Videos as long and complex as this one take a while to make. I have been working on this project since the Christmas season of 2013. Throughout 2014, I researched the Home Alone franchise and finished writing the script for this extensive video. Filming finally began in November, and ended in December. I worked all hours of the day and night to finish editing this project in time for Christmas, so I hope you all will enjoy and share this work that I am personally proud of!

I started working on this video during the Christmas Season of 2013, ten months before SML. Every Christmas Eve, I watch Chris Columbus' Christmas classics "Home Alone" and "Home Alone: Lost in New York". Being a Film major, Chris Columbus is one of my idols, which is one of the reasons I have always aspired to parody his work. So after many years of wanting to pay homage to Columbus, I started researching and writing the first draft to my video "Home Alone" during the final days of 2013. I would rewatch various clips from his films and even got a hold of his scripts and reworked them into my parody. It took a couple months, and many rewrites, but I finally managed to finish a solid script that I believed was a good Super Mario rendition of Columbus' film. With pre-production wrapping up, I got in contact with my animation collaborator SuperMarioMovieMaker and discussed how I wanted the trap sequence in my project to involve 3D animations. We agreed on terms, and he got hard at work animating some awesome models. Now I was ready to film. Usually when I film on separate days, I tend to start to edit the material I have already shot. I got a solid amount of content filmed and edited when I was made aware that SML had posted a video titled "Home Alone". My heart sunk for a moment, realizing that there was a very large chance that all my hard work, and all of SuperMarioMovieMaker's hard work was about to go to waste. But out of desperation, I created a comment thread on Logan's video explaining my situation and asking if his viewers thought I should continue my project. The majority of the people who responded supported my actions, and encouraged me to continue. Very few people thought what I was working on was a copy of Logan's work; they believed my story. One of those people was Logan himself, who admitted that he wasn't even the first plush channel to make a Home Alone styled video. In a private message, Logan offered to make a cameo appearance in my video. This was entirely his idea. So I reworked my script, and added two short scenes that incorporated Officer Goodman, SML Mario, Black Yoshi, and SML Toad. Unfortunately, Logan backed out of the project last minute for unknown reasons, so these scenes were scrapped. My comment thread should be the top comment on Logan's video, so if you wish to read it and realize that I'm telling the truth, go ahead! Here are a few reasons that will solidify the fact that I'm telling the truth. First off, the only help I received with this video was from SuperMarioMovieMaker who only handled the animations. Beyond that, I did EVERYTHING by myself: the puppeteering, the filming, the editing, and the green screening. Making anything independently takes a long time to do, let alone a 22 minute video. If you know anything about the filmmaking industry, a month of work is a very short amount of time (There was roughly a month between when Logan posted his video, and when I posted mine). When considering the length of the video, the amount of special effects, the green screening, and the 3D animations, it should be made clear that it would be impossible for a one man team (Plus SuperMarioMovieMaker for his select shots) to make something like this in such a short amount of time. I needed an entire year. There's no possible way I could have watched Logan's video and come up with an elaborate script and follow through with it in only one month. So to say my video is a copy of SML's is an impossible statement. If you completely ignore everything I say, and actually compare the content of both my video and Logan's, you would realize that they are no where near close to being the same. My video is a parody of Chris Columbus' "Home Alone", where having watched his movie and getting all the references I make to it fuels the video. Logan's video takes the general concept of "Home Alone" and tweaks it quite excessively. He made it into something new and different. It is a pure coincidence that we both used Bowser Jr as the main character. I chose him because he perfectly fits the role of Kevin McCallaster. So before you spam the comment section with false accusations claiming I am copying someone else's work, just think through all the facts I have presented here today. The only work I have copied in this video is Chris Columbus', which was the entire point of my video in the first place, that's what a parody is. FOR ANYONE SUPPORTS MY STORY, PLEASE LIKE THIS COMMENT. I WANT EVERYONE TO READ IT.

Travis Phillips I'll definitely consider doing a sequel at some point (that is not a promise in any sense though). If I did a sequel, it would be a parody of "Lost in New York", which would be MUCH harder to pull off than this video. So we'll see. I also need to see how well this video does. This project was a rather long and complex one, so I'm doubting I would make a sequel next year (If I ever were to make a sequel). My ultimate goal, at some point, is to create a completely original and awesome Christmas Special that is like nothing that has ever been done before.

I know that you probably won't see this due to this video being 2 years old, but to this day I still love watching this video since it came out. It's so brilliantly written and the jokes are some of the best in all of Stachebros history. That's exactly how they treat Kevin in the actual movie. I've considered doing a sequel, but I haven't decided whether or not I'll actually do it. It definitely wouldn't happen this year. The first one took a year to make.

As for any burglars getting into my house... I don't know. I normally get scared when someone knocks on by door- especially at 5 in the morning, thank you very much, Dad's friend- so I don't know how I'd do if someone was actually inside the house. Probably I'd grab some knives and start pushing everything down the stairs if he tried to get up. There's some pretty heavy things upstairs, so I think I could knock 'em out eventually. Or I'd just get murdered, or something. I'm a really slow runner.

Yeah, I commented on that video, because I have been working on this project for a year, and SML just so happened to make a similar video with a similar name while I was mid-way through production. I love sml and this video kept popping up in the suggestions everywhere so I decided to compare it to sml'a home alone, the reason why I would love this one is because it makes me want to watch the movie and gives memories of it and is a lot more like it, sml just did their own little really short version with really none of the music or script form the original movie which is still fine though but your channel is really cool

Smashbros 2004 Thank you very much for your kind words, they mean so much! And the reason I don't make Hanukkah specials is because I'm not jewish. Its nothing against the holiday, but there's no way I'd be able to make a good special without the proper knowledge of said holiday. AAW! I Love it so much! I really loved all the Home Alone references and even Sentences I have seen on the movie! If Burglars broke into my house, I would probably throw bricks at their head like in Home Alone 2 Lost in NY:D I loved the bricks. They aren't really traps, so if it doesn't count, I would connect like a catapult and an egg inside of it to the door so that if they open the door they will be hit with an eggXD Sorry it took me so long to react:(

This Video was and Always will be a Nostalgic Masterpiece to me. This was my Introduction to Stachebros so to me this video is Very Special to me. This is one of the best Plush video’s I’ve seen from the Writing to the characters and editing I love everything which is why I’ve been Loyal to stachebros for years and have Been patient for some new content. It’s Truly a shame when channel’s like SML get more Views then this. While SML make’s unfunny Mediocre content (heck they even not Allowed to use Mario Characters anymore which they kinda deserve) this channel remains to be Hilarious. I like this a zillion times more than the movie.
The reason why this is better than sml is this humor is clean and that’s what makes it funnier as long as it put so much effort and isn’t kids stuff it’s for everyone. No swearing, good humor, more effort it’s a lot better.
I would put a bucket of water on my front door, that way when a burglar tries to rob my house, the bucket of water will fall on their heads and get them wet.
That, or when a burglar enters my house, I'll just hit him in the head with a frying pan, knocking him out cold.
