I've been doing a lot of cleaning jobs for the past couple years, and I think sanitary bins in men's rooms are a huge win for everyone. For the transmascs, for guys who use incontinence pads, or for just anyone who wants to rid their pockets of random trash while they have a minute to spare. There has been a lot less littering on the floors and fewer clogged toilets ever since it's become a requirement to have at least one stall with a bin in every men's room.
@@kofipita At least where I live, men's restrooms have one or more large trash cans by the sink or by the door, primarily for paper towel waste. Women's restrooms have the same thing, but they *also* have a small trash receptacle in each stall. This is because you're not supposed to flush your pad/tampon down the toilet, but you probably also don't want to carry your bloody garbage out of the stall and dispose of it in the main trash can where everyone else in the restroom can see. I live is a super rural conservative town. It’s hard to be queer because everything is over saturated with homophobia. Jamie’s videos are so sweet and provides a bit of escapism from this area. So thank you so much for your videos!! You’ve created such a supportive and kind community 💛💛💛
i’ve changed my name and can confirm it’s trilling to say it in starbucks for the first time! we don’t have this coffee chain anymore, but the last time i went there the barista said my name reminded her of one existing animal shelter and charity - and that’s how i’ve found a cool charity project. funny enough, they’ve named their shelter after the very first dog they treated, and i’m happy she’s my namesake 💛
Lately I’ve been noticing so many lgbtqia+ ads and I love it I live in Australia and they used to have no representation on tv other than shows but in ads now it’s like BOOM LESBIANS BOOM DRAG QUEEN BOOM F U HOMOPHOBIA AND TRANSPHOBIA HAHAHAHA but like my parents notice it in a bad way 😭
I see all the homophobes and transphobes, and they are just absolutely horrible and all they do is hurt people. But then I remember You, Thomas Sanders, Brandon Rogers, and many others and I feel happy again. You can't always get rid of hate, but you can always stop it from getting rid of the people you love. You make it easier to live. I've been supporting you for a while now.
Same. I think that's because with pride merch you have a lot more profit associated, they count on the sales and it can just be a relatively small compartment compared to their "regular" sold items. But with the ads, the companies actually make a (kind of) risky move to lose homo-/transphobic customers, it's more of a representation and signals change in society.
You’re only happy with LGBTQ+ representation when it’s in ads? Or you’re only happy with rainbow capitalism as it pertains to ads because those are an opportunity for visible acceptance of the LGBTQ+ community? Because those are two very different things, and I’m gonna need you to clarify.
I semi-agree, my reason is changing with the more lgbtq+ inclusive shows we are getting now. Back in the day when shows/movies wanted to be inclusive, they were only able to show lgbtq+ in an over the too/negative types of ways. I.e. pron, getting beat up/murdered (broke back mountain/boys dont cry), not faithful/always messing around (The L Word- i like the show, but the rep is bad still.) And granted, we needed some of that to bust walls down to get where we are now, i feel like people still ONLY see the lgbtq+ like that. Which is why I like these new age commercials because they are forcing people to see that lgbtq+ are just "everyday" people. Not all lesbians are pron stars (yes im spelling it so auto whatever doesnt pick it up.) Not all gay guys are "weak", not all trans people are predators, ect. I feel that commercials are showing "The REAL lgbtq+" and I love it better than shows are able to portray.
*Good, supportive husband! *I'm here ugly crying at the coffee commercial! Levi's is a long-time, authentic supporter of LGBT folks. I really loved their Pride designs this year, too. The "Radical Love" art and some items with subtle rainbow tabs instead of the usual red Levi's one.
Thick socks 100%. Bombas is honestly amazing. Their stuff is comfy and high quality, and for every item sold, they donate a piece of clothing to a homeless shelter.
I love Pattie Gonia! She's a queen that is all about enviroment issues, many of her outfits are made with recycled materials that are not good for use in hiking, and keeps being fabulous in nature ✨
It kinda annoys me, when ads get me tear up. I'm being brainwashed to buy a pick-up or a fancy flight, but I can't even be mad about it, because the ad is so sweet.
Seeing trans men being awesome makes me so HAPPY like when I came out I thought "NOOOO I'LL NEVER BE LOVED" If you're still at the "NOOOO I'LL NEVER BE LOVED" thing, don't worry. You'll be okay.
I feel like the part where the starbucks ad said it 'wasnt intended to offend anyone' was apologizing for offending transphobes... which they don't deserve. Phobes are only as butthurt as they choose to be, so they don't deserve any apologies if anyone offends them.
