Cat got away from the asv undercarriage because employees did not take care of the uc. Keep it clean stay and away from rough rock. I have a rc30 with 900 hrs and a rc60 with 2100 hundred hours original uc. It's all about application. if you have a bunch of dumb employees buy a Taki style uc. Asv puts down the lowest ground pressures period which allows it to float in nasty conditions. Also has one of the highest ground clearance. Different designs have their purpose in certain conditions.
And for the record go look on our website and look at our track loaders (tier three and newer) when we put a hold on manufacturing loaders with the ASV system. Then go look at a TL250, CTL 85, or MTL 25 and then you have begun our first lesson of your homework
@ MRpositrack Once again you are wrong. Caterpillar does not own Terex. Caterpillar owns Bucyrus who has control of TEREX MINING DIVISION. Now Terex is the one of the closer companies to Caterpillar ONLY IN MINING!
Actually Cat got away from the ASV undercarriage because it was a terrible design. With the squirrel cage sprocket it was costing customers between $1000.00 and $5000.00 between 250 and 600 hours. That is why Cat engineered a undercarriage similar to Taki (mustang, Gehl) to prevent getting a bad name. The ASV system is the worst designed undercarriage on the market hands down. High priced tracks, rollers, sprockets, and idlers. Take it for what it is worth but look at all Terex products. JUNK!
takeuchi ru kidn theres a reason cat used these undercarriages . that taki wouldve dissappeared in this material . have owned both sold taki after 1month good hydraulic power ?speed in arms but that track system junk and cheap if this guy runn this new how to keep flat of bucket off ground when pushn youd see the real power
I rented 1 last week!!
Worked perfect.
It even pulled a car out of the woods that had all 4 wheels locked.
Diesel power pt60

I know, i was just saying it bc it is Asv's design, then Terex took it when they bought them out.
Its just a black and white ASV RC60
For legalities Esco Corporation has recently bought into Bucyrus which is now ESCOBucyrus.
Way better then the RC50, TURBO FTW
