And worst, she started having issues with Gwen cuz of Duncan. Then, Duncan cheats on her. Think about it, guys! Don't blame Courtney. Blame the writers of TD for ruining her character development.
The things that happened to her are not a good reason for the way she acts, the game is unfair for everyone, and there have been even more unfair moments for other characters than for her, however when she has the chance to be privileged unfairly she doesn't give a fuck for the other, evidencing that she only cares by herself, and this is a fact since the first season, so she doesn't deserve better, she is despicable.

I hated them both for what they did, but what did it for Gwen was how she was supposed to be the more mature one. She befriended Courtney and took her boyfriend away, but didn't feel sorry for it. I saw her as a good character too, but to see that go down the drain was heart breaking. It's harder to watch something good go bad then to see something already bad get worse.
Fair enough, but judging by that confessional in Episode 14, she DID feel guilty before Courtney found out. Gwen was saying how she was a horrible person and she'd confess if it happened again.
I personally dislike Courtney in this season. She's normally quite bossy and slightly mean, but the way she acted was plain atrocious. She and Duncan had no announced relationship, and it wasn't even Gwen who kissed Duncan. Duncan kissed Gwen first, and he showed no remorse for it. I like Duncan a lot, but I don't like how he indirectly got Gwen kicked off. Courtney is actually very annoying in every season she's in other than the first one in my opinion.

I’m not sure what I would call it. Courtney and Duncan were on and off again so frequently, it clearly wasn’t a healthy or stable relationship for either of them. Courtney needed to get over Duncan, and this might have been the only way to ensure she would.

She was starting to trust Gwen and become friends with her, and she finds out she kissed her boyfriend behind her back. Gwen may have considered apologizing, but the episode after that she seemed more interested in herself than making amends with Courtney. How would you feel if you found out you were betrayed by someone you were just starting to trust/like?
The cheating completely ruined Gwen's character for me. Their friendship after this point was the most forced thing out of all of this since Courtney is the type to hold grudges and Gwen showed only surface level remorse (she flips back and forward between justifying her actions and then victimizing herself because she's a horrible person) I feel like Courtney and Heather could be good frenemies. They're both pretty mean at times and have the same cynicism. Like the one clip of Heather and Courtney laughing at Blainley together was more of a development than the entire Gwen and Courtney friendship.
I'm sad Gwen got kicked out. I don't 'hate' Courtney for this because she had a pretty fair reason to be pissed, but she was WAY to vengeful in this like 1. stamping the passport multiple times, like I get you want her gone, but just stamp it and be done with it. 2. My personal opinion about Gwen's character development from best to worst: TDI - amazing & best performance in the respective season as a finalist being a valuable member of her team winning the most challenges in the series with 9 each (5 by herself+counting her ending & 4 to her own team) TDA - worstest season for her & she went so bad as from a finalist to a under dog being the first member booted out from her team. TDWT - they ruined her character & she went on a similar experience once again she had in the previous season being the first booted out from her team 2nd time in the row & was so bad to her because of the love triangle stuff with Duncan & Courtney. TDAS - she was fine by having a good redemption, showing her funny & nice side to herself, she made it to the merge and placed 4th place & great friends with Cameron & Zoey are her best arcs & interactions she had, her transition from villain to hero was great. 1. TDI : character development as a finalist 2. TDAS : great arc redemption as a nice hero 3. TDWT : love triangle ruined her character 4. TDA : character derailment & her break up with Trent PS: she has appeared in all episodes of two seasons like in TDI: 27 ep & TDAS: 13 ep. I mean, Gwen maybe is the main & greatest character with a well developed personality during her time in the series and I love her so much, but lets faced it knowing her performances in all the 4 seasons went with ups & downs, as other contestants have outranked her or outlasting in the game because she went to the merge only twice: TDI & TDAS. So lets get it: 1. Her performances as a finalist in a shape of character development TDI: she went as a finalist with her best performance as well as beating/outranking all those 21 campers & even Owen depending on the alternate ending you've watched & holding the record of winning the most challenges in a single season with 8/9 which is currently the highest in the series if someone does count her ending of the very last episode really! 2. Character derailment and her break up with Trent TDA: she went downhill so bad in Action mostly because she once was a finalist & being an underdog as well as the first member of the screaming gaphers booted out because of Justin that blackmails her by telling her to vote herself off in the chefshank redemption. I mean several contestants like Duncan, Beth, Owen, Courtney, Lindsay, Harold, Justin & Leshawna even Heather has outranked her, where she took 12th being the lowest ranking member of her team being to shamelles for what she did by ordering Trent to stoping him into throwing challenges purposely mostly because Justin lied to his teammates and they dont believe her as she sold out Trent for the sake of his mental behaviour by purposely throwing challenges just to impress her by taking some bad advice who came from Owen by telling Trent that girls like winning which sparks the initial idea into doing this kinda stuf & his obsession on number 9 has nothing to do with Gwen's relationship with Trent as well ?? 3. Love triangle ruined her character for a dumb reason TDWT: once again the same pattern repeats as she is again booted out from her team 2nd time in the row because of Courtney who wants to get rid of her because of the fact that she kissed her boyfriend Duncan in I see London leaving Courtney devastated & heartbroken as well as having her revenge on Gwen & orchestring her elimination in Picnic at Hanging Dork where she lost a tiebreaker challenge by feeding baby koala & her allergies to eucalyptus leaves make her vulnerable for elimination & several other contestants again have outranked Gwen like Heather, Alejandro, Cody, Sierra, Duncan, Courtney & Owen since they get further ahead in the competition while she took 9th meaning she was once again the last contestant to be eliminated before the merge only by 2 episodes. 4. Better arc redemption story & her nice heroic act TDAS: this time she was 🆗️ mostly because she formes some new friendships with the 2nd generation cast (Zoey & Cameron who are her closest friends) she went further this season much like in TDI, despite the fact that she hates to stay on the island by she lasted all of those 13 episodes of that season & return as Zoey helper along side Cameron in the finale in order to bring her back her head in the competition & like her character development far better than she had in TDA & TDWT because she has done something that developes her attitude like: from a villain she went to a hero after she saved Cameron from falling to a hall right towards a pit after he lands on into a pool of water & Gwen is the only one to help, and offers him a twist tie to keep his glasses together. After this, the two quickly become friends, being the only "heroes" on the villains team. I also like the way how she is able to send Alejandro to the boney island being to greedy to him after she wone the challenge în Zeek & we shall find, dumping duncan in moon madness for the sake of her due to his obsession with Courtney, and as some point she also tells Courtney to vote herself off in order to gain Gwen's trust again after Courtney betrays her in Sundae muddy sundae mostly because chart she made & Gwen has her own revenge on Courtney for what she did to her so bad in World Tour & even smacking Heather with a pole on her head in the final Wreck-ening. To me personally, Gwen has some good redemption in all stars that makes her unique & well developed character deserve some sort of respect to her. She also went to the final 4 again like in TDI being the only OG contestant left on the competition alongside Mike, Zoey & Scott who are from 2nd generation cast evem though she was disqualified on spot by Chris.