I was outed to my parents as nonbinary/transmasc a couple months ago and they weren't very supportive at all and the rest of my family doesn't know for a really good reason but i came out to my grandma who lives another state away and she was the supportive family member i needed i have very supportive amazing friends/ chosen family tho as well these videos help me forget abt the bad things just for a moment like a 20 ish min breather very random but the starbucks one made me think of that.
I reallt like the more kind of subtle ads rhat have LGBTQ rep in them. Like the national lottery advert thatvshows the timeline of a love story for a gay couple and other ones like that. It really helps towards normalisation cus like queer people ar ejust like eveyone else. We use the same products as everyone else, we live ordinary lives like everyone else.
This is insane timing, I'm recovering from a concussion, eye infection, cold, and cramps :/. Thanks Jamie for bringing positivity to our day! And these ads are all so wholesome and makes me happy for the representation:)

Just wanna drop by in the comments real quick to tell y'all about a Belgian coffee ad that also has really cool, kind of casual representation! It's called "Douwe Egberts, Something To Share" and it basically tells a quick story about a teenage girl who has her girlfriend over, but her dad comes home earlier than expected, so she tries to quickly hide her in her room (afraid of judgement from her father). Her father then texts her if they want some coffee, by which they both go downstairs (hereby the girl introducing her girlfriend) and then share a coffee and talk with her dad. It's honestly really cute and I just wanted to share it here real quick

Absolutely with you on the thick socks. Thin socks feel awful - especially since I need to wear orthotics and they have a smooth surface that thin socks slip around on. I like those work socks with the red ring on top, or hiking socks.

Oof, the Starbucks ad made me cry as soon as the girl walked through the door. And she’s so gorgeous too. I came out as a trans man to my parents this year at the age of 33 so it wasn’t easy for them to adapt. But today I spent the day with my mom and at one point we talked about how everything’s going (I do my therapy sessions at the moment so I’ll get T next year) and she used my new name and referred to me as her son and asked some questions and I feel so grateful. So far everyone I came out to has been super accepting and everyone tries to use the new name and pronouns and corrects themselves when they use the old ones by accident. I wish every trans person could have people in their life who support them
Tangential shift, your comment about the tongue piercing as to whether it would set off a metal detector... ...it depends Specifically on size/amount, material and of course, sensitivity of the metal detector in question. "In general, a few piercings-even if grouped together-usually do not pose a threat of setting off an alarm. However, with today's heightened security, it is always a possibility. The risk also increases with the more piercings you have, or if you wear larger jewelry like hoops or gauges." 🤔
She didn't just steal anyone's glasses, she stole Santa Claus' glasses. As for socks - no, the thickness of my socks change depending on how the shoes fit. I wear a US size 6 1/2 extra wide. Some shoes are just a touch too tight all the same for thick socks, so I have to wear thin ones to be able to wear them without my toes going numb.

I live is a super rural conservative town. It’s hard to be queer because everything is over saturated with homophobia. Jamie’s videos are so sweet and provides a bit of escapism from this area. So thank you so much for your videos!! You’ve created such a supportive and kind community 💛💛💛
Bro, as soon as the woman walked in the shop (in the Starbucks ad), it is was a wave of understanding of the story. I immediately cried 😆😭
The ford one made me cry 😂😭 I'm a lesbian mechanic working in a very cishet male world so it was so nice to see some support in such an environment ❤
i’ve changed my name and can confirm it’s trilling to say it in starbucks for the first time!
we don’t have this coffee chain anymore, but the last time i went there the barista said my name reminded her of one existing animal shelter and charity - and that’s how i’ve found a cool charity project. funny enough, they’ve named their shelter after the very first dog they treated, and i’m happy she’s my namesake 💛
For some reason the ads are the only place i feel happy with lgbtq related stuff
I.e. pron, getting beat up/murdered (broke back mountain/boys dont cry), not faithful/always messing around (The L Word- i like the show, but the rep is bad still.)
And granted, we needed some of that to bust walls down to get where we are now, i feel like people still ONLY see the lgbtq+ like that.
Jamie might not work for a postal service but he always delivers
*Good, supportive husband!
*I'm here ugly crying at the coffee commercial! My daughter (19) is currently living with her dad (long story) and he is not at all educated on trans issues, and is being difficult about her transitioning.
*Wow, sanitary bins in the men's bathroom! That's great progress!
