's forever unfortunately. Things like this happen and all we can do about it is move on, sadly.
I want a Sun Conure pretty bad, but I only recently got my Quaker Parrot so it'll be a while before I get another bird. I can get him to do 2 laughs: an evil laugh (think Mr Burns from the simpsons), and a ha ha ha (think nelson).
