I don't know how anyone can find this usable. The bottom screen is perfect but on my setup, the entire top screen lags, even when I use separate USB-C and HDMI cables. It's usable, but very irritating when going back and forth between a monitor that works perfectly up to a monitor that skips and jumps the mouse as you scroll around. Using only a USB-C cable, as uperfect suggests is possible to run both monitors in their advertising, is downright horrendous. The upper screen goes black occasionally and lags so badly you might as well not even try. When I contacted uperfect about this, their response was "The dual-screen monitors currently on the market do have the problem that the upper screen responds slower than the lower screen, and it cannot be optimized yet." I am really irritated by this because the thing is so expensive, I ordered it from out of the country, and returning it will be a huge headache.

did you use it on a mac or a windows machine? Was interested in it but if there is a lot of lag between the two it will be a no go for me

Windows, and I have a fairly powerful gaming computer. It's not a *lot* of lag if you use hdmi and USB-C together, but it's enough to drive me nuts while I'm trying to work since the top screen is the natural primary since it's the most level with your field of view.

      Another reply from uperfect:
"If you use the HDMI connection, the delay on the upper screen will be much better.
Unfortunately, this problem cannot currently be optimized. This phenomenon is currently common in dual-screen monitors."
For what it's worth, it's true, but it's still not perfect. If you use a computer for your job (or if you game), you *will* be bothered by it.

@@mattrichmond8399 thats a shame, I guess I’ll just stick to using two portable ROG 240hz monitors instead (since one has the stand you can get two stacked screens, its technically portable, but its not as elegant) I wonder if I could just get two single portable monitors and 3d print a hinged stand or find a metal stand to attach them too. Hm…

Great review, i think it's the first one for the 18.5 inches version. The size difference with the 15.6 version is relevant from a productivity point of view. Notice that the 18.5 will not fit on any usual backpack, if you need to use it on the go, so you will probably need to by a new backpack as well.
Two things i find annoying: 1. you need to install the driver to have the upper monitor working... also the driver is embedded in the monitor and i could not find anywhere on the UPERFECT website, so i have some doubts about future updates. 2. i too noticed the mouse lag in the upper monitor that you mentioned in the review , and it occurs not only at the bottom, but also at the top: check in outlook when you move the mouse over the icons at the top... It's not a big issue, but it's noticeable

It's not just the top and bottom, it's the whole screen. Especially when you use their one-cable (USB-C) option. It's terrible.

I have the YB9i too. I normally use it with a desktop external monitor but I also have a uperfect 4k lapdock. What I've found is that when you wake from sleep the display arrangement you set up often gets 'reset'. Most of the time, it's a 'default' with the extra monitor on the right, but on occasion, I've had them jumbled. Have you had this issue please?

Can I ask if this monitor supports Macbook Pros? I tried purchasing one and on a single USB-C Setup, I cannot establish two extended monitors, what happens is the second panel is mirroring the first panel even if I am in DPMST/Extended mode.

hopefully the next revision comes with a 10bit and 500 nit display , otherwise its perfect . The touchscreen is an added bonus , but overall excellent product

Hey thanks for this comparison with 9i.
Ive been using ASUS MB series 15.6 single USBc monitor for few years now but prefer vertical setup. The low brightness and 720p resolution on ASUS are taking a toll on my eyes.
I am not sure if Uperfect 1080 is bright and sharp enough? If I should go with Uperfect their 2K version? I am also undecided aboutn 15.6 vs 18.5 as WFH mostly but also travel . My ideal solution would be Zenbook duo 15.6 (not 14).

If you don't want lag you need to connect each monitor to its own port. When running them through a singular USB-C one monitor it being ran as a digital/software monitor vs. a hardware power monitor. Takes CPU power to run it that way.

    Hey great review
I might have missed it as the video is long but can you connect 2 things, like use the upper screen for a PS5 and the second one for a PC ?

so.....I've got one of these, and I'm curious if you're having the same issue. are you able to connect 2 different devices to it, and have 1 hdmi device and 1 usb-c device? my top panel NEVER lights up, except when you're using displaylink with a windows machine....

    • @gotmygat6316

@@TheDigitalDigest I did that and it still doesn't work. It seems that it interferes with the monitor driver. When I download the one from Synaptics and the monitor driver, the monitor (when plugged in) prompts me to install their driver. Unless I'm downloading the wrong driver for display link