*THICK SOCKS! 🧦
*🙏❤🏳🌈🏳⚧🟦
I cried at the coffee ad. I hope my family will one day be like this
The actor that voiced the Cheshire Cat also voiced Whinnie the Pooh, that probably why you got the two mixed up.
Not me getting an ad about detransitioning on this video 😭 (a pragarU ad, I think Jamie covered another one of their ads in a “homophobic ads” video)
Glad I'm not the only one who's cried because of the wholesome Starbucks ad
It kinda annoys me, when ads get me tear up. I'm being brainwashed to buy a pick-up or a fancy flight, but I can't even be mad about it, because the ad is so sweet.
Seeing trans men being awesome makes me so HAPPY like when I came out I thought "NOOOO I'LL NEVER BE LOVED"
If you're still at the "NOOOO I'LL NEVER BE LOVED" thing, don't worry.
You'll be okay.
The homophobes weren't mad about the North face or Levi thing because no one told them to be
My favourite ad at the moment is the Lottery advert. It made me tear up the first time I watched it. It's just so adorable.
I feel like the part where the starbucks ad said it 'wasnt intended to offend anyone' was apologizing for offending transphobes... which they don't deserve. Phobes are only as butthurt as they choose to be, so they don't deserve any apologies if anyone offends them.
I feel like it was a little zing at them instead. Sounded almost sarcastic to me
Yeah. You can never choose to stop receiving transphobia, but you can choose to stop dishing it out at any time.
Props for not crying at the Starbucks ad, I was sobbing 😭
This was fantastic. Including Jamie being off, because we can always have an off day. Love it, do more LGBTIA+ Love stuff
Been hurting over the lack of LGBT+ rep in media recently. Thanks for your video, Jamie.
The North Face campaign was one of my favourites this year, loved the queen's performance. Very rare I find an ad entertaining in and of itself 🎉
In the US "AA" has a very different meaning, but it actually works with "no stopping the real you" just as well.
I feel the Starbucks one so hard! It feels so good to see my name on the sticker every time I go!
The AA bit was confusing for a moment-- over here, AA is Alcoholics Anonymous.
Yeah, I think their AA is like our AAA. But since they're not American, they don't have the first "A".
This is insane timing, I'm recovering from a concussion, eye infection, cold, and cramps :/. Thanks Jamie for bringing positivity to our day! And these ads are all so wholesome and makes me happy for the representation:)
oh no, hope you get better!
thanks to Jamie too for making my day a bit better -3-

I am loving the longer videos so much. I am a fan of longer videos, because I have an attention span. Lol. Congratulations to Shaba! Xoxox
Thin socks in summer, thick the rest of the year, but any time they have to be knee length.
The Starbucks one with Arpita absolutely made me tear up...I just wish they made better coffee.
Off topic, but I just noticed the emotional support demon plushie on his shelf! That's so cute!
ahhh Shaaba's song comes out on my birthday! what a lovely birthday gift!

Bruh, why did the starbucks one actually make me cry. Like I'm almost full on sobbing.
The day my Blåhaj arrives is that same day that Jamie uploads. Now life is getting good 💃
Praise be
Congrats on your Blåhaj! I've had mine for a couple months now, and she brings me so much joy!
It’s okay to cry over a coffee advert. I’m crying, too.❤
Just wanna drop by in the comments real quick to tell y'all about a Belgian coffee ad that also has really cool, kind of casual representation!
The starbucks one made me cry at work.
1:28 Honestly, with the way you were saying it I just thought of Jerma. "Late, we're late, we're the late. We wake up late, procrastinate, we're the late"
13:59 slc is Salt Lake City, Utah!! (I’m in Utah and there’s quite a bit of homophobia in some places here so I was rlly happy to see that!)
I saw that braun ad and freggin lost it! I think shouted happy explatives at the monitor XD
Maybe I’m just feeling hyperemotional because I’m also sick but that Starbucks one got me good. I BURST into tears when the daughter opened the door and I had to pause the video to collect myself so I could keep watching 😅
Starbucks ad got me in the feels. 😭
SLC is Salt Lake City, Utah. Sometimes cheekily abbreviated as SL, UT. I live here.
14:00 SLC is Salt Lake City, Utah. Sometimes also abbreviated to SL, UT because it's funny.
No socks!! Toe prisons. sandals and flip flops and shoeless all the way!!
