I’ve been playing guitar all of my life. I am also a touring guitarist as well as a teacher. I will tell you that it is rare that I make any comments on lessons. However, I found this lesson very, very beneficial and the way you explain things is amazing as well. A lot of the stuff I already know because I have been playing for so many years but the way you worked through everything and explained everything was just perfect. Great lesson brother, I’m a fan.
Very good bro you’re a great teacher thank you will be tuning in with you much more often. I have a teacher but I need also an online teacher and you’re the first one I’ve found that I trust with my journey thank you I’ll be tuning in
Thank you! Playing guitar for three years. I´m at a point now, where I watch a video like this and can take a big part of these concepts and really play it and use it. Thank you for the inspiration.
I promise you there is. I'm a bass player as well. Scott's Bass Lessons has all kinds of bass content- some of it is like this. But that's not the only channel. Try Bass Buzz also. And that's just off the top of my head. I feel like just watching high level bassists is a huge benefit. Focus on their right hand technique. Then rewatch the video focusing on their left hand. Imagine your hands doing those same things. Then grab your bass and play. Julia Plays Groove is a bass channel that always inspires me. Look at her right hand then try to mimic. Rock on bruh
Stumbled onto this video by accident & I'm glad I did. Very well Done! Presentation Is Very relatable to me. Walked me thru different levels to see the possibilities (me level 2-3). And that voice is relaxing no intimidations. Great Work! will look forward to follow you.
Passing chords are between the original progression from previous steps? Do you use your feel when deciding what chord and shapes to use on passing chords?
It’s like playing a rootless chord voicing. Just because you’re in a certain key, doesn’t mean you have to come “home.” Also Am is the relative minor of C major so that ties it back to C as well
My primitive thought is that it is C major because he says so. Even though it’s there, the progression doesn’t resolve to an A minor chord, it is almost a passing chord… to my ear. But if he told me that the progression was in A minor, I’d believe it. If I dropped some acid, or woke up on the other side of the bed, or was thinking of my birthday, I might recognize it as C major or A minor. In any case, it’s just a progression and could “end” anywhere. Being westerners, we would mentally feel best if it ended on c major or a minor… Maybe some weird Dorian or Phrygian mode for all I know. Anyway, being as it is, it kind of leaves you floating in air allowing you to puzzle over the meaning… kind of cool.
Soo repetitive kerry. You be showing the same stuff for years. Saying the same stuff for years. How about you show some original like the strumming at 2:16. Ohhh I get it, it’s to cool to show it for free, join the camp bla bla bla

The iii Em7 is really C maj (3rd in bass)… 1 = 3 = 6.
It could be both
Passing chords are between the original progression from previous steps? Do you use your feel when deciding what chord and shapes to use on passing chords?
@@klemenmikus yes I do.
Contradiction- Mali music and Jhene Aiko has this progression
If u don’t have a one chord it will just sound like it’s in a different key/mode.
This never goes to C major. Why isnt it Am 6-4-1-5?
It’s much easier to think of most non-classical music as being major and label it as such even if it never hits the 1.
Because chords and progressions are always built and based on major scale
It’s like playing a rootless chord voicing. Just because you’re in a certain key, doesn’t mean you have to come “home.” Also Am is the relative minor of C major so that ties it back to C as well
@@shadvegasmusic but D minor is the saddest key. Seriously though, thanks all. I guess my ears are used to always going home because I do when I play
