I just went to a car show and drove Honda Pilot Elite, Hyundai Palisade, and Kia Telluride....the palisade was a stiff uncomfortable ride....especially in the back seats, but i loved the dash. I did not like the dash on the telluride...the Pilot felt the most user friendly and intuitive....and the ride was MUCH more quiet and comfortable and was the easiest to park a d maneuver in small spaces. In the end I bought the Pilot Elite!! Looooove it!!!!
I rode in my cousin's wife's 2021 Honda Pilot touring not too long ago, and I absolutely loved the experience. Didn't get to drive it, but I loved the ride quality, as well as the features. It was very convenient having power seats for the passenger seat. Very nice of Honda to do that.
I have a 2022 Black Edition Ridgeline in Crystal Black 🤙🏾 And it works for what I need and love the look. I like this Pilot but at that sticker price I would go for the KIA
I would go for the Honda Pilot if they would “update” their look & add more features that one would find in other new vehicles you have featured before.

I got my sportage. Love the huge screens and it's features. I got the SX prestige. With a heated windshield. And I love controlling my suv with my phone.
Our old Pilot died last part of 2020 and I had to decide what to get or fix the old...8 decided to go new. I looked at EVERY SINGLE SUV, even the good ol' Tahoe, which for us was just too big for us. Ultimately I narrowed it down to the 2021 Pilot Black Edition and Telluride (Palisade was close, but Telluride looked better). I looked into the top trim because I wanted the nicer features like memory seats...compared to the Telluride, Pilot was just more practical in the sense that Honda had one of these on the lot, and I actually made an offer for 47kish for the Black Edition in white paint. The Telluride was 7-10% markup ABOVE MSRP and 6 month wait list...i decided forget it, I went with the Pilot Black Edition that included most everything including a Bluray player! Also, after a year, I discovered that driving this thing in sport mode is pretty awesome. The Pilot Engine is just amazing and sounds way awesome. The acceleration is fantastic and probably more fun to drive than Telluride. Also, I've parked next to the Telluride top trim and this Black Edition holds its own. It's an older design, but it's not bad considering! We didn't regret the purchase and the wife LOVES this thing! One more thing...get it with the welcome lights! I’m waiting for the Pilot redesign to trade in our Odyssey. The Telluride is nice, but dealers are adjusting the price by $5K+ in my area and I don’t have faith in their long term reliability. When you say Kia I still think 1998 Kia Sephia.
I remember the Sephia, dealers were giving them away cheaper than new Ford Escorts and Chevy Cavaliers back then lol, guess it helped them get their foot in the door though.
If the dealer jacks the price on ANY KIA contact the manufacturer and report them. Hyundai owns KIA and they are very clear that jacking up prices is NOT allowed.

Definitely this over kia. Any day all day....the regular lights don't bother me. All those high end headlights and taillights are much more costly to replace.
My wife has a Pilot and I am just not crazy about the car - generally I find Honda SUVs underwhelming - but this car looks nice. Saw one at the dealer last year when I had my Accord in the service department. Wouldn’t get it right now since it sounds like a redesign is very close. I agree that the chrome badges are ridiculous - black them out! And the same for that chrome dealer tag frame, though that would be off within minutes of getting the car home.
Great review Joe. I agree the wiper should've been hidden and the badging should be blacked out. The lighting should also be LEDs. The MPG and MSRP are turnoffs. I can't wait for your review of the redesign.
I didn’t see you mention the the back liftgate was also hands free - we own the 2022 pilot black edition - can’t bypass Honda reliability and it is a great ride - very comfortable
I have always loved the Pilot's styling. I would have bought one this year but inflation is bigger than my ego! Something about those Tellutides look off. The rear looks strange at certain angles and I just cant get into the crooked square daytime running light. Nothing personal Telluride owners, I would still buy it and get used to it. Great review, as always.
I could live with the interior, it's not that bad still. But that exterior is another story. Cut the top strip off of that stapler headlight and the front would look way better.

