    Just an FYI: Recently there have been a spat of ads on FB media. There are numerous page ads run by the same people that are scamming people out of their money ,prices ranging between 50 and 70 U.S. dollars or more, by posting pics stolen from many of the makers listed above in the video. The page names so far are Fisnkio, H-Gents , Kansas&Hatters ,Threadhat Shop , just to name a few (there are more I'm sure). What they send (if that) are nothing more than junky costume hats made of cheap wool felt or even a plastic-ish material with a fuzz coating. Also...The website links they have are guaranteed to steal your information ,so please be cautious.

      Thanks for letting folks know. I’ve seen those ads and they are absolutely scams. With more folks like yourself spreading the word, less people are likely to get their hard earned money taken for trash. A good hat, new, will cost over $100.

    Thanks for putting this out there. Certainly a great selection of hatters to choose from and all quality workmanship. 🍻

      Thanks, John!
      This is the kind of video that I wanted to see when I was first looking for a hat. I’m currently compiling more hatters for my next episode in the series.
      Also going to do a jacket video, too.
      Thanks for commenting, John. Always great to hear from you. Hope you are well!

    I have an Akubra myself and I love it. I recently made an order for a Last Crusade style fedora from The Northwest Hat Company. Mike was extremely friendly and easy-going to deal with. Should be ready around late September.

    Can’t recommend the Akubra Federation IV Deluxe enough, I have brown and moonstone and they’re fantastic! They’ll take a little time to soften up and conform to your head but once they do it’ll feel custom made. And they look like a dead wringer for The Last Crusade style. They really punch above their weight and will only get better with wear and tear! And best of all they come from a true Heritage company.

    • @HatLifeAdventures
      @HatLifeAdventures  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes! The Fed IV really is a long-haul hat that does it in style! I have four myself and my first and second I can hardly tell that I’m wearing them. If I feel anything, it’s a comforting feeling.
      Thanks, Jesse, it’s great to hear from you!

      I’m really wanting a Fed IV Deluxe both for it’s style and it’s durability (I’m looking for a hat that I can do some genuine heavy duty adventuring in). The Hattery hasn’t had them in my size for weeks and I’m getting worried they never will!

      @@briantwiss9078 Yeah, there’s been talk that Akubra’s been having felt supply shortages, but they’re definitely worth the wait.

      @@briantwiss9078 you might could shoot them an email to see if they'll notify you when they get your size in. They might be happy to do just that; very nice people!

    It’s funny that I found out about Katoomba hats, which is an hour from where I live from your video. I was just looking for a good hat. I didn’t even think about akubra

      That is funny! That’s how it goes, though; take a trip across country and meet someone from your hometown.
      Sounds like you’re in for a road-trip! The folks at The Hattery are fantastic. If you go, let me know how it goes!

    What do you think of the Croch Flower sourced Cairo Poet hat?

    • @HatLifeAdventures
      @HatLifeAdventures  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think that I would stay away from them. Even for a wool hat, $50 is going to be cheaply made and you’re probably not going to be happy with it.
      The lowest cost options for an Indy hat that’s going to last are going to be Akubra’s Federation IV, Miller Hats Indy and AdVintage’s Harrison.
      Thank you for watching and for the question!

    Thank you for the information. I had my Indy made at Peters Brothers Hats in Fort Worth, TX. They've been in business since 1911 and started making hats when the moved into their new location. In 1933. While "screen correct" was an option, I chose to go a bit of different route. After consulting with Mr. Peters, I chose to have the brim made the same width all around and the crown lower, with a tear drop shape. It looks better on me. My Indy is more paying homage to Dr. Jones than it is copying him.

    • @HatLifeAdventures
      @HatLifeAdventures  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That’s the best hat to have: one that reflects your own personal style. I was going to include Peters Brothers but their website just doesn’t have much info that I could find. Thank you for watching!
