- Huge Beehive In Grandma's Pop Up Camper!
Grandma can't go camping, no sir! Honey bees took up residency in her pop up camper best guess 3 years prior to this removal & relocation.
Removing this colony was a bit of a nightmare, not going to lie folks. Hoses, wires, an electrical outlet, the water tank, these bees made me work to get them out of there & they weren't giving up without a fight!
Actually, all things considered they were in fact pretty gentle darlings who only popped me perhaps a few times if memory serves me right.
The pop up camper had to be pulled out from underneath the carport it was stored under in order to open the camper up to perform the removal.
This made things interesting as the returning foragers coming back in from the field was minus their home.
After the removal was performed the camper went right back in place & that made the estimated 3,000 displaced bees very happy!
The following night I returned & removed the bees so they could go to their new forever home in Gonzales, Louisiana.
This job was performed in March of 2018 right before the girls had a chance to throw off reproductive swarms.
Last I heard, Grandma is touring the country again in her traveling bee buggy.
Save the bees folks, Grandma did!

I’m glad I’m not crazy. I rewinded it twice and still was wondering if I was hearing right. The voice sounded like the sound a queen makes piping but without words of course 😂

Bees don't want to sting (normal honey bees) if ya got stung by a bumble bee then my kids are green and purple! Now if ya said ya got stung 1000 times by a wasp , hornet or yellow jacket... That I'd believe! 😜 Bees are our friends wasps are just evil buttheads!!

@@SpanishTwix stinging means death for honey bees, their stinger usually gets stuck and then they leave behind part of their abdomen then they die
@@paulisawsome29 they don't always die if you get stung they do sometimes manage to stay alive given time
@@SpanishTwix Also if you stay calm and not stress, they will leave you be. That's why JP is always calm and zen so he becomes one with the bees. The smoking part helps also though.

I havea fierce phobia of bees, and despite my absolute terror of them, I enjoy learning about them. I likely wouldn't be caught within 50-100 meters of a hive if I can help it, but I'm really glad to see that these hives are safely relocated. Bees are so important to our world, and as much as they scare me, they deserve to live just as much as we do.

Africanized bees are more aggressive and there attacks are more sustained.

I think keeping bees is an art form. It might be easy for all I know, but to me it's an art form.
Love your videos and have learned a lot watching you handle the bees. I noticed Grandma was pretty tough. She did not flinch at the bees. Very cool catch. I cannot wait to see what else you get to do with the bees.

All that electrical n other piping sure got in the way. Last year took out three hives from the noses of fifth wheels. Tiny bottom holes and heavily insulated. Here you had a comfy seat!🙂🐝🙃