And in the earlier seasons, Gwen would have gone out of her way to make amends (like in season 2-she intentionally sabotaged her team and voted herself off to make up for Trent throwing challenges to help her win). This season, Gwen was being selfish. And she felt bad at first, but after the cat was let out of the bag Gwen was all "she's mad; whatever".

I personally dislike Courtney in this season.
She's normally quite bossy and slightly mean, but the way she acted was plain atrocious. She and Duncan had no announced relationship, and it wasn't even Gwen who kissed Duncan. Duncan kissed Gwen first, and he showed no remorse for it. I like Duncan a lot, but I don't like how he indirectly got Gwen kicked off.
Courtney is actually very annoying in every season she's in other than the first one in my opinion.

I’m not sure what I would call it. Courtney and Duncan were on and off again so frequently, it clearly wasn’t a healthy or stable relationship for either of them. Courtney needed to get over Duncan, and this might have been the only way to ensure she would.

Gwen really should have known better. I mean, she knew how much it hurt to have someone cheat on her (remember the Heather/Trent fiasco in Island?), yet she went ahead and hurt Courtney, who was technically her friend by that point in the season, by dating her boyfriend at the time, the same thing Heather did. No wonder she's considered the new Heather in AS.

@TheHappySelf Of course Courtney would want revenge; two of the most important people in her life betrayed her. She was starting to trust Gwen and become friends with her, and she finds out she kissed her boyfriend behind her back. Gwen may have considered apologizing, but the episode after that she seemed more interested in herself than making amends with Courtney. How would you feel if you found out you were betrayed by someone you were just starting to trust/like?
The cheating completely ruined Gwen's character for me. Their friendship after this point was the most forced thing out of all of this since Courtney is the type to hold grudges and Gwen showed only surface level remorse (she flips back and forward between justifying her actions and then victimizing herself because she's a horrible person)
I feel like Courtney and Heather could be good frenemies. They're both pretty mean at times and have the same cynicism. Like the one clip of Heather and Courtney laughing at Blainley together was more of a development than the entire Gwen and Courtney friendship.
I'm sad Gwen got kicked out. I don't 'hate' Courtney for this because she had a pretty fair reason to be pissed, but she was WAY to vengeful in this like 1. stamping the passport multiple times, like I get you want her gone, but just stamp it and be done with it. 2. I'm not sure, but it looks like SHE kicked Gwen off the plane and was HAPPY about it like CREEPILY happy about it. I mean Gwen is my favorite character in TD and I don't even ship her with Trent or Duncan I just like her. I don't dislike anyone in this team, but I just kept my mouth shut just to see what will happen to Gwuncan and Duncney in this season. Courtney should have left Duncan and Gwen alone because I know many doors will open for her and there will be other guys that will love her. Cody's allergies were probably stronger and caused by insect bites. Staying away from a tree would usually be a lot easier. Plus the point came out of nowhere. Don't eucalyptus trees grow around Hanging Rock? Don't judge me, I've only been there once and all I saw was a rock wallaby.
My personal opinion about Gwen's character development from best to worst:
TDI - amazing & best performance in the respective season as a finalist being a valuable member of her team winning the most challenges in the series with 9 each (5 by herself+counting her ending & 4 to her own team)
TDA - worstest season for her & she went so bad as from a finalist to a under dog being the first member booted out from her team.
TDWT - they ruined her character & she went on a similar experience once again she had in the previous season being the first booted out from her team 2nd time in the row & was so bad to her because of the love triangle stuff with Duncan & Courtney.
TDAS - she was fine by having a good redemption, showing her funny & nice side to herself, she made it to the merge and placed 4th place & great friends with Cameron & Zoey are her best arcs & interactions she had, her transition from villain to hero was great.
1. TDI : character development as a finalist
2. TDAS : great arc redemption as a nice hero
3. TDWT : love triangle ruined her character
4. TDA : character derailment & her break up with Trent
PS: she has appeared in all episodes of two seasons like in TDI: 27 ep & TDAS: 13 ep.
