Most of your comments are just plain sad. Homelessness could happen to anyone & if you have any kind of heart you’d be ashamed of yourselves for automatically assuming it’s predominantly drug related that forces people to be unhoused. Quite a lot of times people have mental or physical health issues that make it unable to hold a job. Others work but with what pay is might still not be able to afford a place to live. Addiction is also a disease so lump that in with health/physical and mental to prevent people from getting back on their feet eventually or at all. Dan in my opinion is an Angel & you commenters that say otherwise may want to say some prayers for your souls.
Forming a committee? There has never been a statue erected for a committee. Needs a take charge person, not a committee.

Cigarettes and coffee...🤷not necessarily a life requirement. I fucking hate going to work 6 days a week, but you gotta do what you gotta do. Not everyone who is homeless is addicted to illegal drugs. And have *you* worked to find a job in the cold with no help no transportation and no money WHILE having withdrawals? It's impossible. Plus, those withdrawals from cigarettes or drugs can KILL PEOPLE , especially those with underlying health conditions, or whose body is stressed which happens to a lot of the unhouses population.
How do you see a video with a woman with her clothes stolen in freezing weather, and say "just stop doing drugs and get a job" instead of "why aren't we helping them?"
Where are all the volunteers fixing all the property damage the homeless cause? I don't see anyone cleaning up feces on homeowners porches, or picking up needles in the parks. Also, the staffing agencies are able to provide an address for work purposes. All the volunteers and homeless know that.