I pick up one of this bad boy 2 days ago for steal deal. Trade in my wife’s crv hybrid for a whopping 35k and got the pilot SE black on black for 48k. My crv is paid off and use that towards the pilot. Not bad of a deal. Low monthly payment.
Silly leaving the emblem silver. Black it out. Also judging by the blink those front turn signals ARE NOT led signals. Maybe the back ones are (video hasn’t got to the back by this post), but the fronts for sure aren’t. The mirror signals are led, but I’m talking about those in the front bumper. Sorry but that Pilot is dated and in know way can compare with that boss Telluride.

I went to Kia, Honda and Hyundai this weekend. To be honest, Telluride is way more impressive on the videos, when in the car seemed to me cheap plastic and very poor finishing (for the price tag). Honda is old, still reliable and very good quality material, but the age is shown at the panel and at technology. The Palisade between the three of them shows a bit of respect for how much it cost. Definitely way above the Telluride in all aspects (talking about the Caligraphy Ed). Now what scared me the most? palisade has a waiting list of NINE MONTHS... The Telluride? FOURTEEN MONTHS... yeah ladys and gentlemen... If you wanna a car, wait for 2080 when covid might be gone for good....
Where do you live? I accompanied my friend to a Hyundai and kia Dealership in Southern Cali this past January and there were plenty of telluride's, Palisades, Santa Fes and Tucson's in the lot. She Walked out with a Santa Fe XRT within a few hours. Not sure I buy your story bro. Here in AZ, there are nearly 200 Palisades available within a 40 mile radius and 40 telluride's. Sounds like ur making 💩 up dude.

The black edition is nice. I bought my wife one. Not much cargo room with the third row up. Great value for what all you get with it. Honda needs to fix their blind spot indicators because they do not pick up motorcycles.
OMG! A Garbage can lid! I can't stop laughing! You are just too much! I just bought one myself on Sat! I got it in that Gray color though, not the black. I'm loving it, but I do feel it was a step down from my Infiniti QX80 in comforts. I know I will not regret the MUCH better fuel economy, but I'm already missing the sound in the Infiniti, as the sound system was incredible! I just feel at the end of the day, the Honda is going to last WAY longer! I had only 145K miles on the QX80 and the Catalytic Converters were going, the passenger door wouldn't always unlock and there was lots of little cosmetics starting to go. I have faith that just won't be the case with the Honda.
I always have to say one thing in this video: I consider as an honda fan of their products especially this one. Because I love this SUV with this trim level, Also this will be my choice to get this vehicle over the Kia telluride & Show it to my friends & family. Overall, fantastic job & review joe.
Honda pilot isn't bad. Like the black with the black wheels, power wise I guess they are equal, but for me, I think the amenities/ tech with the Telluride wins me over.
Great car but i went with a 21 kia telluride sx wolf gray knightfall edition.. have already 30 tho miles on it and no issues at all… great family suv.. not the best on fuel but doesnt really matter to me.. i would say telluride would be better choice
I have the 2018 one and it is EXACTLY the same i think I would wait for the refresh (coming in 2023) if i want to stick to Honda. the Kia will make you think twice though :)
Hondas are built well and have a stellar reputation. Kia is making some amazing vehicles now, but they have a long way to go to prove their long term reliability. That being said , people "dis" the Jeep GC because of "sub par reliability". I have had 4 with no issues and have a '22 short wheelbase Altitude edition on order. The interiors on these new Jeeps are at another level. Go sit in one you won't believe it. Say what you want about Jeep but they can't build them fast enough and you don't get one of the highest loyalties in the biz by selling sub par vehicles. They ride impeccably and go through any conditions you throw at them. So my loyalty stays with Jeep.

