Bought the seat a month ago. My rig is complete now and it’s next level. You really don’t need the stand unless you want to go nuts with panels it comes with a centerline keyboard and an offset keyboard mount option
I’d use that as a sofa lol. Interesting fact, the Spitfire pic in your room was painted by my neighbour, Barrie Clark. We had it in our hallway for years before realising lol
I have the Flight Seat Pro, bought it 2 months before they made the Boeing green cushions available for it and am pretty mad about that but its a super setup. I was going to purchase an eject handle and goose neck extension exactly how yours is setup but I can only find straight extensions and wasn't sure if they would put the stick in the right spot. Hoping to one day get the WInwing F16 throttle and an F18 stick since I have the F15 throttle and F16EX stick, so I could have side mount and center mount. Its really fast and easy to reconfig this chair, just get the proper tools to keep with it at all times. I didnt have room for the Stand pro and my desk is custom built so the FSP slots right in to it and everything is in reach and I made a custom pedal mount for the Winwing skywalkers that blends right in with the setup.
+GrimReapersAtomic *Next Level Racing has a solution I've not considered.* The Flight Stand Pro and Flight Seat Pro (BOEING Edition) make a simpit for the Hughes AH-64 (using the VIRPIL VPC-014 / VPC-111-200 Collective, VPC-403-001 Engine and Armament Panel (recommend Condition cylinders the left pots, the Governor gears the right pots), VPC-302-001 Antitorque/Brake Bar, and VPC-009-01-R / VPC-602-200 / VPC-109-001 Cyclic).
I noticed that you didn't touch any dash panel controls. Is that usual for VR sims? Are the goggles good enough that you can "see" what dial or button you push?
Too rich for my blood. Ill keep rocking out with my wal mart gaming chair. In other news, am I the only one who thinksSkils's voice doesnt match his appearance?😂😂😂
I would suggest either the Pimax Crystal or the Crystal Light, both are fantastic headsets for DCS. You'll want a powerful PC to run DCS well in VR no matter which headset you choose, (See my system specs in the video description), but the Crystal light makes use of quadviews for its fixed foveated rendering and also has an upscaling feature, which both help reduce the demand on your system.
do you use the buttons in front of you, maybe with some VR see though?Or are they in VR purely decorative? I assume putting them in the right place, so they match up with the VR ones would be cool but impossible.
Aye, I use the panels in VR, it's actually easier than it looks, by placing the panels as close to their position in VR, then the rest is just muscle memory and using little hacks, like tactile dots on specific buttons etc.
Hey thanks for the video review, of course now I've got something else on my wish list for that winning lottery ticket LOL. But seriously I sincerely appreciate the review
Is there a way to mount a center stick with a 200mm gooseneck DIRECTLY UNDER the seat cutout? More specifically l need it to stay under the cutout as the seat is adjusted forward/backwards on the rails, so not only is it ergonomic for me, but for others too. The stick position shown in the video looks pretty bad honestly, even with the seat fully forward...
I have the same kit. Yes, you have that option. Mine is setup similar to Skil's stick position, even the gooseneck is identical, after I asked where he bought his. I didn't build it for anyone but me to use. It just turned out that way. I'll be changing a couple controls shortly, and the extra mounting parts will likely come in handy.
@wildbillkelso2083 it's not very clear that you understood my question. "Setup similar to Skil's" and "works just for me" indicates some confusion. I'm specifically asking for something else entirely.
There are several mounting options for the centre stick, for using extensions or without, but none "out of the box", which will allow the stick mount to slide forwards and backwards with the seat, if that is what you are asking. I have the stick set slightly forward of my "perfect" position meantime to accommodate the ejection handle, and the long throw of the stick with the 200mm extension.

I'm not even a gamer, but enjoy watching all of you folk's vids. But you did a great job on the vid. Very high quality.
Well said! Im right there with you.
Seconded. My games are on my phone 😅
A great review, thanks Skil. This is on my bucket list for when im allowed to have a big boy sim pit...
I’d use that as a sofa lol.

Great video, ive been in the market for this very setup, thanks for making this!
Looks to be an amazing product.
Wow…that’s a sweet setup!

At least you won't have to worry about falling out of the sky when the plane falls apart.
I was going to get this the other week waited for a video just like this
Fantastic job Skil!!! Put mine to shame. 💯
Thankyou sir.🫡
As boys get older, the only thing that changes is the price of their toys.

good god, thank you

We need to know the rank and name of your wingman skil - competition for lieutenant Pickels?
Too rich for my blood. Ill keep rocking out with my wal mart gaming chair.

Agreed, could not find a more ill-matching voice...
How should I look to match my voice, or sound to match my look???😂👀

@wildbillkelso2083 🤣
That is so cool
2 QUSTIONS, one, what is a great vr headset for vr dcs, and 2 what kind of pc is required to run such a setup??

"Boeing"
Does it fall apart mid-game?
oof
Nice. What are those light gray glide clamps that you're using for your instrument panels attached to Flight Stand Pro? And how did you mount it?
They are Monstertech mounts.
real
I'd love that seat but i have to haul it up four flights of stairs
This should be a GR Thread. Local GR Angels to help shift Heavies and Super Heavies
Aye, the boxes are heavy and awkward to carry due to their size and shape. Easy, (probably), with 2 folk, but a real struggle with just 1.

Who's lorry?
It's the UK version of a semi truck - 20 or 40' articulated trailer pulled by a short wheelbase cab-over, so it can go round corners 😂
where did you get that F14 Button Panel?
I made both the F14 Pilot Display Control Panel and the Emergency Wing Sweep Lever. (3d printed and Leo Bodnar boards).

The seats head rest is too high when using VR!!!!
I just don't see how the stand is worth 550 bucks.
😂😂
Wait, are you serious? All metal construction yeah definitely worth the price.
Fabrication time is expensive.
For that price, I'd hope the ejector seat is fully functional?
