Loved it Brittni, thanks for sharing! I'd like to add one more thing I always do and never forget within this theme of being flexible; i tend to keep on checking in with my participants during the entire workshop. To check how they are doing, if they like the exercises, if they feel like we are going somewhere and what they wish in terms of the rest of the day / program. Sometimes they feel like having a discussion about something is at that moment waaaay more important than my planned exercises, i happily give them that space to chit chat. For the cost of losing time with me of course, but hey, it's their party. Not mine. But other than that, I love your take aways. Good work!
The check-ins are so important! Great add! I am always a little careful about allowing unstructured discussion in a workshop because things can get derailed quickly. So usually if a discussion is needed, I will make sure that I give participants time to think about what they'd like to contribute and get them to write down their thoughts before sharing. This way they are focused while they share! And I always use my time timer! Life saver!! 😁
Thank you so much for sharing, Brittani! Very helpful tips. I am confident in staying flexible during the workshop. But may I know how you communicate that with the client and manage their expectations? P.s. hi Gordon ❤
Thanks for watching!! I always share an outline of the workshop but I make sure they are aware that things can change on the fly and they need to trust my expertise in getting them to where we need to go! Setting the right expectations before you are even in the workshop room is critical. You'll find you get a lot less push back when you do that!
Thanks!! love the tips :D
Love to hear it!!
