So now do we have the Rock v. Shurikan argument? Do we trust our aim not to destroy our chronograph? I don't see how we prove one is better than the other without some hard data on Velocity/fps and M.E./ft-lbs.
The martial art I studied many years ago did make a point that shuriken were distraction weapons. A bo shuriken _can_ be lethal but don't count on it--accuracy in the heat of a fight is not going to be high.

The four pointed ones can be bent to form a decent caltrop. Useful against bare footed or slipper shod people and horses.
