Just got one with power adapter. Been using the Lee precision system with hand drill, since the mid 90's. This was a great investment. Sped up the process greatly and doesn't kill my hands and wrist.

Your "master case" idea is brilliant! After stumbling through a few re-sets it finally dawned on me. Thanks for the video! Another idea I had was to mount the trimmer to a chunk of 3/4" plywood that I could clamp to my work bench when I'm trimming cases. Makes for a stable base without taking up space.

I bought the same trimmer in the early eighties, made my own power shaft at work and bought a carbide cutter from Lyman as I had dulled the original cutter at some where around 8,000 trimings. I love tools that last a life time. Thanks for the great videos. GOD Bless Earl

I use this same Lyman trimmer with this attachment. Only way to trim cases with ease and results. Great video.

Everything I've seen. do not clamp down on bullet first. Leave it just under gripping. Center on the bullet from the mandrel side and push in. Now the round is centered. Now lock it tight. Also, adjust the front collar all the way out. So if you need to adjust it you just turn the knurled nut and get fine adjustments you need. A plus on idea. A bad grade on how to use the trimmer. Watch the vid and see how when there not centered they flex over to get centered then flex back. there is my proof by your own video. And really what would it take to find some boards to lay the drill on so everything is in line.

Cool set up, looks like the hand crank bar had a screw holding the handle on. Couldn't you have removed the screw and handle, then screw in a longer screw with a lock nut, cut the head of the screw off and use the stud to chuck in your drill. I have the lee zip trim and while it works it sucks hard, it's like pulling a weed eater all day. However I believe I have just seen my upgrade, I will let you know how the screw stud option works out. I agree case trimming is probably the most tedious part of reloading, I have the L.E. Wilson case gages that quickly show if your case needs to be trimmed, they also verify headspace so after full length resize their is no question about the condition of the brass. I probably have inspection overkill, however when I started out I found that inspection is the key to safe reloading.

The crank is riveted on. Unless you have a metal lathe and know how to use it, I wouldn't recommend trying to modify it.

Lyman has another one called the EZEE trimmer that uses a drill too, but it costs a lot less than the one you have.

I drill a hole in the side of my master case. That way I don’t reload it by mistake.

I use the same trimmer b/c I had it already. I will have to say this that the customer service is terrible from Lyman. I wore my first one out in about 5 years and Lyman would not replace it without me paying almost what Cabellas charges for a new one. That said, I converted my hand crank to the straight bar style by filing off the rivet that holds the handle on and carefully sanding down the shaft so that my drill would chuck it. Couldn't see why to buy a new shaft for about 35 bucks and have the hand crank shaft just taking up room. On top of that, the threading for the cutter head is not the same as the RCBS to my disappointment. I wanted to try an adjustable cutter head from RCBS that also champers the inside and outside of the case during the trimming process. I hate deburing more than trimming now.

You might try the Little Crow Gunworks trimmer. I used two different trimmers like the one reviewed and will never go back.

Would I be able to trim 9x19 Parabellum brass to 9x18 Makarov ? Great video. Thanks..

9x19 uses the 9mm pilot included with the trimmer. 9x18 uses trimmer pilot #36, sold separately.

Probably ought to get the drill turning before you slam the cutter into it huh? HAHAHA
