  • Ziegenberg castle translates from German as 'caprine, goaty hill' - and strangely, when I climbed up to the top of this hill castle, a doe (a fallow-deer) was standing there gazing at me (and I was gazing at her)!
To reach the castle of Ziegenberg I rode my bicycle a distance of about 7 km to the west from Medenau castle (which we visited previously: • Medenau hill castle of... ), via the now poorly visible old German roads, hidden in rural fields and thick forests, along the deserted ex German dwellings (all being demolished and ruined), using the old German maps.
The exact location is: 54.778132, 20.125694
