Thanks for the video, I am doing this test in 2 weeks as my first dressage show and I wanted to see what it looked like, I already memorized it in like 20 minutes hahaha. So thanks.
youre right, it is correct to halt at the riders knee but at this level it doesnt really matter, and if you read the test its not really what the judge is looking for. They want a steady tempo, round circles, a balanced horse + rider with a good seat + quiet hands who uses her aids correctly. The point of this level is to build the confidence of the horse/rider, and is not usually used in competition so it is used to introduce the team to memorize a test and the sport of dressage/ a ring.
Dude I’ve never done dressage I’m a jumper but a ton of my friends want me to enter a dressage show. It’s gonna be so bad but so fun lol. Hope I get an easy test.
Thank you for sharing your wonderful knowledge! Can I ask a question? When you halt at X, should you halt at X with horse front feet or halt at X at rider's knee
I want honest feedback from a judge. I'm paying for their opinion not for clapping and saying I'm amazing. The comments given are examples of how to get a higher score next time. Sure he's a little monotone but I'm not paying for an actor either.

Yes, Starr Vaughn generously provided their facility for us to tape this ride and others in the 2011 On the Levels.

great horse, needs to be straighter. great mover too
So helpful thanks
Damn this judge is extremely critical nitpicky and there's no kindness or gentleness in his voice. He needs to work on it 5
