The next episode is not from the original manga, it was from a draft made by the author during the celebration of Rurouni Kenshin's 25th anniversary in 2021. It was shown in the RK Exhibition so this is the first time the fans will see it animated.
20:55 I think the casting for Shakku and the character's silhouette being similar to Zoro's design are intentional nods to the fact the Eiichiro Oda was an art assistant to the mangaka that wrote Rurouni Kenshin prior to publishing One Piece in 1997.
Again so many new contents and fighting scene has been added compares to original version. The whole story of this anime is so positive by telling how this guy sacrifice himself for chasing peace which is very heart touching.

Finally early for once, and I think this episode did the Cho fight and Kenshin’s resolve justice, was as excited as you for when I found out Shakku’s VA was Zoro’s. Yeah Cho is a lot more durable than he looks, same as Sanosuke but not to that degree and his true proficiency was with the Hakujin is nothing to sneer at. Yet once Kenshin has his hands on a blade, it’s was all over. As I said last video in terms of the Ten Swords he’s more middle of the pack, something Cho himself acknowledges. And here with Kenshin…bet he and Cho are thankful the sword was a sakabato. Cho threatening Iori, an embodiment of what Kenshin holds dear about the Meiji era for the next generation briefly brought out the Battosai since his battle with Saito. As an added note, Mitsuri’s and Cho’s swords are based on an actual sword the urumi. A type of sword from India and the only realistic practical whip sword type in real life. Been in practice and forging for around 2,000 years although not widely used. Cho’s Hakujin is a more accurate depiction of an urumi than Mitsuri’s blade. Finally this episode covers most of the other half of Episode 40 and Chapter 81 of the 96 anime and manga…after that I’ll admit is completely unknown. After Kenshin remembers his talk Shakku and receiving the first sakabato, the ending scene and next episode title is something that I think has never been done before. The date the episode 4th year of Keio, effectively 1868 and in October 22nd of that year was readopted as the 1st year of the Meiji. 10 years before the series starts and a large period of little we know about Kenshin’s wanderings. Unless this is an extra chapter in the manga I donor remember, this is completely original content taking place months after the Bakumatsu and Kenshin became a rurouni. Think the next episode is going to touch up on that period before returning to the present, but can’t wait to see what they cook up next episode.
Apparently next episode isn't covered in the og manga but a draft of it was published by the author in 2021 as a one-off for Kenshin's 25th anniversary. It's a similar situation to the flashback in season 1 about Kenshin meeting Dr. Elder (also wasn't in the og manga but was written by the author in the Restoration manga from 2012)
Learned about this after I posted, I was aware of the Restoration Manga during Season 1. But never knew this draft existed until after this episode released, so completely new to me for next week.
That is the only part i prefer of the 90s anime. That scream was... wow. But the fight in the remake is fantastic and that ost for the Ryukasen Tsumuji was, mmm *chef kiss*

I was obsessed with Kenshin when I was in my teen years. I watched it on t.v. after I got out of school, at 3:30 p.m. everyday. While a lot of my peers were more DBZ fans (which I was), Kenshin always had the N1 place in my heart. I downloaded all the albums, and made "custom" ones. We re talking 1998 so my download speed was literally 2-3 kb/sec on a good day. A 3-5 mb mp3 took around 20 or 30 min and praying you had a stable connection. I downloaded all the albums, all the openings and endings in video (videos were around 50-60mb), and saved for a whole year to buy a little sword I saw at a variety store at my small town. Now I can only imagine what my poor dad thought watching me slicing all our plantains trees in our backyard while practicing "kenshins techniques". Although the first season was good this second season has definitely improved a lot. The direction, the music, everything has been great. Now, 3 months away from being 40, I can only consider myself lucky bc I never expected a remake. This episode was done masterfully, and I must say better than the 90s anime. I love that new people are enjoying this awesome story and I love your reactions!!!

He's been a lot of badass swordsmen over the years. Zoro from One Piece. Jin from Ghost of Tsushima. Masamune from Sengoku Basara. The list goes on. It kinda feels fitting that he would be the voice of the one who forged Kenshin's sakabato.
@@Camuska That's not really true, only ones who are definetely stronger than him are Sojiro, Usui, Anji, and maybe Fuji. No way that Henya, Kamatari and the rest are stronger than him.

I have a suggestion for next video. Why don't you make a video where u react to ONE PIECE songs? I recommend playlist titled Sea Shanties from Grand Line by MelodicMythons EN. Their music is very nice and ( if you are a One Piece fan) it's a pleasure to listen. By the way your film are great 💪💪
The original episode was much more tense, this was sub par in comparison really. This remake has some good stuff but the epic episodes such as this one with the potential turning point for the main protagonist seem to always be less than the original. Shame.

