Fire Watch is REALLY Important, been many Dry Dock Fires on Military, Civilian including Cruise Ships over the years, couple Royal Caribbean Ships also. As a Passenger was onboard 2-3 Ships couple Sailings before Dry Dock and at least 6 after Dry Dock where they did lot of the onboard non-Sea Side work. Much of it Painting Ship and Staining all the 1000 plus railings
We were on the Quantum in 2022 for a Seattle-Hoonah-Skagway-Juneau-Victoria cruise to Alaska.. Nice ship, friendly crew, beautiful views. Went for a ride on the crane and hung off the side of the ship . Pretty neat to see the underside, thrusters and updates to the ship.
Chris, Been watching you since start CV. you have gotten really good at these Videos. As always thanks for bringing us along with you! Will be on Voyager of the Seas this Oct-Xmas doing Europe-Singapore-Australia, you gave be great Ideas what I plan on doing when I get there
Another great video Chris. I was relaxing on the rooftop garden at a resort on Sentosa when I saw Quantum making its way from dry dock back to Marina Bay cruise terminal. She was quite the sight, sailing between the 50+ ships anchored in the harbour. Enjoy Australia, we’re a friendly bunch. ❤
Such a great video! Thanks for sharing all of this with us. Singapore is on my bucket list and I'm very much looking forward to our Alaskan cruise on Quantum in May - I'll be enjoying some time in the casino too. 🙂
Watching you on fire watch in the galley. Did you start out in the casino? Or did you begin your cruise life somewhere else like the dining? Seems like dining would be the hardest job of all. ??Vlog “The worst job on a cruise ship!”🙏
Didn’t notice you tried any of the local Singapore cuisine - like Nasi lemak, Satay, Singapore Chili crab, Nyonya cuisine, banana-leaf lunch….you missing out these delicious food {I prefer that than Japanese or Korean, or American cuisine when in Singapore)
We disembarked at Singapore as it was going to dry dock …we loved Quantum hopefully we will board her again in our hometown Brisbane to see the changes …great video Chris…which mall were you at on your final day?
Absolutely amazing to see such a giant ship sitting on wood blocks - assume there were some stabilizers in case of earthquake - but so surprising that more supports weren't needed to hold the insane amount of weight. Thanks for the great video, Chris - We were on the Seattle/Tokyo leg just prior and had a great time.
We are fortunate in Singapore to not be an earthquake zone despite being near many seismic regions, but i do agree it is rather marvellous that such a massive ship is sitting on merely bricks
It's in dry dock... if they think there's any danger of earthquake or any other disaster where the ship is in the way, they will flood the dock and finish up the work safely out of harm's way.
Happy Friday evening Chris!!! I just can't get over how much work can be done on the ship in three weeks!!!! (WOAH) Great behind the scenes dry dock Vlog. I just couldn't watch you under that freaking HUGE ship at the end. It give me the creeps seeing all that structure over top of me. Kudos to you for going under the Quantum Chris. I couldn't do that. (nope) And Singapore is quite something to see. I hope to get there one day myself. I'm ready for the Australia Vlogs!!! Another place I want to go to as well. (wink, wink)
8:20 would just like to point out a little error here. That area you are seeing is actually not Marina Bay Sands or the city centre of Singapore, but rather buildings in the neighbouring country of Malaysia(I believe that is Forest City, Johor, but correct me if im wrong). The city centre is actually due east of Tuas Shipyard where the ship was at and is approximately 40km away, so it probably wasnt visible from the shipyard:)
I'm a bit shocked about the layout of your new cabin, especially for such a relatively new ship. Seems to be really annoying to have to fold up the bed every day to be able to use the cabin when not sleeping. Not sure how the cabin compares sizewise to the one you showed on Icon, but the layout there seemed to be much more thought out.
I was in Oasis my last contract and we had a 3 weeks dry dock in Cadiz, Spain ❤ what an amazing time! I also did fire watch. The only bravo of the entire dry dock was mine 🥴😅
Emmi is the great person !!! The best floor manager ! Quantum has one of the best casino teams in the fleet in my opinion. Sailed with you guys on second to last Alaska sailing of 2024. Cool to see all the faces I know from hours in the casino. Thanks for sharing Chris
just finished watching... what a great job you did on this dry dock vlog chris. superb sights and food, great footage on ship etc... 💯🔥💥👋👍🛳️... brilliant mate, thank you..... 💜
It was so interesting, thank you. While the ship was dry docked, how many employees were still onboard? Also, what was the average temperature in Singapore while you were there? Sue
Another fantastic dry dock video Chris. I saw the previous dry dock one you made. Amazing!. The Singapore tour was spectacular. I was curious about Singaoore how it looks. Now I want to go there. Congrats on getting your single share cabin. You are absolutely looking so happy and elated. Looking forward to see repositioning cruise to Australia. More excitement. Thank you for sharing.
Great video. Singapore looks fabulous. The bottom of the ship was what I was waiting for. I never realized the amount of work required to remodel a ship. The casino looks amazing.
This is a great video and watching all the workers so attentively going about doing their duties. I cannot imagine the planning and logistical coordination that goes into all this refurbishing. Just Incredible.
Loved the Dry Dock video Chris That what I like about your videos.. I get to see places that I would never get to see Singapore looks amazing. Have fun in Austrailia. OH by the way your haircut looks great.
Chris You outdid yourself with this dry dock and Singapore tour. Your best by far. I enjoyed the ship renovation during dry dock and the great tour of Singapore. My trip to Singapore was cancelled during the COVID fiasco so your video sparked my desire to reschedule my trip. I look forward to what’s coming ahead when you reach Australia.
Just off the Odyssey last Sunday. The new casino area next to the Music Hall is just like Odyssey. We also spent four days in Singapore last November and visited many of the places you went. What was the last Mall you were at though? Great video, enjoy Australia!
Fantastic video Chris! On Ovation in March and envious of the new casino! Hope you’ll get out and about in Sydney! Do a meet and greet! Doubt I can make it to quantum but very keen! The new machines are similar to the carnival splendor post dry dock machines which ii got off last week. Bernie in Sydney
Hi Chris , WOW another awesome Vlog of QUANTUM & Singapore looks amazing , Can't wait to board QUANTUM in Brisbane in March and hopefully get to meet you , absolutely amazing being able to walk through dry dock and touch QUANTUM & We watched you doing the same tour with SYMPHONY, Excellent work Chris ❤
Well done Chris. You answered a question when I heard Quantum was scheduled for dry dock in Singapore and if RCL were providing a video of the work. You have done far better I think. Old P&O customers and they used to always video their ships dry docks, encouraging future passengers to get excited about what was happening with their ship. As a passenger on Quantum's repositioning cruise back to the States in April '25 we look very much forward to exploring our next cruise ship and hopefully if you are still onboard, catching up with you. Very informative Chris, well done :)
Thank you chris for taking us along on the Dry Dock and your Adventures in Singapore 😊 Was really interesting to see Now the next exciting part going to Australia . Safe travels 😋
This is incredible to see. Corporate better get the memo from this video - this is the content we want to see! This is what builds loyalty!
