I know I'll get a lot of hate for this, but hear me out. I don't blame the uneducated and simple village folk, but the educated among them should understand that the railway line doesn't lay itself. Everything from tracks to trains are meticulously brought with a lot of planing and consideration. All this is expensive, and irresponsible government tends to not spend money on people. But here the outrage is on the flip side; they think the central government is trying to enrage them. Its really confusing and counterintuitive. I am a Kashmiri, and I know the railway line connecting these places will bring in more work and prosperity for the people. I might seem to be cold for the fact that people's land is being snached away, but that's not the case. Any informed person will know that the land isn't actually snached; they will be given proper and apt compensation for the same. And since the tracks run longitudinally, only the part of their land will get involved anyway. I think it is an overreaction from their end. Moreover, the law is very clear on this and runs throughout the country (at Modi's birthplace Gujarat, as well as Nitin Gadkari's birthplace Maharashtra) also. There has been a history of long legislative and judiciary battles on land aqusition, starting from the Shankari prasad case to the abbrogation of article 31 (Removal of Right to property as a fundamental right) to the introduction of Article 300A. All of this is done and dusted. Its for people's good; at least it seems so from my perspective. I urge everyone to take a moment and think about it and cooperate with the government. Take compensation and buy that part of land somewhere else; I know you don't want your land to get fragmented but try to understand that it is for greater good.