Of course he should. He was gonna use kenshin's life as a scapegoat to get his son and it wasn't until Kenshin said that line,that he realized he was gonna let someone as kindhearted as him die and that's what enforces his decision to entrust kenshin with his father's last sword. What's there to be confused about?
Do me a favor if you haven’t watched the 90’s version….this fight is episode 33 watch how much better it was. Not hating on this season but the 90’s version was so much better and cho is more menacing than he is on here
just curious youve never watched rurouni kenshin before? also keshin prattling about protecting life but youre not willing to kill to protect. he would rather see everybody around him die then to take a life to protect. thats what irritates me about these mc's that refuse to kill, it makes no sense. as ive grown older these kind of mc's really annoy me. Also when the dude wanted to run to get his son everybody hated on him because how dare you use kenshin as a decoy. but now that kenshin tells him to go get his son now its suddenly ok? 0 HE WAS GONNA DO IT FROM THE START. 0 logic in this episode
You can protect people without the need to kill,plus the whole point of the series is to help you realize that the person you kill is also a human like you. If you kill your enemy for your goals how are you any better than him at that point?! Also no,even though Kenshin told Seiku to use him as a scapegoat to get his son he DIDN'T DO THAT,but instead went to the temple to give Kenshin his father's last sword to survive. He decides to save Kenshin because he saw that Kenshin was someone who believes that a new era is not created through swords but through people which is what Seiku also believes. Before this Seiku thought that Kenshin was no different than someone like Cho,that he was someone who let the sword do the talking and didn't care about peace but when he saw that Kenshin didn't glorify killing(like you enjoy for some reason)that's when he decided to trust him. If you didn't bother paying attention to the story and you think Kenshin should kill then congratulations you missed the whole point of the show,that it's a story about REDEMPTION. The story of a war torn individual that wishes to fight for the people he cares about and not kill again in order to be a kinder person and for some reason that's a weakness to you? I guess the term"war PTSD"can be easily forgotten huh.

Also not wanting to or being able to kill to save your loved ones, doesnt make you strong. it makes you weak. youre telling me somebody walks in grapes your wife and daughter, kills your daughter and holds your wife hostage. you would not kill them? that doesnt make a better person it makes you weak. Yeah, they are still good friends. Oda left his team after the end of this arc to work on One Piece .
In the manga, another character also display the Strawhats jolly roger as a tribute to Oda from Watsuki

この2人は師弟関係です。
剣士であるゾロは、るろうに剣心の影響が大きいと言われています。
ゾロが将来、片眼になる事も相談済みで、それを聞いた和月はるろうに剣心の作品の中に片眼のキャラを描かなかったそうです。

my first watch of kenshin was back in 1999 i was 12-13yo at that time ❤
Just remember what kenshin did to kurogasa when he returned to battosai for only a minute so yeah cho is so lucky

Cho is indeed speaking in Osaka dialect, it's very easy to recognize. Osaka is roughly 55km / 60km from Kyoto, its an hour drive

After this arc ends you should watch the original just to compare both anime adaptations. You will not be dissapointed watching the original one.
Fun fact, Cho is incredibly weak for a Juppongatana since he was introduced so early :D

The original episode was much more tense, this was sub par in comparison really. This remake has some good stuff but the epic episodes such as this one with the potential turning point for the main protagonist seem to always be less than the original. Shame.
sorry but they dropped the ball on the main scene 12:45, the original was superior. Sure the fight looked better but that scene just didn't have the impact.

He was gonna use kenshin's life as a scapegoat to get his son and it wasn't until Kenshin said that line,that he realized he was gonna let someone as kindhearted as him die and that's what enforces his decision to entrust kenshin with his father's last sword.

also keshin prattling about protecting life but youre not willing to kill to protect. he would rather see everybody around him die then to take a life to protect. thats what irritates me about these mc's that refuse to kill, it makes no sense. as ive grown older these kind of mc's really annoy me. Also when the dude wanted to run to get his son everybody hated on him because how dare you use kenshin as a decoy. but now that kenshin tells him to go get his son now its suddenly ok? 0 HE WAS GONNA DO IT FROM THE START. 0 logic in this episode
You can protect people without the need to kill,plus the whole point of the series is to help you realize that the person you kill is also a human like you.
If you kill your enemy for your goals how are you any better than him at that point?!
Also no,even though Kenshin told Seiku to use him as a scapegoat to get his son he DIDN'T DO THAT,but instead went to the temple to give Kenshin his father's last sword to survive.
He decides to save Kenshin because he saw that Kenshin was someone who believes that a new era is not created through swords but through people which is what Seiku also believes.
Before this Seiku thought that Kenshin was no different than someone like Cho,that he was someone who let the sword do the talking and didn't care about peace but when he saw that Kenshin didn't glorify killing(like you enjoy for some reason)that's when he decided to trust him.
If you didn't bother paying attention to the story and you think Kenshin should kill then congratulations you missed the whole point of the show,that it's a story about REDEMPTION.
The story of a war torn individual that wishes to fight for the people he cares about and not kill again in order to be a kinder person and for some reason that's a weakness to you?

you have animes where some dude comes in kills the entire family of an mc has their friends loved one hostage and the mc is still like oh no i forgive you we can still be friends. no normal human being would do that first of all and again you missed my entire point. when he was trying to save his child by using kenshin as a scapegoat they all criticized him for wanting to do it. but somehow when kenshin says to do it everybody is ok with it. him deciding to not do that afterwards is irrelevant. Also not wanting to or being able to kill to save your loved ones, doesnt make you strong. it makes you weak. youre telling me somebody walks in grapes your wife and daughter, kills your daughter and holds your wife hostage. you would not kill them? that doesnt make a better person it makes you weak. Just like when Udō Jin-e was like if you dont kill me kaoru will die and kenshin was still trying to find a way to not kill. bro if my wifes life is on the line you can bet your ass i will kill you. that doesnt make kenshin a better man. that makes him weak. hes just virtue signaling at that point. its all great when youre a little kid. but as you grow older that logic makes NO SENSE and is actually a turnoff for me. too many animes have this character trope that refuse to kill even though the bad guy litteraly murked their entire family.i would atleast accept it if they would be like i want to kill you but im to weak to do so. but they litteraly make it a core value of the mc which is nonsense
