One of the best Electro Musicians ever! I love every album. There is never an average one or even a bad one. All EPs, and LPs, I have are little robot music pearls. That set is proof of his musical genius: complex rhythm patterns, beautiful melodies and excellent drama. Great work, Carl! Thanks. I just discovered Finlow a few months back. I'm old enough to have remembered the Nu Skool Breaks era of 99-2002 (Adam Freeland, etc) , but somehow I missed this guy.
@ROOTSCONTRA breakbeat and electro are not that far from each other and borrow from each other, and Finlow does have some Nu-Skool breaks sounding tracks in that era, from my research.
Carl Finlow is quality. Electro legend...Sometimes i wish he'd ease off on the sound effecty type stuff he adds in tracks because his tracks are usually so solid, great beats and bass sound and then he adds a annoying teleporty sound effect that takes away from the track (in my opinion). @@futureskeletons66669 Don't agree 1. He also does this in his recordings and i don't like them their either, it's a general thing with his tracks that i think he doesn't need. 2. You do not have to fill time in live sets with effects, mixing tracks alone offers new dimensions and thats not even getting into all stuff you can get into with H/LPF, Live sampling, Loops, scratching...there are loads of things to do 3. This is my opinion, you might have another and that's fine but for ME i don't buzz off the effects.
The hardware is obviously recorded as clips. In my opinion, its ok to play with gross neonlight decorated machines when youre still playing the game on the level that he does. Much hardware hasnt ever make a great producer, its what you do with what you got and I mean, its fucking Carl Finlow. Maybe he is just looking for some new ways to do music since he already played with hardware over 20 years ago...
If you were smarter you would use google. FYI: According on CF facebook account I can asume that he use VST only with tons of USB controllers. Yes its possible to make good sound with plug-ins only, but its not about this musician. By my opinion Carl making fastfood music , as he wrote once "10 tracks per 1 day"...well, for me its lame.
