She initially shredded his jumpsuit. Now his t-shirt, shorts, and shoes stayed. I think the difference is that they are in physical contact to Saitama, the jumpsuit wasn't. I believe that Saitama's aura, or Chi, has expanded outward and surrounds his body and clothes. This is because he got tired of getting stripped naked and has built it up on a subconscious level. And because of the fight with Garou that took Saitama to God level.
I think the most heartwarming thing is that Saitama sees Tatsumaki's potential for being a better person, and that reflecting into her being a truly great hero.
Yeah, the fact that she has intentionally been isolating herself from everyone has limited her. During the latter half of the monster association arc she had a few really cool moments with Genos where they teamed up, and Saitama may have finally cracked her shell open a bit, allowing for some actual growth.

Yes, saitama wants to see tatsumaki's progress as a great hero and on her side. This is the thing she wants the most, a person who sees her as a human
He sees that in almost every hero though.
It's interesting that this is becoming more a story about Saitama learning how to teach people to be heroes rather than being a hero himself. He praises Genos for his hero sense and being able to show up right when he is needed, but he doesn't realize that Genos would only be going around aimlessly looking for the cyborg he wants to destroy if he hadn't met Saitama. Now Tatsumaki is getting direction from Saitama to finally work through her troubled past...that he again doesn't realize that's what he is doing.
It's just like how he inspired the creation of the Hero Associations. Saitama is the planet's Hero; it's just that nobody knows it yet.
A true hero doesn't need to appear like one in order to help in the biggest way.

After 6 chapters Tatsumaki is now friendly towards Saitama and actually impresses him while Fubuki barely made any progress with him at all which is just sad. Also, we all know the surprise test is an excuse that Tatsumaki wants to hang out with Saitama😂
I wasn't even thinking but your right. I was thinking it was gonna be like a speed-o-sound sonic thing now where she just randomly comes out the cut and challenges him to a rematch against his will. But it might be like a fabuki thing where she kinda just appears under some pretense of a fight or "test" just to get caught up in some shenanigans.
If anything, Saitama gave Tatsumaki a purpose that Blast didn’t.
Blast helped Tatsumaki by physically freeing her (although most likely wasn’t intended) by telling her that she should fight for herself, but this caused her to be emotionally trapped.

The fact that Tatsumaki has the power to influence a celestial body like an asteroid from earth and redirect it in order to kill the Terror Lizard King all the while she could barely lift Saitama is very telling.
Saitama is strong enough to break planets and tactile reality warping. He weighs the same as a human but even his tendons (those tiny strings in the body that attach tissues) are stronger than steel. So if he wants to become an immovable object. He will.
In the webcomic it’s saitama it’s because of their will or strong spirit she could not move garou or golden sperm either so it wasn’t just saitama

Saitama has always been a "complete" hero to me hence why i think OPM never seemed to be focused on saitama, rather it's almost always about the people around him, and how he affected their lives instead. The story of their encounter with a hero and how it affected their lives.
I'll never forget watching the Deep Sea King fallout episode. That's when it clicked that Saitama isn't just a STRONG hero, but a strong HERO. He's the paragon hero in every single way.
Exactly. He has reached the pinnacle of being hero. And his arcs revolve around helping others become better heroes (Genos, Tatsumaki, Glasses, those 3 thieves in that OVA) or
But as a person, he is still lacking. And i think the show is also about Saitama finally finding his humanity again in these new connection he forges along the way.
I like this, a lot actually.
I love how Saitama didn't boast or anything about his power, all he wanted to do was make things better for Tatsumaki.
By proving to her that he's strong, and he's worth listening to, she actually cared about him, and what he has to say.
I have a feeling like this is the start of a new Tatsumaki, one who becomes far more emotionally mature, one who grows into the hero she promised Blast she could become.
We'll just have to see how things go, but either way, this chapter was genuinely really good, and made me really happy. Seeing Saitama help Tatsumaki finally grow as a character, after 181 chapters of her being kinda static, was such a genuine shock to the system, and I can't wait to see how Saitama and Tatsumaki's relationship changes and grows as the series continues.
The thing is here, I'm pretty sure Saitama never intended to show his strength to her or to prove anything to her. This whole fight, to me, is reminiscent of letting a child throw their tantrum so you can calmly talk with them afterwards. He removed her from the situation where she could damage things, which was his whole prerogative and the point to his whole argument. He never intended to fight her, nor did he really intend to improve her in any way. His whole goal was still to prevent her from destroying other peoples things and Tatsumaki interpreted it a separate way. Saitama is like Fry (Futurama), he is simple and motivated by simple things. Saitama does not plan things through or think about things deeply. People infer differing personality traits to him because of his status. He is ascribed to have more heroic things about him because of what he has done (potentially) that has put him in the situations he's found himself in, most of which occur by sheer accident.

