In most communities, if you choose to leave the community at that time, you are not shunned. It also varies by community in terms of how many rules they have. So in this case dad knew she would not be happy in their community and had her move to a community he knew she would like.
To the people thinking this is a stupid ending, maybe there is some religious influence at play here but there are faaaar worse endings in real life scenarios. It's good to know that when her child/children grow up, she or her husband atleast won't be close minded stubborn people and give the chance like they had and accept them to what they would choose as their paths.
My problem with the ending was that I never got the sense that she had strong feelings for Noah. I felt like she settled on Noah, but it was odd because she settled on him with full commitment to their relationship. As you said, maybe there is a religious influence at play that I can't relate to.

That’s a sad ending. Yeah she’s “happy” with her family and faith, but she literally had to put her dreams aside and never experienced any of her dreams other than “picking a path”. I’m glad she’s content with her choice, but it’s also heartbreaking to know that so many woman go through this same scenario all the time… And they either have to give up on their dreams or live feeling shamed or excommunicated from their families and friends for following their heart and dreams. Always follow your dreams and path to happiness, don’t compromise yourself to fit into someone else’s ideals of who you should be. You will never be happy trying to make others happy. Be a good person, do right by others and yourself, and never stop dreaming and working towards those dreams/goals.