This is such a nice video ❤ there's a huge resurgence of transphobia in my area to the point I have avoided going out again, to a degree, so it is nice to see positivity ❤❤❤❤
Always love your videos
Absolutely with you on the thick socks. Thin socks feel awful - especially since I need to wear orthotics and they have a smooth surface that thin socks slip around on. I like those work socks with the red ring on top, or hiking socks.
SLC is salt lake city, Utah (the funniest acronym for which is SL,UT). i live in Utah and I'm honestly appalled this is the first I'm hearing of this XD
i remember seeing something on tumblr mentioning that the US National Parks are Overwhelmingly Queer now. Not just a lot of us visiting the parks but like. A HUGE portion of the staff across the country openly identify as queer. and i feel like i remember them mentioning a pride walk through all the parks?
7:08 "but you stole the glasses" 🤣🤣
I always appreciate the ads with the progress flag bc corporations have to pay to use it. Makes it seem just that little bit more sincere
I went to a pride event (only my second ever!) and the Emcee was a drag queen named Patty O' Furniture. And she was awesome.
That Virgin Atlantic ad; with "I am what I am" in it; always makes me think "I'm Popeye the Sailor Man" when it comes on!
Hope you feel better soon Jamie, the premise of the Boots Christmas Ad,is that father Christmas left his glasses on the bus,the girl (who is the actress from TV series it's a sin) puts them on and sees the world as father Christmas does,at the end father Christmas picks up his glasses again,it was about inclusivity at Christmas(Matt)
The Starbucks one really got me. Such a sweet and meaningful gesture!
I wish every trans person could have people in their life who support them
Tangential shift, your comment about the tongue piercing as to whether it would set off a metal detector...
...it depends
Specifically on size/amount, material and of course, sensitivity of the metal detector in question.
"In general, a few piercings-even if grouped together-usually do not pose a threat of setting off an alarm. However, with today's heightened security, it is always a possibility. The risk also increases with the more piercings you have, or if you wear larger jewelry like hoops or gauges."
🤔
She didn't just steal anyone's glasses, she stole Santa Claus' glasses.
As for socks - no, the thickness of my socks change depending on how the shoes fit. I wear a US size 6 1/2 extra wide. Some shoes are just a touch too tight all the same for thick socks, so I have to wear thin ones to be able to wear them without my toes going numb.
I absolutely adore the McDonald's drive thru one. Nothing says true love quite like "bothering" your person while theyre having a slow day at work. 💖
SLC stands for Salt Lake City. The capitol city of Utah. Utah is (or at least was given the governmental antagonism) known for it's outdoor recreation which brought in tourists.
The state (and most everywhere excluding SLC proper) is also rather known for the predominant anti-lgbtqia2+ religion: The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints a.k.a. Mormons.
@@MaraJrianne True. And thanks for pointing out that SLC proper isn't as bad for the LGBTQ. Though it does still have a high number of mormons, owing to the main temple being located there.
Cheers Jamie, needed the positivity today. Have a great day!
I got that awful anti trans Enoch documentary ad in the middle of this video, so I'm glad to see all these nice ones to balance it out a little 😅
The Boots video, the case says S.C. on the inside - I'm assuming they're Santa's glasses!
Thank you for making a more positive video! I really like seeing your more positive content, it makes me happy.
Bombas are amazing!!!! They've been my go to for years now, definitely nice and thick (as I need that too), I even wear them under my tights because I too need my proper sock as a barrier for thinner options. They even donate a pair for every pair purchased which is great
Joy for all except for whoever lost those yuletide magic glasses! If someone saw what I wanted for the holidays they would be surprised. That's because they wouldn't see anything, they would just feel peace and love inside.
I have a few pairs of Bonnie socks. They're so thick and comfy!! Also I got them during a campaign where if you bought a pair they donated a pair to lgbt+ homeless shelters (specifically to trans homeless kids/ adults).
I teared up at the coffee ad 😭😭 so sweet ahhhhhhhh 😭
Right off the bat, AA in the US is Alcoholics Anonymous. The car service is "triple A" or AAA.
A FUCKING. COFFEE AD. MADE ME CRY.
Have you seen the National Lottery advert with the cute gay couple? And also the Chancellors estate agent ad with VERY sapphic undertones, that ones so cute too!
Might be a trans woman thing, but I actually love wearing thin socks. pre-transition, it felt like I was wearing very short nylons, and actually gave me a little euphoria.
Jamie telling everyone he's not feeling so Hot and he'll probably be low energy... and also talking at 70 words per second and looking like a shampoo commercial!!