Saitama didn't really help Tatsumaki on purpose, he just kinda did whatever he wanted to, and he accidentally made it so that Tatsumaki's outlook on life changed.
He never intended to show her his strength, his strength just is that way, but he did see the good in her, and he wanted her to better herself.
Because she witnessed Saitama's power, even though he didn't showh is power on purpose, she actually took his words to heart.
The amount of manly tears I cried by this emotional journey of Tatsumaki turned my face into a mess :D I Loved this so much!
I still hope Saitama can give Tatsumaki a "serious hug" at one point in the future.
Although I am still 100% in the Tatsumaki x Genos shipping camp! The amount of support and respect between the two in the monster association raid was just the most hype thing I have ever seen!
Saitama never had to boast his actual powers ever since the show started. Even with his fight against Boros, when asked if he gave it his all, Saitama just said yes, even though both of them knew he wasn't.

@eco it’s also not the first time she’s tried to use her powers on him and had it not work. Back before Saitama started his training, he was working in a haunted house that Tatsumaki visited and scared her. As a result of this, she tried to use her powers on him to no effect. This was revealed in the audiobook “A Summer Festival With Tatsumaki.”
This is why I like this ship. Both are incredibly strong, gained strong as a means of solving their problems but lost something in the process, both before had barriers separating them from people. Saitama is a guy easily to get close to but often is so nonchalatent other people have no influence or meaning to him, to the point he didn't realize he sees genos as a friend until he lost him. Tats always has a barrier keeping all people away but only the strong can enter & have any chance to influence her. Also, no one pushes their buttons more than each other, which is a fun part of their interactions. If they dont get shipped, they have to at least be great friends

@@thehermitman822 Yeah, the cool thing with Saitama is that he brings out the best in others. King, Hammerhead, Garou and many others. After meeting him they end up rethinking a lot of things and become better heroes by refocusing on what's important. Saitama's own development is more subtle, he becomes more of an Accidental mentor.

We can now expect Saitama being thrown around as a comedy tic for Tats. Since he's just that durable, though she couldn't lift him, we might see her try to train to at least launch him without touching him at the future.
What stands out to me the most was Saitama’s comment about how you can’t know a person’s limit before they have pushed themselves there.
He couldn’t handle even the lowest level of threat before he started training, and now he can one-shot planet killers.

Here's one thing which hasn't been mentioned in the manga:
An esper's magic has to do with her willpower. (Like green lantern's ring)
But when it comes to using it on another human, the person's will also comes into play.
So when Tatsumaki wasn't able to lift Saitama, it was because of Saitama's will power to not be pushed around was stronger than hers. And that's not exclusive to Saitama only. (I think even Mumen Rider would be able to resist her picking him up)
I really like Saitama and Tatsus dynamic
Both have very flawed views and need to let people in, Saitama is farther on that path than Tatsumaki but its clear by how he handled Fubuki he still needs work on Human Connections. I feel like that's the main point of the series
Ye I can see that too, Because Saitama life is completely different than anyone else. If you have powers like him, you don’t have to care about your surroundings or ppl if majority of things can’t hurt you. Can’t even hang around regular ppl that often because you’re at a completely different lvl. Often tho he is aware of the lower ranks around him, I still think his powers gave him the lack human communication. It’s like constantly hanging around superman, eventually something will happen that only he can handle and would deem to dangerous for any simple person to be around.
Facts, but hey this is the most affection I have seen both saitama and tatsumaki show for another person ever (not including when saitama went insane over Genos death)

The most unbelievable aspect of Saitama's power is just how long this man was able to unintentionally hide his power to everyone for so long.

I like how Tatsumaki makes a connection between Saitama and Blast and how he reminds her of him in some way. Probably why she had a switch up in her character.
Tatsumaki did not fall for him because of his past but because on how she just wants to be recognized that she could be better, and wants to be recognized by someone who is stronger or as strong as her. And all she did to let go of her stress by fighting Saitama, which made her feel so much better having her powers put to her maximum limit.

I was curious to know if Saitama can decide to have a counter to psychic powers. To whatever Saitama applies his will, it will submit to him. It's not like he's never been moved by psychic powers before. When Fubuki tried to "Rookie Crush" him, she was able to throw him around after he decked her minions.

I was a hardcore Saibuki shipper like him at first. But judging by Tatsumaki and Saitamas interactions throughout this whole arc, im sorry, but those two have WAAAAY better chemistry than he does with Fubuki.
Their personalities just bounce off each other perfectly. Saitama is the only other person Tatsumaki sees as an Equal, and he's probably the only man besides blast who has touched her in an affectionate way. He's the first and only person who can give her a fun time and put her in her place since she can't hurt him.
Saitama isn't dumb he is very perceptive. From his perspective, all Fubuki wants to do with him is be his boss so she can boss him around even more than she already does. Thanks to Tatsumaki, Fubuki has a warped sense of what a friend is she thinks having friends means controlling them. Which is a lesson she has probably learned in this arc.
Plus unlike fubuki tatsumaki actually has something in common with saitama who is stuck gighting enemies ho fall to easily
The dream she is having, with blasts back to her, and he walking away too quickly to catch. is one often experienced by those who lost a cherished loved one. Generally, if they feel they are not living up to expectations .
The loved one turning back to look at them is often experienced by those who are about to have monumental change in their life.
