I love the concept behind the scrambled versions (reminiscent of past paleontology) but I wish that you could get their full forms after failing once or something.
In twenty years when we get a remake, hopefully we can get their true forms, as well as more mix'n'matched versions
I would've much preferred if they instead just had an evolutionary line or alternate form based on past archaeology. So when you initially revive the fossil you get an old wrong reconstruction and you can change it into its true form. So the first form might be based on for example the Crystal Palace Iguanodon that's just like a massive iguana with a horn on its nose, and the evolution or alternate form becomes the modern reconstruction iguanodon with a thumb spike. Or the first is a spider based on the old idea of Megarachne and the second form gains water type as it becomes a sea scorpion like we know it today.
Would also work as an evolution like Accelgor and Escavalier. I hate trade evolutions but if they arent going away, maybe trading dracovish and dracovish gives you the corrected pokemon or something idk how it would work

There was a 8 year gap for the gen 1 remakes
There was a 10 year gap for the gen 2 remakes
There was a 12 year gap for the gen 3 remakes
There was a 15 year gap for the gen 4 remakes
I fully expect it to be 20+ years before we ever revisit galar

These designs are really cool!
Because the fossils only come in heads and bodies depending on which one. If you look at the normal ones there's Dracovish, Arctovish, Dracozolt, and Arctozolt. Arcto and Draco are bodies and Vish and Zolt are heads. There's no Arctodraco or Zoltvish and no combinations of the same fossil twice
It's also shown in their typing. Vish (like fish) are water types, Zolt (like volt) ones are electric, Draco (in the name) are dragons, and Arcto (arctic) are ice
People complaining about not getting the full forms completely miss the point of them

@@saurav3561 they’re all basically a reference to how scientist screwed up fossil restorations before carbon dating was a thing and it makes sense that the fossils are that way since you basically got a back alley “scientist”, not the usual full lab you go to restore fossils in any other game…
I think the origins of why the galar fossil pokemon are mixed is cool i just wish you could revive them in their accurate form as well.

these designs are so solid i can easily visualize them existing in a 3d space. arctoelasmo especially, i just love thinking about what itd look like when extending out the shards on its neck for protective purposes in battle or even some sort of pokemon amie situation

Game freak could give us the true versions of these fossils in the form of past paradox formes.
These designs are cool but I’ll forever love the mixed up designs we got. I think that was one of the Pokémon teams most creative ideas ever! They were in a UK based region, and so they followed the old UK scientists that mixed-and-matched a bunch of old fossils long ago as well. Hella clever!

It's literally HARDER and takes more work to make creature designs and then mix-and match them like they did than it does to just make the creature designs alone. While im not a huge fan of these fossils i do think the idea of swapping parts is pretty humourous. Imagine being able to swap ANY fossil mon.
I personally really love the freaks of nature we got, especially with the unique concept behind it but of course I'd still really want their completed forms in the game as well
Wow I forgot about these. Really neat reference of old paleontology, but wow it's kind of dark to have the mismatched fossils actually be alive and conscious.
Like, they probably each can barely walk, breathe, even move without pain and discomfort. A realistic rendering of the draco ones with the cross sectioned back half would be horrifying.
These complete designs are relaly neat though!

I would have loved if we got the ability to fuse two of the same fossils together to get the actual mon. Like we unlock it in post ending, we go to another scientist who will restore them right. We still have the original careless scientist if we want the mixed ones instead.

As much as the *_concept_* behind the Galar fossil Pokemon is really cool, especially because it references scientific history, it's... it's really hard for me to comprehend how nobody looked at those designs at any point in the process and went, "ya know, maybe we should just... not."
These designs actually look like Pokémon I'd want to use! Not like some failed lab experiment that desperately needs to be put out of its misery.

I only just learned about galars fossiles. I now understand why ash's dracovish seemed like it wanted to fucking kill itself.

I know the whole "fused fossil" gimmick was meant to be a reference to the Crystal Palace Dinosaurs and the way the first elasmosaurus was incorrectly reconstructed, but building a skeleton wrong is one thing. It's a lot more fucked up to combine two fossils and then *raise them from the dead* in a move that makes Mewtwo's creation look ethical by comparison. I feel like giving the fossil quartet the Old Yeller treatment just to put them out of their misery, jesus christ...

Why did we not get these coolest fossils in ages
These designs rock, makes me wish that a future Pokemon game actually covers what those prehistoric Pokemon are instead of the monstrous Chimeras they were revived as.
I do like how this does poke fun at how some dinosaurs were completely fictional for a time, or combos of multiple Dino’s. Like yeah this did happen and if we revived them they would not be happy mixed and matched
God dammit, these designs are all so much better than what we actually got. I know them being mixed up was a reference to real life fossils being incorrectly assembled, but all of these are just so much better and I hope we get them as actual designs one day.
As an aspiring paleontologist I am PISSED I didn’t recognize the Dunkleosteus. To me it looks like it could have been an ancestor of Wishiwashi. I love how Velizizolt looks like a normal Velociraptor being all small and cute. I wish we could’ve gotten more fossils or just a fossil focused game
the really dropped the ball on these pokemon, didn’t even bother getting the fossils because they were scrambled and unappealing

Three of them are missing their rock typing.
Ice Rock, Electric Rock, and Dragon Rock.
For those that don't know, these Pokémon are based on a real life thing that happened back at the height of fossil craze. It got to the point where in order to get any notoriety some people would mix up two or different sets of fossils from different species and try to pass it off as a new discovery. I know that doesn't mean much to a lot of people, but my kid, who loves dinosaurs to the point of wanting to be a paleontologist since she was 4, loves this group even more because of the acknowledgment of this point in history.

I wish we got these, I get the gimmick as it based of true history of bones being mixed up but maybe they could have do it so there’s a big chance the Pokémon’s body gets mixed up and then a small chance like 1/10 of the fossils you bring back form the actual Pokémon

This is the first time I've seen someone complete the Draco fossil as anything other than a Stegosaurian.
These might be the first good fakemons I’ve ever seen
Basically just made a long neck Lapras, a blue relicanth, a toon world Zapdos and finally a unique one
Ceratosaurus hits hard especially if you’ve ever played Fossil Fighters. Oh man the nostalgia hits hard. Pokémon made a huge mistake not having all of the variants available
