  • This short video shows how to study Northwind sample reports to learn how to create multi-column reports as well as how to create flexible reports that prompt for date ranges each time they are opened. In addition, report sections as well as how to group and sort records and create calculations and subtotals on groups of records are examined. Essential and fundamental report creation skills are reviewed including the Record Source property of the report, the Group, Sort & Total Pane, and how report sections determine where and how often controls within those sections are displayed.

Thank you for having this series of instructional video's for access. You have helped me a lot for answers to problems that I haven't been able to find previously. I do feel like I'm taking a college course all over again listening to you. I hope that you will continue to put out additional video's in this series. Thanks again. Jim

Thanks Jim! Yes, I do intend to return to this series and explain more about reports, forms, macros, and VBA in modules. I am still teaching full-time at a community college and had to pause this series for my 2020 fall semester but hope to finish up this playlist of youtubes about Access over the next year, summer of 2021 at the latest. Thanks for the kind words!!

Hello Prof - I had made a ton of reports before - but your use of the features was very good and I certainly learned a few new tricks - thank you!

"Reverse engineering" is a general term for figuring out how something works / was engineered in the first place.