52k? For what? A trip to the past? This is the oldest looking and oldest interior I've seen this year. It's 2022!! Come on Honda!! Little Rooftop screen? What year is it? 2006? This is not going to sell well, specially since it's getting redesign. This will be less than 40k at the end of the year. I'll take the telluride over this without hesitation. Believe it or not the Telluride is even holding it's value.
The badging was blacked out on 2021, so I'm not sure why they went with chrome in '22. I've been considering just swapping out mine for the '21 badges, but I don't mind so much. The back kind of looks funny when it is de-badged, so maybe the black emblems just blended in too much. Why on earth would anyone buy a Kia? I still see 2003 Pilots on the road. What I am not going to see in 10 years are 2022 Tellurides. Hondas have a PROVEN track record for being long lasting 200k+ mileage cars. And they hold their value. I no world would I put a Kia against a Honda and the Kia wins. They have far more issues because they use cheaper components. Nothing is built to last in a Kia, so even if the engine lasts as long as the Honda, the interior will have fallen apart long ago. Especially if you are in the $50k range for buying a car, why would you waste that on a Kia?

@@porfiriato84 I am at Canada. Not USA. If things are better down there. Good for you. We have plenty of Tellurides, Pilots and Palisades. All in the lot. All sold out. Funny thing is. I am talking about bananas. And you about oranges, Santa Fe was available here as well.
The black edition is nice. I bought my wife one. Not much cargo room with the third row up. Great value for what all you get with it.
Honda needs to fix their blind spot indicators because they do not pick up motorcycles.

OMG! A Garbage can lid! I can't stop laughing! You are just too much! I just bought one myself on Sat! I got it in that Gray color though, not the black. I'm loving it, but I do feel it was a step down from my Infiniti QX80 in comforts. I know I will not regret the MUCH better fuel economy, but I'm already missing the sound in the Infiniti, as the sound system was incredible! I just feel at the end of the day, the Honda is going to last WAY longer! I had only 145K miles on the QX80 and the Catalytic Converters were going, the passenger door wouldn't always unlock and there was lots of little cosmetics starting to go. I have faith that just won't be the case with the Honda.

I always have to say one thing in this video: I consider as an honda fan of their products especially this one. Because I love this SUV with this trim level, Also this will be my choice to get this vehicle over the Kia telluride & Show it to my friends & family. Overall, fantastic job & review joe.

Honda pilot isn't bad. Like the black with the black wheels, power wise I guess they are equal, but for me, I think the amenities/ tech with the Telluride wins me over.

Great car but i went with a 21 kia telluride sx wolf gray knightfall edition.. have already 30 tho miles on it and no issues at all… great family suv.. not the best on fuel but doesnt really matter to me.. i would say telluride would be better choice
I have the 2018 one and it is EXACTLY the same i think I would wait for the refresh (coming in 2023) if i want to stick to Honda. the Kia will make you think twice though :)
Hondas are built well and have a stellar reputation. Kia is making some amazing vehicles now, but they have a long way to go to prove their long term reliability. That being said , people "dis" the Jeep GC because of "sub par reliability". I have had 4 with no issues and have a '22 short wheelbase Altitude edition on order. The interiors on these new Jeeps are at another level. Go sit in one you won't believe it. Say what you want about Jeep but they can't build them fast enough and you don't get one of the highest loyalties in the biz by selling sub par vehicles. They ride impeccably and go through any conditions you throw at them. So my loyalty stays with Jeep.

This is not going to sell well, specially since it's getting redesign. This will be less than 40k at the end of the year. I'll take the telluride over this without hesitation. Believe it or not the Telluride is even holding it's value.

The badging was blacked out on 2021, so I'm not sure why they went with chrome in '22. I've been considering just swapping out mine for the '21 badges, but I don't mind so much. The back kind of looks funny when it is de-badged, so maybe the black emblems just blended in too much.
Why on earth would anyone buy a Kia? I still see 2003 Pilots on the road. What I am not going to see in 10 years are 2022 Tellurides. Hondas have a PROVEN track record for being long lasting 200k+ mileage cars. And they hold their value. I no world would I put a Kia against a Honda and the Kia wins. They have far more issues because they use cheaper components. Nothing is built to last in a Kia, so even if the engine lasts as long as the Honda, the interior will have fallen apart long ago. Especially if you are in the $50k range for buying a car, why would you waste that on a Kia?

Overall I like it, but there are too many things I'd zonk. Rear wiper blade needs to be under the spoiler, the LED tail lights and the chrome badging. As nice as it is it's out of my price range.
If the rear wiper blade is upside down, it leaves blind spots because it makes a half-circle shape