I mean, Gwen maybe is the main & greatest character with a well developed personality during her time in the series and I love her so much, but lets faced it knowing her performances in all the 4 seasons went with ups & downs, as other contestants have outranked her or outlasting in the game because she went to the merge only twice: TDI & TDAS. So lets get it:
1. Her performances as a finalist in a shape of character development
TDI: she went as a finalist with her best performance as well as beating/outranking all those 21 campers & even Owen depending on the alternate ending you've watched & holding the record of winning the most challenges in a single season with 8/9 which is currently the highest in the series if someone does count her ending of the very last episode really!
2. Character derailment and her break up with Trent
TDA: she went downhill so bad in Action mostly because she once was a finalist & being an underdog as well as the first member of the screaming gaphers booted out because of Justin that blackmails her by telling her to vote herself off in the chefshank redemption. I mean several contestants like Duncan, Beth, Owen, Courtney, Lindsay, Harold, Justin & Leshawna even Heather has outranked her, where she took 12th being the lowest ranking member of her team being to shamelles for what she did by ordering Trent to stoping him into throwing challenges purposely mostly because Justin lied to his teammates and they dont believe her as she sold out Trent for the sake of his mental behaviour by purposely throwing challenges just to impress her by taking some bad advice who came from Owen by telling Trent that girls like winning which sparks the initial idea into doing this kinda stuf & his obsession on number 9 has nothing to do with Gwen's relationship with Trent as well ??
3. Love triangle ruined her character for a dumb reason
TDWT: once again the same pattern repeats as she is again booted out from her team 2nd time in the row because of Courtney who wants to get rid of her because of the fact that she kissed her boyfriend Duncan in I see London leaving Courtney devastated & heartbroken as well as having her revenge on Gwen & orchestring her elimination in Picnic at Hanging Dork where she lost a tiebreaker challenge by feeding baby koala & her allergies to eucalyptus leaves make her vulnerable for elimination & several other contestants again have outranked Gwen like Heather, Alejandro, Cody, Sierra, Duncan, Courtney & Owen since they get further ahead in the competition while she took 9th meaning she was once again the last contestant to be eliminated before the merge only by 2 episodes.
4. Better arc redemption story & her nice heroic act
TDAS: this time she was 🆗️ mostly because she formes some new friendships with the 2nd generation cast (Zoey & Cameron who are her closest friends) she went further this season much like in TDI, despite the fact that she hates to stay on the island by she lasted all of those 13 episodes of that season & return as Zoey helper along side Cameron in the finale in order to bring her back her head in the competition & like her character development far better than she had in TDA & TDWT because she has done something that developes her attitude like: from a villain she went to a hero after she saved Cameron from falling to a hall right towards a pit after he lands on into a pool of water & Gwen is the only one to help, and offers him a twist tie to keep his glasses together. After this, the two quickly become friends, being the only "heroes" on the villains team. I also like the way how she is able to send Alejandro to the boney island being to greedy to him after she wone the challenge în Zeek & we shall find, dumping duncan in moon madness for the sake of her due to his obsession with Courtney, and as some point she also tells Courtney to vote herself off in order to gain Gwen's trust again after Courtney betrays her in Sundae muddy sundae mostly because chart she made & Gwen has her own revenge on Courtney for what she did to her so bad in World Tour & even smacking Heather with a pole on her head in the final Wreck-ening. To me personally, Gwen has some good redemption in all stars that makes her unique & well developed character deserve some sort of respect to her.
She also went to the final 4 again like in TDI being the only OG contestant left on the competition alongside Mike, Zoey & Scott who are from 2nd generation cast evem though she was disqualified on spot by Chris.

And in the earlier seasons, Gwen would have gone out of her way to make amends (like in season 2-she intentionally sabotaged her team and voted herself off to make up for Trent throwing challenges to help her win). This season, Gwen was being selfish. And she felt bad at first, but after the cat was let out of the bag Gwen was all "she's mad; whatever".
