People need to know this is the same developer that released Last Oasis in early access in March 2020 and the game is still listed as early access and still selling for $30. The last update was November 2022. So when it comes to this game, you can't say "this is a placeholder" or say "this is early access" because there is a pretty decent chance the game won't be a whole lot different 4 years from now. As consumers we need to stop "investing" in games in which we can't "divest" from if the developer abandons it.
Was thinking of giving this game a go, I always research the developer's other games before buying. Not a good track record but I'll watch Kage play it so I don't have to 😐
im generally willing to take a chance. early attempts at games by new studios often dont pan out as planned. i dont blame them for needing to move on for business reasons if they cant turn a profit on a bad idea.
Watching you start the base nowhere near the reeds hurt me mentally lol. For anyone watching later the best start spot is just to the South East mostly East of the first village in the large open field near the small pond kinda between the pond and the first village. This gives you quick easy access to most resources due to copper/tin, mud/peat, reeds, hemp, flax, sage, obviously rocks and wood are everything accessible right there for the gathering of the villagers. Rather than having issues where you have to be the one to collect such things for your town and running out so often having to interrupt your progression forward. Mid crafting things needed then bam gotta empty all the stuff you have go gather everything come back now 1 hour later finding yourself again out of the same material. Just have to watch out for the wolf den that's north of the field there it will be a early task to take them out but bring a shield lol. Remember spend your straps wisely dont use them till you can make them after making the village center thing.
My buddy and I are about 12 hrs in so far and loving it, even more than Medieval Dynasty. IMO its worth its price tag as it stands, despite some of the improvements needed. If you actually get into this game you’ll get over the initial concerns about inventory stacking (I was complaining at first too). Yes you’ll be grinding a bit at the start but resources are abundant out there and once you get some settlers they will be doing most of that work. If items stacked the game would get too easy too quickly and there would be no point/fun in having your settlers out there foraging, hunting, mining etc; it gives everyones job a purpose instead of you just running out and bringing back stacks of ore/food/wood. It’s a lot of fun working to eventually start to see your settlement slowly becoming autonomous.
Enjoy it while you can, it's not going to improve at all. The same developer released an EA game 4 years ago, it's still in EA selling for the same $30 price and has not had an update in 2 years.
Just one note #Kage848 the Dark areas on the map, are forest dark area's and ones that have dark spots with lines over them are water area's. Once you open the map more you will notice the difference. The dark forest areas's are good locations for traps hence the marking on the map of them. Key resources will also show on the map, once discovered!
I just do not know how ANY developer makes a game where items do not stack in your inventory. Nobody does that anymore. Playing with those conditions is not enjoyable at all. I’ll wait until they figure out how to do that before playing it. In the meantime, back to Enshrouded and Medieval Dynasty :). Thank you for sharing. I’ll continue to watch you play !
took me about 10 hrs of off and on gametime to get a good feel for the game. Started over and now the bee settlement is rocking. Good chill and build game
It’s a different game to both, a more combat focused game than medieval dynasty (and has way more things to do) and a complete different game to manorlords (which seems to have fewer features).
Damn you Kage! 90% of the games I own are games I've watched you play. I just got the ability to make pulsar quartz in Planet Crafter, and you dazzle me with yet another incredible game. For shame!
Sorry, it being published by Snail Games means I want nada to do with it. The game can be the absolute best thing in the world but when Snail touches it, the game goes belly up sometime between 3 months and a year. The only ones that were longer are Ark SE (which they recently killed all servers on, even the ability to connect to private ones), Ark SA (which is still shiny and new), and Atlas (which hasn't been updated in at least a year, each update broke even more of the game, and there hasn't even been a dev update since before the last update).
Even worse, it's developed by Donkey Crew. Does the movement and combat animations looks familiar? That's because it's all from Donkey Crew's last early access game: Last Oasis... the game they've abandoned in early access after 2 years on Steam.
@Athasin They released a Dev Kit for Last Oasis the other day. Also claim they hope to do some updates to it too, we will see. 7d2d took like 10 years to consider leaving EA and still not hitting kick starter goals.

At this point it's clear that this game, just like Last Oasis will NEVER make it out of Early Access so what you see now is what you get.
Snail games are a very bad studio I've been saying this since they sued and lied and Angela studios they made ark as well
I mean, if you enjoy the game as is and you can get like 40+ hours of fun out of it, and it's worth 30 bucks to you, then why not? Still better than paying 70 bucks for a 20-hour ''AA" game.
@BlijfEric go to your room. Adults are talking.
@@James_Bee judging by your comment, you do not belong to the group 'adults'. And unlike you, I'll explain why: rather than throwing unsubstantiated comments, an actual intelligent adult would reply to the content, not the individual. Simply because that's the target of discussion.
Now you go back to school, you clearly need it. Or give more of your money to games you enjoy and ditch development completely, which seems to be the case.
this is a asset flip game
This is just like that other game... All the different games are the same these days. lol
Really? Is the whole 'early access survival, this game has potential' still a thing in 2024? 🤣
Donkey Crew and Snails game...this is worst...ill pass
Oh man. This game looks great. Really. But survival with "take care of your setlers" get me off. Its boring. Tricky. And the ia always has bugs. The balance gets time to go well on early released games. Anyway. I am saying this because i got hypes for this game so long ago. But is a no. Hope for a solo life mode.
why are you not crashing im always crashing damn
